A Modified Gaussian Model-based Low Complexity Pre-processing Algorithm for H.264 Video Coding Standard (H.264 동영상 표준 부호화 방식을 위한 변형된 가우시안 모델 기반의 저 계산량 전처리 필터)

  • In this paper, we present a low complexity modified Gaussian model based pre-processing filter to improve the performance of H.264 compressed video. Video sequence captured by general imaging system represents the degraded version due to the additive noise which decreases coding efficiency and results in unpleasant coding artifacts due to higher frequency components. By incorporating local statistics and quantization parameter into filtering process, the spurious noise is significantly attenuated and coding efficiency is improved for given quantization step size. In addition, in order to reduce the complexity of the pre-processing filter, the simplified local statistics and quantization parameter are introduced. The simulation results show the capability of the proposed algorithm.

  • In this study, it has been aimed that the accuracy of position control be increased by microstep drive to the 2 phase 8 pole HB type prototype of linear pulse motor of which winding are applied sine wave current and the vibration and noise in the lower speed region be decreased. The fixed off-time method which controls the exciting current bandwidth, was applied to the microstep current controller. When the LPM was driven 1/8 microstep its accuracy of position was 0.109[mm] (=tooth pitch 3.5[mm] ). Also, the elimination method of harmonics in the static thrust force is proposed. It was confirmed that the position error range of the prototype LPM was $\pm$0.2[mm].

  • The MCS(Micro-coplanar strip) line has been analyzed. The conformal mapping method is used to calculate the quasi-static effective permittivity and characteristic impedance of this MCS line. The computed results of the present work are found to be in good agreement when compared with the results obtained using commercial S/W, IE3D. And in this paper, the stepped-impedance low pass microstrip filter is designed and fabricated with MCS lines for improving the frequency responses. The LPF proposed structure has been also designed and implemented to have the sharp attenuation characteristics in stop band. The agreement between simulation and measurement results verify the implemented LPF.

  • The ultimate target cf this study is to develop ship's Digital Compass that can substitute for conventional ship's Magnetic Compass. At first, a new Digital Compass system consisting of three-axis Flux-gate sensors and small sized step motor was developed Then, new deviation adjustment theory incorporating with Kalman filter method was proposed through which automatic deviation analysis and correction are obtainable without ship's swinging procedures. The effectiveness of developed Digital Compass and proposed deviation adjustment theory are verified throughout the performance evaluation tests on the training ship 'SAE-NU-RI'.

  • This paper describes error resilient coding scheme is added in WLL system and its application for robust low-bit rate still image transmission over power controlled W-CDA system Rayleigh fading channels. The baseline JPEG compressing methods are uses in image coding over wireless channel. The channel uses Reed-Solomon(RS) outer codes concatenated with convolutional inner codes, and truncated type I hybrid ARQ protocol based on the selective repeat strategy and the RS error detection capability. Simulation results are proved for the statistics of the frame-error bursts of the proposed system in comparison with conventional WLL system. it gains the 2 dB of the Eb/No in same BER.

  • This paper is given a full detail of mathematical analyses of input current and output voltage for a novel active type power factor correction (PFC) converter. These are compared with harmonics components of input current for a conventional PFC converter. The proposed PFC converter is constructed in using a new loss-less snubber circuit to achieve a soft switching of control device. Also the proposed converter for discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) eliminates the complicated circuit control requirement and reduces the size of components. The input current waveform in the proposed converter is got to be a sinusoidal form of discontinuous pulse in proportion to magnitude of ac input voltage under the constant duty cycle switching. Therefore, input power factor is nearly unity and the control method is simple. Particularly, the stored energy of loss-less snubber capacitor is recovered with input side and increases input current from resonant operation. The result is that input power factor of the proposed converter is higher than that of conventional PFC converter. Some simulative results on computer and experimental results are included to confirm the validity of the analytical results.

  • This paper proposes a design and experiment of three phase interleaved dc-dc converter for 5kW battery charger. The charger consists of a three-phase interleaved dc-dc converter, which interfaces batteries and DC link, and a grid connected inverter. Lead-acid battery is modeled in a simple R-C model by matlab. Parameters of the battery are estimated based on step current discharging test. The battery is connected to three-phase interleaved DC-DC converter in order to reduce the ripple current to the battery and so, increase the lifetime of battery. Controller for charging and discharging mode is designed and tested in a 5kW charger prototype.

  • 본 연구는 국내 산사태 발생 데이터를 기반으로 시뮬레이션 모델을 머신러닝 기법을 통해 학습시켜 산사태의 토석류 흐름을 구현하는 알고리즘에 대한 연구이다. 전통적인 프로그래밍을 통한 산사태 시뮬레이션 모델 개발을 해당 시스템에 더 많은 고도의 물리학 법칙을 통합 적용시켜 토석류의 흐름을 공학적으로 재현해내는데 중점을 두고 개발이 진행되지만, 본 연구에서 다루는 머신러닝 기법을 통한 산사태 시뮬레이션 모델 개발의 경우 시스템에 입력되는 데이터를 기반으로한 학습을 통하여 토석류 흐름에 영향을 미치는 변수와 파라메터를 산출하고 정의는데 중점을 두고 개발이 진행된다. 본 연구에서 산사태 시뮬레이션 모델 개발에 활용하는 머신러닝 알고리즘은 강화학습 알고리즘으로 기존 산사태 발생 지점을 기반으로 에이전트를 설정해 시간에 따라 시뮬레이션의 각 스텝에서 토석류의 흐름 즉 액션을 환경에 따른 가중치를 기준으로 산정하게 된다. 여기서 환경에 따른 가중치는 시뮬레이션 모델에 정의된 메서드에 따라 산정된다. 시간이 목표값에 도달하여 결과가 출력되면 출력된 결과와 해당 산사태 발생 지점의 실제 산사태 피해 지역 데이터 즉 시뮬레이션 결과 이상치와의 비교를 통하여 시뮬레이션을 평가하게 된다. 이러한 평가는 시뮬레이션 데이터와 실제 데이터간의 유사도 비교를 통해 손실률을 도출하게 되고 이러한 손실률을 경사하강법등의 최적화 알고리즘을 통해 최소화 하여 입력된 데이터를 기반으로한 최적의 토석류 흐름 구현 알고리즘을 도출한다.

  • In this paper, we proposed the electric circuit using one common arm of H-Bridge Inverters to reduce the number of switching component in multi-level inverter combined with H-Bridge Inverters and Transformers. and furthermore we suggested the new multi-level PWM inverter using PWM level to reduce THD(Total Harmonic Distortion). and we used the phase-shift switching method that can be same rate of usage at each transformer. Also, we tested the proposed prototype 9-level inverter to clarify the proposed electric circuit and reasonableness of control signal for the proposed multi-level PWM inverter.

  • The RFID market seems to grow mostly in the logistics and distribution areas. The areas and small sized work places requires multi-steps based system. In the environment, the performance of RFID READER is the most important factor. If RFID READER fails to operate frequency well, it will be difficult to apply RFID technology to work places and manage multi-readers used in a narrow place. This work reveals that making possible multiple readers environment and reporting the state of the entire upgrade are of significant in terms of the system's functions. This thesis studied RFID reader platform with self-diagnosis function.
