The Most Suitable Reference White Setting for Three-tube Projection HDTV (3 관식 프로젝션 HDTV의 기준 백색 설정)

  • According to increase of preference to the large display device, demand of a three-tube projection TV increase in the display market. But luminance per unit area of a 3-tube projection TV is less bright than that of original one -tube TV The color gamut of phosphor used in the projection TV is different to standard gamut of phosphor in NTSC. In this paper, we analyze the relationship between coordinates of RGB phosphor and RGB beam currents according to the color temperature in projection HDTV. We also proposed the range of reference white which maximize the luminance that viewer feel based on both Helmholtz-Kohlrausch effect which is visual property and degradation of image according to the change of beam profile by current-ratio.

Bivariate skewness, kurtosis and surface plot (이변량 왜도, 첨도 그리고 표면그림)

  • In this study, we propose bivariate skewness and kurtosis statistics and suggest a surface plot that can visually implement bivariate data containing the correlation coefficient. The skewness statistic is expressed in the form of a paired real values because this represents the skewed directions and degrees of the bivariate random sample. The kurtosis has a positive value which can determine how thick the tail part of the data is compared to the bivariate normal distribution. Moreover, the surface plot implements bivariate data based on the quantile vectors. Skewness and kurtosis are obtained and surface plots are explored for various types of bivariate data. With these results, it has been found that the values of the skewness and kurtosis reflect the characteristics of the bivariate data implemented by the surface plots. Therefore, the skewness, kurtosis and surface plot proposed in this paper could be used as one of valuable descriptive statistical methods for analyzing bivariate distributions.

  • The real time movement of the caisson was measured when it was open to the waves during breakwater construction. As a result of measurement, no more settlement after the preloading in condition of designed loading was expected but sudden abnormal settlement took place through whole area of the breakwater when waves occurred by typhoon effect. To clarify the reason of this case, wave of the site has been reproduced and the equivalent wave pressure on the caisson was calculated. The numerical analysis of the effect of wave to the ground had been done. Site measurement data is in accordance with the result of numerical analysis.

  • 형상(形相) 망진(望診)에 대한 국제공동연구와 해외진출을 위한 준비과정으로 중의사(中醫師)를 대상으로 수요조사를 실행하였다. 참여자의 학문적인 경향성은 전통 한의학적인 보수 경향성보다는 현대의학을 실용적으로 활용하는 태도를 보였으며, 임상에서 활용도가 높은 병증체계는 장부병증과 팔강병증의 순이었다. 한방 진단법에서 중요하게 활용하는 방법은 문진(問診)이며, 망진(望診), 문진(聞診), 맥진(脈診), 복진(腹診) 등의 방법도 고른 분포도를 보였으며, 그 이유는 진단 효율성, 환자와의 상담, 치료효과 입증, 환자 정보 공유, 진단 결과의 재현성과 진단의 표준화 객관성 등으로 고르게 나타났다. 한약과 침구의 활용에 대한 진단기법의 일관성은 비교적 동일하거나 보통으로 나타났으며, 그 이유로는 한약과 침구의 변증행위가 동일한 체계를 활용하거나, 소속 학파의 이론을 한약과 침구에 활용하는 것으로 보인다. 망진 형상진단의 중요도와 활용도는 고르게 나타났으며, 망진에서 중요하게 활용하는 부위와 내용으로는 두면의 생김새, 신체 전반적 생김새, 신체 특징부위로 나타났다. 형상진단의 기전과 표준화 연구에 가장 적합한 연구방법론으로는 형상진단에 입각한 고전 문헌연구, 전문가의 형상분석에 대한 통계처리, 병증과 형상에 대한 임상데이터 구축 등이었다. 형상진단기에 대해 요구하는 기능은 형상유형감별, 오장육부 상태 진단, 표리한열 진단, 경락기운 진단 등으로 나타났으며, 형상진단기의 임상적인 활용도를 높일 수 있는 임상분야는 심혈관 질환, 뇌혈관 질환, 소화기 질환, 대사증후군 질환, 부인과 질환, 노인성 질환 등으로 고른 분포를 보였다.

A Study of the Landscape Preference for 'Oreu'm by Analyses of Features & Visual Elements ("오름"의 형태와 시각량 분석을 통한 경관선호성 평가)

  • The purpose of this study was not only to clearly examine the features of the scenery and visual elements of Oreum (parasitic cones) but also to investigate primary factors in landscape preferences for these cones. This study further attempted to gain basic information for examining the preservation of Oreum in regards to the influence of scenery on the general public. A Multiple Regression Analysis was used for this study for which the independent variable was the area ratio of the fore-, mid-, and background of the view under the feature element and the structure of the scenery at the Oreum. The dependent variables were the preference value, the number of summits, and the highest altitude of the Oreum. All but the highest inclination were positive variables. The area ratio of the Oreum was found to be the most important variable. The area of sky and the area of the distant scenery were shown to be positive explanation variables, while the area to the fore of the view and the area to the middle of the view were shown as negative explanation variable. In the preference for Oreum scenery, which has a high visibility and is clearly outlined against the skyline, it was found that as the hindrance element of visibility near to a visual point or the area ratio increased, the preference for the Oreum scenery decreased.

A Study on The Application of VR Technology for The Contents of Petroglyph Museum (VR기술을 활용한 암각화 박물관의 콘텐츠 개발 연구)

  • The Petroglyph is a drawing on the rock which reflects the art, religion, myth, and life style of prehistoric society. Recently lots of researches have been studied to develop the contents applying the petroglyphs in the fields of exhibition, education, entertainment, and commercial. This research aims to find some possible VR contents based on the petroglyphs text. The review on the Ulsan petroglyph museum which is the first and the only petroglyph museum in Korea was the first step. Some limitation and problems were found in the current contents which could be overcome by using VR technology. The next step was the overall review of VR system and devices, and then I analyzed five cases of VR contents which specifically applied to the cultural heritages. Based on the analysis of case studies I propose some possible VR contents more immersive and interactive covered with whole range of petroglyphs context, environmental, social, cultural, technical and artistic.

  • The Contemporary animation style based on technology become various within some categories and genres as recreating the importance and meaning of many formalities. According to the variation of the contemporary animation style, The computer animation that has affected on continuous development of science and its following broad-band culture takes charge of the important position in producing the contemporary visual art. On this thesis, I will research < Ani-matrix > which has 9 episode each for the different Matrix world focused on its animation style. I will analyze their forms of expression into the both aspects of esthetics viewpoint technologically and film making style traditionally regarding to the matter of reality and reemergence on a viewpoint of a realistically esthetics. Also I will analyze mutual connection among the reinterpretation for the reality, philosophical message, and animation style within < Ani-Matrix> suggested by influence of Post-modernism. Thus, I intend to prospect the formation of animation style followed by its esthetics construction and effect on computer animation of the film genre.

  • With recent development of virtual reality technology, coupled with the growth of the marine industry, virtual underwater simulation systems are under development in various studies, for educational purposes and to simulate virtual reality experiences. Current literature indicates many underwater simulation systems to date have focused on the quality of visual stimulus delivered through three-dimensional graphics user interface, limiting the reality of the experience. In order to improve the quality of the reality delivered by such virtual simulations, it is crucial to develop multi-sensory technology rather than focus on the conventional audio-visual interaction, which limits experiencer from the sense of underwater immersion and existence within the simulation. This work proposes the immersive multi-sensory effector system, delivering the users with a more realistic underwater experience. The sense of reality perceived was evaluated, as the main factor of the virtual reality system.

The Edge Enhanced Error Diffusion Appling Edge Information Weights (에지 정보 가중치를 적용한 에지 강조 오차 확산 방법)

  • Error diffusion is a procedure for generating high quality bilevel images from continuous-tone images but blurs the edge information. To solve this problem, we propose the improved method appling edge enhanced weights based on local characteristic of the original images. We consider edge information as local characteristic. First, we produce edges by appling 3$\times$3 sobel operator to the original image. The edge is normalized from 0 to 1. Edge information weights are computed by using sinusoidal function and the normalized edge information. The edge enhanced weights are computed by using edge information weights multiplied input pixels. The proposed method is compared with conventional methods by measuring the edge correlation and quality of the recovered images from the halftoned images. The proposed method provides better quality than the conventional method due to the enhanced edge and represents efficiently the detail edge. Also, the proposed method is improved in edge representation than the conventional method.

Design Style Analysis of Jeju Naewotdang Musindo Folk 10 God's Paintings (제주 내왓당 무신도 10신위(神位) 디자인 형태 분석)

  • Developing cultural contents in cultural creativity industry is very practical process recently. Research about Jeju's legend and myth should be the basic theory for cultural contents development based on local cultures. Jeju Naewotdang Musindo 10 gods paintings are unique colored pictures, appointed as Jeju folklore material No.7 and national important folklore material No. 240. Jeju-Do is remained the springhead of absorbed into unique culture for a long time because of Jeju's geographical environment condition. Jeju Musindo could be related with the symbol of Jeju's myth images and the springhead of emotions of our typical country people. It would be analysed by Wucius Wong's design style theory for approaching visual image and symbolic meaning. This research about Jeju Naewotdang Musindo 10 gods paintings could provide design analysis methodology for further theoretical studies about Jeju's legend and myth for Jeju's unique cultural contents.
