The Effect of Environmental Message Frame and Temporal Distance on Consumer's Precycling Behavior (시간적 거리감에 따른 환경 친화적 메시지 소구 방식이 소비자의 프리싸이클링 행동에 미치는 영향)

  • In light of the world grappling with diverse environmental issues due to climate change, the prominence of the 'pre-cycling' movement has grown. This movement strives to curtail or eliminate waste generation even before product purchases, garnering more attention than conventional eco-friendly practices. Consequently, this study employs experiments to delve into effective message strategies for promoting pre-cycling behaviors, which serve as preventive measures against the escalating environmental challenges posed by worsening waste problems. This study investigated the effects of message framing and temporal distance on pre-cycling behavioral intention. In terms of message frame, suggestive messages increased pre-cycling behavioral intention more than coercive messages, and temporal distance had no direct effect on pre-cycling behavioral intention. Assertive messages were associated with higher pre-cycling behavioral intentions when the target was interpreted as near future and suggestive messages were interpreted as distant future. Although temporal distance did not directly affect pre-cycling behavioral intention, it positively influenced consumers' pro-environmental behavioral intention by reducing their antipathy toward assertive messages. The implications of this study extend to the realm of management, offering insights into steering consumer behavior in response to pro-environmental messages.

  • This study examines effective message strategies that fit with the characteristics of retargeting advertisements, based on the Construal Level Theory. First, we investigate whether the social distance that applies between interpersonal interactions can also be observable in an online environment and test the effects of social distance, depending on the type of online sites. We then examine consumers' construal level when social and temporal distances interplay, and how the effects of the messages change accordingly. As a result, social distance and message construal levels by website type were consistent with existing CLT studies. However, the hypothesis that advertising effects will be higher only when all, multidimensions' distances and construal levels of messages match, was partially supported. Also the current view, that the consumers' evaluations will show no difference to when either or both dimensions are distal, was rejected. Instead, when a discrepancy between temporal and social distance was present, the construal level of the message was more effective when congruent with the social distance out the two dimensions. Hence, it is possible to infer that the influence of psychological distance may vary depending on the dimension of distance.

  • The effects of message framing have been major research themes in marketing and advertising field and several studies on these effects have been conducted. The purpose of this study is to examine the direct effects of public service Advertising message framing and moderating role of temporal distance. The results indicate that message types have a significant effect on message reliability and acceptance intention. In addition, temporal distance plays a significant moderating role between the message types and the dependent variable. The results of this study suggest various implications in the public service advertising area.

Analysis of Effects of Rational and Emotional Advertising Appeals on Products from a View of Psychological Distance : Focusing on the Eye-Tracking Method (제품에 대한 심리적 거리감에 따른 이성적, 감성적 광고소구의 효과분석: 아이트래킹 방법을 중심으로)

  • Consumers possess their own psychological distance towards products. Based on the construal-level theory, this study aims to analyze which type of advertising appeal is more effective according to psychological distance. Also this study conducts neurophysiology experiment through eye-tracker. By using eye-tracking methods, participants' responses to products was measured and analyzed accordingly. Results revealed that consumers prefer rational appeals when the psychological distance is perceived near, while emotional appeals are preferred when the psychological distance is perceived far. In addition, eye movements measured in Visit Count(VC), Fixation Count(FC), and Total Fixation Duration(TFD) showed significant difference when participants are viewing preferred and non-preferred appeals.

  • This study examines the effect of present and future situation on the temporal distance estimation to the future. The effect of present and future situation on time expression was verified. In Experiment 1, an experiment was conducted to investigated the effects of positivity/negativity situation of the present and the future on the judgment of subjective the distance to a certain future time. The results are as follows. When the present is positive and the future is negative, the future looks closer than the objective temporal distance and comes faster, When the present is negative and the future is positive, the future looks farther and comes slower. On the other hand, when the present and the future are both negative, the future looks coming slower. And when the present and the future are both positive, the future is expected to come faster. In Experiment 2, the cognitive and emotional aspects of subjective time through time expressions. It can be said to be 'the time of perseverance' in the sense of time for effort. On the other hand, when the present is positive compared to the future, the time seems go fast and we generally prefer to use cognitive expressions such as 'fast' and emotional expressions such as 'near' and 'pleasant' and 'flutter'. It is 'the time of availability', which means the time to enjoy and utilize.

Influence of social-emotial isolation and depression on smartphone addiction in college students experienced COVID-19 social distancing (COVID-19로 인한 사회적 거리두기를 경험한 대학생의 사회·정서적 고립감과 우울이 스마트폰 중독에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between social-emotional isolation, depression, and smartphone addiction of college students who experienced social distancing caused by COVID-19 and to identify the factors influencing smartphone addiction of college students. Total of 220 students from four universities participated in this study, and data collection was conducted by organizing a questionnaire in a Google form. Data were analyzed using the SPSS/WIN 28.0. There were significantly correlation among smartphone addiction of college students, social-emotional isolation (r=.44, p<.001) and depression (r=.51, p<.001). The factors affecting smartphone addiction of college students were gender (β=.176, p=.001), weekend smartphone usage time 7-9 hours (β=.387, p=.001), 10-12 hours (β=.313, p=.006), 12 hours or more (β=.299, p=<.001), depression (β=.302, p<.001), and social-emotional isolation (β=.210, p=.004). The regression model was statistically significant (F=15.81, p<.001). The explanatory power of the model was 43% (adj R2=.43, p<.001). Therefore, in order to prevent smartphone addiction of college students, it is necessary to develop and utilize a mental health promotion program that can reduce social-emotional isolation and depression.

  • 코로나 19사태로 인한 '사회적 거리두기' 운동이 지속되면서 사람들의 생활 형태가 변화된 양상을 띈다. 특히 모임 활동 및 단체 활동의 제한으로 개인 시간이 이전에 비해 증대되었다. 홀로 자택에 머무르는 시간의 증가로 인해 사회적 단절감과 고립감이 심화되며 "코로나 블루"로 일컫어지는 신종 정신 질환이 많은 사람들에게 생겨나 사회적 문제로 이슈화 되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 사회적 문제를 완화시키기 위해 고안된 새로운 디퓨저 개발과정 및 기존 디퓨저에서 볼 수 없었던 IoT기술과 조향기술과의 접목을 통한 차별성에 대해 서술하였다.

GUI 환경에서 검색작업의 수행도에 관한 연구 -감성을 고려한 색을 중심으로-

  • 본 연구에서는 점차 사용이 증가하고 있는 GUI 환경의 작업에서, 인간의 감 성인석을 색에 적용하고 이에 대한 수행도를 분석하고자 하였다. 실험은 우선 텍스트만 있는 윈도우와 색이 있는 윈도우와의 검색 시간을 비교하였다. 그리 고 색의 세 가지 속성인 색상, 채도, 명도와 검색 시간과의 관계를 알아보기 위해 색상, 채도, 명도, 거리를 독립변수로 하고 검색 시간을 종속변수로 하여 실험을 하였다. 그리고 색에 대한 인간의 감성 인식을 알아보고, 감성 인식을 고려한 색의 실질적인 수행도에 대해서도 분석하였다. 통계분석 결과, 색이 있는 환경에서의 검색 시간은 악 50.31% 향상되었으며, 색상과 채도의 수준 차이는 검색 시간에 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 색상의 경우는 녹색,적색 순 으로 검색 시간이 좋았으며, 채도의 경우는 회색이 적게 포함된 경우 검색 시간이 향상되었다. 그리고 감성을 고려한 색도 검색 시간이 향상된 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 여러 산업환경과 디자인 측면에 인간의 감성을 고려하 고 적용하는데 있어, 실질적인 수행도를 향상시키는 감성구현 방법과 이에 대 한 검증을 제시하고자 한다.

  • In field of school, parents can't attend to education activities of school really because of the time and spacial reason, economical reason and the sense of distance for school, although they are very concerned about a school education. In this paper, I suggested the e-Home system that is an organic system to can confirm the communication channel between parents and school or teacher by using infrastructure of educational information based on established Home-page of each school. It should bring a qualitative promotion for public education. Of couse, it will be increasing a relationship of student, teacher and parents furthermore, it make a desirable relation between teacher and parents via participation of parents for school education in elementary school.
