Most steep slope failures tend to take place in geographically unstable areas. Mt. Baekdusan is known as a potentially active volcano in a typical mountainous terrain. This study prepared a digital elevation model of Mt. Baekdusan area and created a hazard map based on topographical factors and structural lineament analysis. Factors used in vulnerability analysis included geographical data involving aspect and slope distribution, as well as contributory area of upslope, tangential gradient curvature, profile gradient curvature, and the distribution of wetness index among the elements that comprise topography. In addition, the stability analysis was conducted based on the lineament intensity map. Concerning the disaster vulnerability of Mt. Baekdusan region, the south and south west area of Mt. Baekdusan has a highest risk of disaster (grade 4-5) while the risk level decreases in the north eastern region.

Data analysis research using deep learning has recently been studied in various field. In this paper, we conduct a GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System)-based meteorological study applying deep learning by estimating the ZWD (Zenith tropospheric Wet Delay) through MLP (Multi-Layer Perceptron) and LSTM (Long Short-Term Memory) models. Deep learning models were trained with meteorological data and ZWD which is estimated using zenith tropospheric total delay and dry delay. We apply meteorological data not used for learning to the learned model to estimate ZWD with centimeter-level RMSE (Root Mean Square Error) in both models. It is necessary to analyze the GNSS data from coastal areas together and increase time resolution in order to estimate ZWD in various situations.

In this study, cement-based filler is used as an adhesive instead of organic adhesive, epoxy because there were problems under wet condition. First, the bond strength of cement-based filler was measured and the result was satisfied with KS F 4716. However, in case of wet condition, bond strength of epoxy adhesive decreased $0.73N/mm^2$ in 7 days and $0.84N/mm^2$ in 14 days from pilot test. This implies that there would be a problem on reinforced concrete structure in wet condition, such as tunnel and sewage box. In the second experiment, the flexural strength of RC beams with GFRP using different thickness of cement-based filler was investigated, and the result was indicated 113%, 66%, 75% increase in 10mm, 20mm, 30mm thickness, respectively. From the result, it was known that 10mm filler thickness produces stable bond performance.

Soil moisture and runoff have very close relationship. Especially the water retention capacity and drainage characteristics of the soil are determined by various factors of the soil. In this study, a total of 40 rainfall events were identified from the entire rainfall events of Sulma basin in 2016 and 2017. For each selected events, the constant-K method was used to separate direct runoff and baseflow from total flow and calculate the runoff coefficient which shows positive exponential curve with Antecedent Soil Moisture (ASM). In addition to that, the threshold of soil moisture was determined at the point where the runoff coefficient starts increasing dramatically. The threshold of soil moisture shows great correlation with runoff and depth to water table. It was founded that not only ASM but also various factors, such as Initial Soil Moisture (ISM), storage capacity of soil and precipitation, affect the results of runoff response. Furthermore, wet condition and dry condition are separated by ASM threshold and the start and peak response are analyzed. And the results show that the response under wet condition occurred more quickly than that of dry condition. In most events occurred in dry condition, factors reached peak in order of soil moisture, depth to water table and runoff. However, in wet condition, they reached peak in order of depth to water table, runoff and soil moisture. These results will help identify the interaction among factors which affect the runoff, and it will help establish the relationship between various soil conditions and runoff.

Compressive strength in concrete has many affecting parameters and varies with exposure conditions. Although the concrete has same mix proportions, its properties are different with exposure conditions, and sea-environment can be classified into three groups such as tidal, atmospheric, and sea submerged region particularly. In this study, compressive strength was evaluated on 7-year-cured concrete and the results from previous equations (KDS, ACI, CEB, and JSCE) were compared with them. Furthermore the strength and carbonation progress were evaluated on concrete cured for 7 years exposed to three different sea environment. Three levels of w/c (water to cement) ratio (0.37, 0.42, and 0.47) and three different exposure conditions (tidal, atmospheric, and submerged) were considered. The results from wet-cured condition are all higher than those from the previously proposed equations, and the results from different sea exposure conditions (tidal, atmospheric, and submerged region) were lower than those from wet-cured condition. A reduction of strength was evaluated with increasing w/c ratio and the minimum strength was evaluated in the sea-submerged conditions. Several experimental constants applicable to the previous equations were obtained from regression analysis since the strength change with w/c ratios were not considered in those equations. Regarding carbonation depth with different exposure conditions, higher carbonation depth clearly was observed with increasing w/c ratios, and evaluated in the order of atmospheric, submerged, and tidal region. Considerable carbonation depth was observed in submerged and tidal region due to sulfate ion and dissloved carbon dioxide as well.
Climatological characteristics in the variation of soil temperatures in Korea were investigated using Korea Meterological Administration's observation data. And the impacts of soil moisture on the variation of soil temperature were examined using observed precipitation data. The climatological averages of soil temperatures are ranged from 14.4 to $15.0^{\circ}C$ regardless of depths. And they showed an latitudinal gradient with a warm temperature at the southern region and 'U' shape as in the air temperature with a high value along the coastal region. The relatively higher heat capacity and low conductivity of soil compared to those of the air resulted in the significant delay of the maximum and minimum date with depth. As a results, soil acts as a heat source during winter while a heat sink during summer. Global warming and urban heat island have increased the soil temperatures with an average rate $0.3\~0.5^{\circ}C/10-year$ as in the air temperature during last 30 years $(1973\~2002)$. However, the warming rate is maximized during spring contrary to the winter in the air temperature. The temporal variation of soil temperatures is strongly affected by that of soil moisture through an modification of the heat capacity and heat convection. In general, the increased soil moisture clearly decreased the temporal variations and increased the deep layer soil temperatures during cold season.
The definition of laterite or lateritic soils is discussed on a climatic condition of tropical and semitropical regions, and the weathering index is indicated by the chemical composition. The chemical composition of$(Fe_2O_3+Al_2O_3)$ of the weathered granite residual soils in tropical and the temperate regions which shelus laterization usually ranges from 0.2 to 0.5. This study shows that the chemical ratio of the Chonju Ajung site is about 0.2U, and that of the regions along the shore of the western sea of Hongsong and Taechon is about 0.33. The chemical ratio of the non-laterite is less than 0.2, and the Kyougju Pulguksa site confirmed about 0.17, The X-Ray diffraction test shows that the clay mineral of the laterite soils is made of kaolinite, this X -Ray result indicates the same characteristics compared with the wrathered granite residual soils of other sites.

대표적인 가뭄지수에는 Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI), Standardized Precipitation Evapotranspiration Index (SPEI), Palmer Drought Severity Index (PDSI), Soil Water Deficit Index (SWDI), Vegetation condition index (VCI), Temperature Condition Index (TCI), Vegetation Health Index (VHI), Scaled Drought Condition Index (SDCI), Integrated Crop Drought Index (ICDI) 등이 있다.
