Printed Annular Ring Slot Antenna for Circular Polarization (원형편파를 갖는 원형 링 마이크로스트립 슬롯 안테나)

  • 본 논문에서는 기존의 원형 링 마이크로스트립 슬롯 안테나에 십자슬롯과 truncated를 통하여 원형편파를 구현할 수 있는 새로운 안테나 구조를 제안하였다. 금전구조는 입력단 설계가 간단하고 정함이 쉬운 전자파 결합방식을 사용하였고, Ansoft HFSS V8.0으로 최적화 한 후 제작 및 측정하였다. 제안된 안테나는 GPS(1.55MHz)대역에서 원형편파(RHCP, LHCP)특성을 만족하고, 각각의 안테나 구조에서 7.74%의 임피던스 대역폭(VSWR$\leq$2)을 갖고 안테나의 방사소자를 소형화하였다. 이는 기존의 월평 링 마이크로스트립 슬롯 안테나의 임피던스 대역폭 및 편파특성을 획기적으로 개선한 것이다.

Design of Microstrip Patch Array Antenna for ISM Band (ISM대역용 마이크로스트립 패치 배열 안테나 설계)

  • In this paper, we are designed and fabricated circular polarization microstrip patch antenna of 5[GH]z bandwidth for the wireless LAN and the ISM. We are proposed new structure that removed the section which intersected at a right angle and were composed to four separated slots. The antenna of proposed structure could solve parasitic elements from intersected in a right angle and weak coupling efficiency from asymmetry between feed line and a slot. The proposed cross slots antenna is easily impedance matching and increased impedance bandwidth. Also this is increased efficiency and a bandwidth of antenna and reduce back lobe of radiation pattern. We designed 2${\times}$2 array antenna of 5[GHz] band. It took impedance bandwidth 280[MHz](VSWR < 1.5) and gam 12.5[dBi]

Design of Miniaturized CPW-fed Slot Antenna for 2.45 GHz WLAN Band Applications (2.45 GHz 무선 랜 대역 응용을 위한 소형 CPW급전 슬롯 안테나 설계)

  • In this paper, a design method for a compact CPW-fed slot antenna using SRRs(split-ring resonators) is studied. The structure of the proposed slot antenna is a rectangular slot antenna loaded with SRR conductors inside the slot to reduce the antenna size. Optimal design parameters are obtained by analyzing the effects of the gap between the SRR conductors and slot, and the width of the SRR conductors on the input reflection coefficient characteristic. The optimized compact slot antenna operating at 2.45 GHz band is fabricated on an FR4 substrate with a dimension of 36 mm by 30 mm. The length of the proposed compact slot antenna is reduced by 14.3% compared to that of a conventional rectangular slot antenna. Experiment results show that the antenna has a desired impedance characteristic with a frequency band of 2.4-2.49 GHz for a VSWR < 2.

Compact Dual-band CPW-fed Slot Antenna Using Split-Ring Resonator (분할 링 공진기를 이용한 소형 이중 대역 CPW-급전 슬롯 안테나)

  • In this paper, a design method for a compact dual-band coplanar waveguide-fed slot antenna using SRR(split-ring resonator) conductor is studied. The SRR conductor is loaded inside a rectangular slot of the proposed antenna for dual-band operation. When the SRR conductor is inserted into the slot, the original rectangular slot is divided into a rectangular loop region and a rectangular slot region, and frequency bands are created by the loop and slot, separately. A prototype of the proposed dual-band slot antenna operating at 2.45 GHz WLAN band and 3.40-5.35 GHz band is fabricated on an FR4 substrate with a dimension of 30 mm by 30 mm. Experiment results show that the antenna has a desired impedance characteristic with a frequency band of 2.38-2.51 GHz and 3.32-5.38 GHz for a voltage standing wave < 2, and measured gain is 1.7 dBi at 2.45 GHz, and it ranges 2.4-3.2 dBi in the second band.

  • Radiation efficiency and antenna gain, in this paper, can be increased by the slot on EMI shield painted on the mobile phone back cover. When the EMI slot which has proper dimension and location is located on the EMI paining area in the phone, the increment of antenna current density due to mutual coupling between the antenna and slot derives increment of antenna efficiency. For the verification of EMI slot effect, we apply the EMI slot to the mobile phone which is operating on GSM/DCS/USPCS/WCDMA quad band, and measure $S_{11}$ and antenna efficiency. It's shown that resonant frequency is not changed and radiation efficiencies to frequency channels by EMI slot are increased from 0.21 % to 8.96 %.

  • We proposed a novel feed structure for a broadband circular slot antenna. The proposed antenna has a circular slot, a radiating element, and a novel microstrip feed structure which is composed of a 50 Ω microstrip feedline and a circular-shaped microstrip patch. This antenna is analyzed and optimized by using the finite difference time domain (FDTD) method. The impedance bandwidth of optimized antenna is 1.94 octave that is much broader than the conventional microstrip slot antennas.

  • In this paper, the effect of slot antenna's location in the radiation performance and impedance bandwidth was analyzed. The proposed antenna was designed to operate at Wi-Fi band(2.4~2.5 GHz) when the slot antenna is located at the center of the ground plane, the proposed antenna has a bandwidth of 340 MHz(2.24~2.58 GHz) under voltage standing wave ratio of = 2 and achieves average realized efficiency of 69 % over Wi-Fi bands.

  • In the information age, internet was developed from the wired access to the wireless Internet access. When a surge in demand for wireless Internet access, efficiency and performance of 2.4GHz band which leads to saturation of the communication was significantly fall. in this paper, the U-slot microstrip array antenna in the 5 GHz band have been studied to improve the drawback of a narrow bandwidth of the T-slot micro strip antenna. The characteristics of single antenna and array antenna was investigated to obtain the optimum frequency properties. The optimal U-slot microstrip array antenna possibility was confirmed.

  • Planar antennas are very efficient for the use of the out-door data transmission applications due to their low-profile characteristics. But the size of the antenna in UHF band blocks the practical usage. In this paper, a miniaturized planar antenna is investigated for the application of AMR system in UHF band. The designed antenna is fabricated in the form of the microstrip patch on the FR-4 substrate. The miniaturization is achieved by slot-loading on the patch. First, effects of simple slots on the size reduction are analyzed, followed by the design using more complex slots resulting in the reduction ratio of 37.9% in 425.6 MHz and bandwidth of 3.8 MHz. The effect of epoxy coating for the protection is also investigated.

이동체 탑재용 DBS 수신 마이크로스트립 어레이 안테나 설계

  • 이동체 탑재형 안테나는 설치 장소의 특성상 소형화와 경량화가 필수적인 요소이다. 그러므로 이동체 탑재형 안테나의 경우 반사판형 안테나보다 마이크로스트립 어레이 안테나가 널리 쓰이고 있다. 본 고에서는 마이크로 스트립 슬롯 어레이 안테나를 설계하였다. 만족스러운 고 이득을 얻을 수 있으며 동시에 패치 소자의 개수를 줄이기 위해 패치 단일 소자가 가급적 고 이득을 낼 수 있는 구조로 설계하였다. 본 고에서 설계한 슬롯 안테나는 기생슬롯을 가진 H 자형 타입의 소자이다. 설계는 제작상의 오차를 고려하여, 운용 주파수 11.7~12.75 GHz에서 VSWR 1.8:1 이하를 목표로 하였다. 제작된 안테나의 측정결과는 11.7~12.75 GHz대역에 걸쳐 VSWR < 1.8의 만족한 결과를 보이고, 단일 소자의 시뮬레이션 이득 결과는 10 dBi를 보였으며 $4\times4$ 어레이를 했을 경우 이득은 22 dBi의 값을 보였다. 제작되어진 안테나는 추후 급전 네트웍의 최적화를 통해 상호 간섭(Mutual Coupling)을 최소화하여 효율을 최대화한다면 직접 위성 서비스를 수신하기 위한 초소형 안테나로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
