The Demonstrate Flight For Precision Agriculture Using Remote-Sensing Drones (원격탐사용 드론을 이용한 정밀농업 실증비행)

  • This study deals with the demonstration of precision agriculture technology that can predict the health status of crops by analyzing the vegetation index (NDVI) using a drone equipped with a multi-spectral camera and an EO/IR camera. The multi-spectral camera measures crop reflectance to determine the vegetation index, while the EO/IR camera detects temperature changes in crops to evaluate water stress and health status. Data from this study can improve agricultural productivity and optimize the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Moreover, integrating object recognition technology in the future could turn precision agriculture into a vital alternative for enhancing the sustainability of agriculture.

Development of a Photoplethysmographic method using a CMOS image sensor for Smartphone (스마트폰의 CMOS 영상센서를 이용한 광용적맥파 측정방법 개발)

  • Pulse wave is the physiological responses through the autonomic nervous system such as ECG. It is relatively convenient because it can measure the signal just by applying a sensor on a finger. So, it can be usefully employed in the field of U-Healthcare. The objects of this study are acquiring the PPG (Photoplethysmography) one of the way of measuring the pulse waves in non-invasive way using the CMOS image sensor on a smartphone camera, developing the portable system judging stressful or not, and confirming the applicability in the field of u-Healthcare. PPG was acquired by using image data from smartphone camera without separate sensors and analyzed. Also, with that image signal data, HRV (Heart Rate Variability) and stress index were offered users by just using smartphone without separate host equipment. In addition, the reliability and accuracy of acquired data were improved by developing additional hardware device. From these experiments, we can confirm that measuring heart rate through the PPG, and the stress index for analysis the stress degree using the image of a smartphone camera are possible. In this study, we used a smartphone camera, not commercialized product or standardized sensor, so it has low resolution than those of using commercialized external sensor. However, despite this disadvantage, it can be usefully employed as the u-Healthcare device because it can obtain the promising data by developing additional external device for improvement reliability of result and optimization algorithm.

Photochemical Reflectance Index (PRI) Mapping using Drone-based Hyperspectral Image for Evaluation of Crop Stress and its Application to Multispectral Imagery (작물 스트레스 평가를 위한 드론 초분광 영상 기반 광화학반사지수 산출 및 다중분광 영상에의 적용)

  • The detection of crop stress is an important issue for the accurate assessment of yield decline. The photochemical reflectance index (PRI) was developed as a remotely sensed indicator of light use efficiency (LUE). The PRI has been tested in crop stress detection and a number of studies demonstrated the feasibility of using it. However, only few studies have focused on the use of PRI from remote sensing imagery. The monitoring of PRI using drone and satellite is made difficult by the low spectral resolution image captures. In order to estimate PRI from multispectral sensor, we propose a band fusion method using adjacent bands. The method is applied to the drone-based hyperspectral and multispectral imagery and estimated PRI explain 79% of the original PRI. And time series analyses showed that two PRI data (drone-based and SRS sensor) had very similar temporal variations. From these results, PRI from multispectral imagery using band fusion can be used as a new method for evaluation of crop stress.

Evaluation of thermal stress of poultry according to stocking densities using mumerical BES model (BES 수치모델을 이용한 사육 밀도별 가금류 고온 스트레스 평가)

  • Micro climatic conditions within the livestock facility are affected by various factors such as ventilation, cooling, heating, insulation and latent and sensible heat generation from animals. In this study, numerical BES method was used to simulate energy flow inside the poultry house. Based on the BES method and THI concept, degree of thermal stress of poultry was evaluated according to the locations in South Korea. Comparison of THI values within the poultry house was also carried out according to the stocking densities to reflect recent animal-welfare issue. Significant decrease in thermal stress of poultry was observed when the stocking density of $30kg/m^2$ was applied in the change of the seasons(p<0.05) however, there was no statistically significant difference in summer season(p>0.05). It meant that installation of proper cooling system is urgently needed. For Iksan city of Jeollabuk-do province, total 252 hours of profit for thermal stress was found according to decrease in the stocking density.

Item-Level Psychometrics of the 12 Items of the Coping Orientation to Problems Experienced Scale (스트레스 대처 척도 12개 항목에 대한 심리측정 속성)

  • Objective : This study examined the psychometric properties of the 12-item Coping Orientation to Problems Experienced Scale (COPE) using Rasch analysis. COPE is one of the instruments used to measure stress-coping skills. Methods : The study participants were 480 community-dwelling older adults. We tested the instrument's unidimensionality assumption using principal component analysis (PCA). Item fit was examined using infit-and-outfit mean-square (MnSq) and standardized fit statistics (ZSTD). The precision and item difficulty hierarchies of the instrument were examined. The item-difficulty hierarchy was investigated to identify the easy and difficult items. We tested differential item functioning (DIF) for sex and age groups. Results : PCA revealed that the instrument met the unidimensionality assumption (eigenvalue = 1.78). Among the 12 items, item 2 was removed because of misfit (Infit MnSq = 1.33, Infit ZSTD = 5.05, Outfit MnSq = 1.56, Outfit ZSTD = 7.15). The remaining 11 items demonstrated a conceptual item-difficulty hierarchy. The person strata value was 3.10, which is equivalent to a reliability index value of 0.81. There was no DIF for the sex and age groups (DIF contrast <0.27). Conclusion : The findings indicated that the revised COPE-11 has adequate item-level psychometric properties and can accurately measure stress coping skills.

Effect of Housing Systems of Cage and Floor on the Production Performance and Stress Response in Layer (계사 사육 형태가 산란계의 생산성과 스트레스 반응에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of housing systems on the productivity and physiological response as stress indicators in White Leghorn chickens. The chickens subjected to the conventional cages had a significantly lower viability, hen-housed egg production, egg weight and body weight compared with those to the floor pens. However, the hens housed in the conventional cages had a shorter day of the first egg and a greater egg quality compared with those housed in the floor pens. In addition, this study was also investigated to identify biological markers for assessing the physiological response of chickens under stress conditions. As biological markers, the amount of telomeric DNA was analyzed by quantitative fluorescent in situ hybridization on the nuclei of cells. The DNA damage rate of lymphocytes was also quantified by the comet assay. The amount of telomeric DNA of the lymphocytes, kidney and spleen was significantly higher in the chickens under floor pens than those under conventional cages. The DNA damage also increased in chickens raised under conventional cages, as compared to the chickens under floor pens. As results, we conclude that the chickens housed in conventional cages have a greater stressful status than those housed in floor pens.

A Study on the Effect of Neurofeedback Traing on the hearing impairments Student about Resistance Stress (청각장애 학생들의 일상적 스트레스 저항능력에 뉴로피드백 훈련이 미치는 영향 분석 연구)

  • This study was to examine the effectiveness of neurofeedback training by observing the pre and post brainwave measurement results of about 16(Primary Student 6, middle school student10) student who have shown resistance stress and body stress, mental stress. The study was examined at S city M dong A hearing impairments student, from Mar. 2008 and to Feb. 2009. The methodology used in the study is the Coloring Analysis Program of the Brain Quotient Test. As the brain waves are adjusted by timeseries linear analysis, the brain function quotients can reflect the functional states of the brain. The training took place two times a week, for about 40 minutes per session. The result confirmed the differences of both resistance stress quotient and body stress, mental stress. The results of the analysis show that neurofeedback training plays positive role in changing the brain function. Therefore, the result of the study shows that there is possibility that Neuro Feedback technique might be positively affecting resistance stress of the hearing impairments student, relationship between neurofeedback training and stress among several categories.

Risk Factors for Depression, Anxiety, and Stress in Patients with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (다낭난소증후군 환자에서의 우울, 불안, 스트레스를 유발하는 위험 인자)

  • The aim of this study was to evaluate anxiety, depression and stress in women with polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS) and to investigate the risk factors related to psychological difficulties. Sixty women with PCOS were evaluated for level of psychological stress using Beck depression inventory(BDI) and Depression anxiety stress scale(DASS) questionnaire. Serum antimullerian hormone, total testosterone, lutenizing hormone, follicle stimulating hormone, estradiol, lipid profile and 75g oral glucose tolerance test were measured. Thirty healthy women served as the control. Fifty two women with PCOS and 29 healthy women completed a questionnaire. Women with depression who scored >13 by BDI and >10 by DASS were 38.5 %, women with anxiety who scored >8 by DASS were 23.1 %, and women with stress who scored >15 by DASS were 30.8 %, which were significantly higher than control. In PCOS women, total testosterone, LH and AMH were significantly correlated with depression and stress. Weight, body mass index and waist-hip ratio were also significantly correlated with depression. In women diagnosed as diabetes and hyperlipidemia, depression and stress were significantly prevalent. Women with PCOS seemed to be more vulnerable to depression, anxiety and stress. Early diagnosis and management should be considered.

The Change of Traffic Accident Risk Degree by Driving Stress Coping Patterns (운전스트레스 대처방식에 따른 교통사고 위험의 변화)

  • This study was intended to validate and develop the driving stress coping behavior scale. In a preliminary investigation, literature studies on the driving stress and open questionnaire were administered and examined in four regions in Korea. As a result, 64 items driving stress questionnaire were developed. In the study, this Driving Stress Coping Behavior Scale(DS-CBS) was examined to 372 drivers located seven regions in Korea. The factors analysis revealed 2 meaningful factors[(Good Coping: GC), (Bad Coping: BC) with 24 items. When internal consistency for each 2 factor was calculated, all sub-scale revealed a satisfactory level of Cronbach's α. Also, correlations with Driver Coping Questionnaire(DCQ) and risk driving behaviors(speed driving, drunken driving, traffic violation, offence accident, defence accident) supported consistently validity of the Driving Stress Coping Behavior Scale(DS-CBS). Also, We investigated the influences of 'Good Coping', 'Bad Coping' consisting of driving stress coping behavior, on traffic accidents risk. As a result, 'Good Coping' and 'Bad Coping' influenced traffic accidents risk. 'Good Coping' had decreased effects, the other side 'Bad Coping' had increased effects on traffic accidents risk(TARI).
