This paper investigates a relationship between a market position of a venture capitalist(i.e.,VC) and its subsequent performance. Although a VC firm may perform better if it occupies a narrow niche(e.g.,specialist), which allows the firm to attain deep insider knowledge and build an identity as an industry expert, a firm may perform better if it has a broader niche(e.g.,generalist), which gives the firm access to more diverse information and opportunities and to effectively spread out potential risks. Given that accesses to valuable information and chances are critical for success in venture capital industry, we hypothesize that venture capitalists with broad niche width are more likely to grow in the future and analyze 26-year data on US venture capital industry. We found that, in general, a firm can enjoy the advantage of having a broad niche. However, the return to having a broad niche varies depending on its status within the market: a return greater for low- status than high-status VC firms. Our finding suggests that explorative efforts may be more rewarding for low-status VC firms.

최근 한국드라마‘겨울연가’를 위시한 일본열도에 부는 한류바람으로‘한국’에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 이에 한국시장에 매력을 느낀 많은 일본기업들이 한국과의 비즈니스를 원하고 있다. 그러나 아직도 일본에서는 한국에 대한 정보가 미흡하고, 한국 스페셜리스트의 부재 등으로 한국기업과의 교류에 적잖은 애로사항을 겪고 있어 안타까운 상황이다.

한국 증권시장은 뉴욕증권거래소와 시장구조가 다르다. 미국 시장에서 많은 연구들은 스페셜 리스트의 고시 스프레드의 결정 요인과 성분에 관한 것이다. 그러나 한국 증권 시장에서는 스페셜 리스트가 없어서 고시 스프레드는 존재하지 않으며, 그 대신 많은 투자자들이 낸 지정가 주문이 시장 스프레드를 구성한다. 본 연구에서는 투자자들이 거래하면서 비용으로 부담하는 실효 스프레드를 거래 전 스프레드와, 접속매매에서만 나타나는 접속매매시 역선택 정보비용으로 구분하였으며, 다시 거래 전 스프레드를 주문처리 비용 및 역선택 비용으로 구분하였다. 두 성분의 역선택 비용은 투자자들간의 경쟁이 커지면 작아질 것으로 기대되었다. 동시호가와 접속매매 등 거래 방법에 따라 스프레드의 크기 및 구성이 달라질 것으로 예상하여 동시호가로만 거래가 체결된 시가와 오후 시가, 종가, 그리고 접속매매로만 거래가 이루어진 오전 종가, 오후 접속매매 종가로 구분하여 일별 수익률을 이용하여 검증하였다. 검증 결과 거래 전 스프레드에서 역선택 비용과 접속매매시 역선택 정보비용은 경쟁이 커질수록 작아진다고 할 수 있었다.

This study is to search for a new area and a new kind of occupation for fashion in the field of multi-media such as a movie, drama, mass-culture and advertisement, as a basic investigation to improve a potential of a development of fashion in the future, to keep in step with the trend of the changes under the environment of cultural renovation. In this reports, the field and vision of new contents in fashion will be proposed. The definition and environment of multi-media were examined, and various kinds and work areas of new fashion specialists were defined. 12 professionals in each fields relative to multi-media were selected and the status of affairs, problems and requirements of fashion specialists were investigated through the in-depth interviews with them. Finally new fields and visions were suggested on it's future course. The kind of fashion-specialist on the field related to multi-media were like this: 1. Fashion-stylist, Art-director and Image-maker for star on the field of Video industry. 2. Fashion-illustrator for making animation-game character, Avatar fashion product designer and Internet shopping buyer for Online-business industry. 3. Fashion PR director, Fashion-photo stylist for Advertisement industry. 1 classified new field on the field related to multi-media as the above, and I researched the role of specialist in each field and the status of affairs and vision.

본 연구에서는 기업인수 합병공시 전후에 관찰되는 매수 매도가격차이중에서 정보비용부분의 움직임을 살펴봄으로써 정보비대칭하의 시장미시구조이론을 검증하였다. 공시일을 예측할 수 없는 기업인수 합병공시를 대상으로 함으로써 효율적시장가설의 검증을 병행하는데 본 연구의 의의가 있다. 검증의 결과는 시장미시구조이론과 효율적시장가설을 지지한다. 공시전 전체기간에 대한 분석에서는 스프레드의 증가가 없었으나 부분기간에 대한 분석에서 스페셜리스트가 스프레드를 증가시키는 것을 확인하였다. 스프레드의 증가는 공시 3일전과 4일전에 나타났으며 이는 정보거래자에 대한 손실을 피하기 위하여 스프레드를 증가시킨다는 이론의 예측과 일치하는 증거이다. 그러나 정보누출과 이의 감지에는 시간차이가 존재하였다. 우호적공개매수와 적대적공개매수의 비교분석에서도 기업인수의 실현여부와 관련된 정보비대칭 현상에 대해 이론의 예측과 일치하는 결과를 얻었다.

21C 고도의 도시화로 인하여 인구과밀화 및 초대형 초고층 건물의 비약적인 확산은 재난의 규모와 양상에 변화를 가져오며, 도시형 재난재해에 대비한 새로운 대책의 필요성을 과제로 안기고 있다. 뿐 만 아니라 지구온난화 및 뉴 테러리즘의 경향은 복합적이고 동시다발적인 재난으로 인한 다수인명피해에 대한 방호기능의 중요성과 통합재난관리 시스템의 중요성을 더욱 부각시키고 있다. 이러한 거시환경의 변화에 따라 다양화된 위험요인에 대한 체계적 대비와 효과적 대응을 위해 분야별 전문대응조직과 스페셜리스트 양성이 시급한 과제로 대두되고 있으며, 특히 재난대응단계에서 지진 등 건물붕괴로 인하여 동시다발적인 초대형 재난재해 시 효율적인 인명구조 활동의 대책으로 도시탐색구조 체계의 선진화 방안이 필요하며, 이를 위하여 소방공무원을 대상으로 실시한 의식조사 분석결과를 제시하고자 한다.

In this study, we suggested the methodology and the results of planning of promising technologies in mechanical engineering by focusing on the case of the Korea Institute of Machinery and Materials (KIMM). For dedicated commitment to planning of promising technologies, KIMM newly introduced task-force called as 'specialist unit'. In addition, KIMM combined the investigation of external environments with the analysis of internal capabilities of KIMM and utilized the bibliographic coupling analysis in the process of the exploring sub themes. Finally, we provided 8 promising fields and their sub themes in the mechanical engineering. Our study contributed to the strategic development of the main research programs of KIMM. Our findings can be also utilized as the best practice of planning of promising technologies in the field of mechanical engineering.

By amending the Japanese School Library Law in 1997, teacher librarians were legally designated for school libraries in Japan. The most important problem of implementing the amended law is how to assigning tasks between teacher librarians and school librarians. It is because that the teacher librarian has not been full time librarian, and school librarian has actually contributed for activation of school library as a professional while there were no teacher librarian. This paper investigates issues and problems related to the amendment of the law, conflicts caused by juxstaposition of teacher librarian and the possibilities of new school librarianship in Japan.
