Seismic Response Analysis of a Two-Mass Rack System Considering Frictional Behavior (마찰거동을 고려한 이중질량시스템의 지진응답해석)

  • This study proposes seismic response analysis technique of a two-mass rack system which sustains heavy loads with frictional behavioral characteristics. In order to deal with the nonlinear frictional characteristics of the mass on the rack system, the equations of motion of the system has been derived and the appropriate numerical simulation technique has been developed. In order to examine the seismic performance of the proposed system, we consider two parameters that are expected to have great influence on the seismic performance of the system. One is the ratio of the two masses of the load and the rack structure, and the other is the friction coefficient between rack and loaded mass. A number of numerical simulations of the seismic response of structures with various natural frequencies for both parameters have been performed in order to investigate the seismic safety of the rack structures. From the simulated results. it is observed that the maximum displacement of the rack system tends to decrease drastically as the natural frequency of the structure increases regardless of the two parameters of mass ratio and friction coefficient. The proposed study provides important reference data to guarantee the seismic safety of the rack system by considering nonlinear frictional behavior of the loaded mass.

A Study on the Packing Friction Estimation of Power-Operated Valves in Nuclear Power Plants (원전 동력구동 밸브 패킹 마찰력 예측에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to estimate the packing friction of power-operated valve in nuclear power plants. The roll of packing in valve is preventing leakage through stem. Packing friction is highly depend on gland nut tightness which means higher reliability in sealing is lower operability. For the estimation of friction, we used statistical analysis and experimental analysis. In experimental approach, we have performed packing fY test and applied it to valve field test. In statistical approach, we have used 10 years DB of safety-related valve in nuclear power plant and analyzed packing friction based on confidence interval of sample. The comparison of two results shows that statistical analysis for packing friction are more accurate than fY analysis even though both approach have error compared to measured value but we confirmed that statistical approach is proper way to estimate packing friction.

Experimental Study on the Leakage Characteristics of Stem Seals Depending on the Driving Distance of the LPG Vehicle (LP차량의 주행거리에 따른 스템시일의 누설특성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • This paper presents the experimental results on the oil leakage characteristics of stem seals depending on the driving distance in LPG vehicle. The increased speeds of the camshaft and oil temperatures do not affect to the oil leakage of the seals because of the low level of driving distances less than 40,000 km. But the increased driving distance over 50,000 km to 100,000 km shows a rapid deteriorating the sealing performance, which may increase the oil leakage through the rubbing surfaces between the poppet valves and stem seals. In this result, the stem seal may be exchanged about the driving distance of 50,000 km to 60,000 km with a currently used stem seal in LPG car. Thus, the stem seal for a poppet valve should be resigned for the increased durability and long life.

  • For the evaluation of operability of MOV(Motor Operated Valve), the precision prediction of thrust/torque acting on the valve is important. In this paper, the analytical prediction method of thrust/torque was proposed. The design basis stem thrust calculation typically considers the followings: Packing thrust, Stem rejection load, design basis differential pressure load. In general, test results show that temperature, pressure, fluid type, and differential pressure, independently and combination, all have an effect on the friction factor. The prediction results of thrust/torque are well agrement with dynamic test results.

  • 본 논문은 H-형상 단면의 측대칭 부품에대하여 컴퓨터에 의한 열간단조 공정설계 및 금형설계 시스템을 개발하고 슬래브 해석법을 이용한 단조 시뮬레이션 프로그램을 통하여 단조하중을 예측하고자 한다. 이 시 스템을 수행하기 위한 컴퓨터 프로그램의 입력사항은 축대칭 H-형상 단조품 단면의 기하학적 형상, 소재비 도는 단조비, 마찰조건, 램속도, 다조온도, 소재 및 다이 재료명 등이다. 시스템의 실행 후 얻은 결과들은 실제 산업 현장의 요구에 맞추어 빌렛 형상, 예비 성형체, 그리고 최종다이 및 예비성형 다이가 도면화 되 어 출력된다. 수행된 출력결과가 사용자의 요구와 일치하지 않을 경우 입력사항을 변경하여 재 설계할 수 있도록 되어 있다. 그리고 본 시스템은 크게 세개의 모듈 즉, 공정설계 모듈, 시뮬레이션 모듈 등으로 구성되어 있고 각각의 모듈은 독립적으로 또는 통합하여 수행된다.

  • Direct acting pressure relief valve applicable to propellant tank of launch vehicle is modeled in this study The flow resistance of the partially opened valve is modeled as a function of the distance of the valve stem from the resting position. The position of the valve varies transiently as a function of its mass, the spring force, sliding friction, and the pressure differential. Choking at valve throat and compressibility are considered for the analysis. This study presents systematic analysis method for pressure relief valve applicable to propellant tank of liquid rocket. The results shows transient flow resistance caused by stem motion and the importance of choking at valve throat for pressure relief valve design.

Experimental Study on the Safety of a Valve for a Special Gas Cylinder (특수가스용기용 밸브의 안전성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • This paper presents an experimental study on the safety of a valve for a special gas cylinder. The test valves that were randomly dismantled from the special gas cylinder were experimented on the gas leakage and operation safeties. The crack, wear and deformation of the valve body, screw thread, safety disk, vent hole, stem and handle components that may affect to the gas leakage safety of a used valve were not found in this experimental study. A painted handle of a valve was partly stripped from the coated surface, and the surface of PT screw of a used valve body was rusted. But, these paint and rust problems do not affected to the gas leakage safety of used valves. And there was no gas leakage in the dismantled valve, and the permanent deformation and partial scars of a valve stem and O-rings were observed on the rubbing surfaces. Thus, the valve seat and O-rings are recommended to be replaced for a gas leakage safety of a dismantled valve. And it is necessary to repair and inspect handle fastening forces for a safe opening and closing operations of a valve.

Effect of UV-Absorber Treatment on the Mechanical Properties of Cotton Fabrics (자외선 차단 가공에 의한 면직물의 역학적 특성 변화)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 자외선 차단 가공 처리 및 자외선 조사처리에 의해 면직물의 역학적 특성 변화를 조사하고 가공제 처리조건에 따른 차이점을 분석하는 것이다. 시료로는 100% 면직물을, 자외선 흡수제로 2,2'-dihydroxy-4,4'-dimethoxy benzophenone을, 첨가제로 Triton X-100, polyethylene glycol 400, MgCl$_2$.6$H_2O$를 사용하였다. 자외선 흡수제 처리는 Atlas Launder-O-meter로 75$^{\circ}C$에서 60분간 흡진법으로 하였다. 미처리 시료 및 처리시료는 모두 xenon 램프에 80시간 동안 노출되었으며, 자외선 조사 전후 시료의 역학적 특성은 KES-F시스템을 사용하여 측정하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같이 요약할 수 있다. 자외선 흡수제 처리는 처리 농도에 상관없이 면직물의 선형인장성(LT), 인장레질리언스(RT), 굽힘강성(B), 굽힘이력(2HB), 전단강성(G), 전단이력(2HG5), 표면마찰계수(MIU)등을 증가시켰으며 표면거칠기(SMD)는 감소시켰다. 압축특성은 처리농도의 영향을 받아서 고농도의 자외선 흡수제 처리는 압축특성을 감소시켰으며, 저농도의 처리는 압축특성을 증가시켰다. 자외 선 흡수제 처리는 처리농도에 상관없이 면직물의 fullness/softness를 유의하게 증가시키는 반면 stiffness, crispness및 anti-drape stiffness를 감소시켜서 가공포의 종합태(THV)는 가공 전에 비하여 저하하였다. 자외선 조사는 가공 전 면직물의 경우 B, 2HB, G, 2HG, 2HG5, LC를 감소시켰다. 자외선 조사는 처리농도와 상관없이 가공포의 WT, 굽힘특성 , 전단특성을 감소시켰으며, 저농도의 흡수제 처리포의 경우 SMD를 증가시켰으며, 고농도의 흡수제 처리포의 경우 SMD를 감소시켰다. 자외선 조사는 처리농도와 상관없이 가공포의fullness/softness, stiffness, anti-drape stiffness를 유의하게 감소시켜서 자외선 조사 전 보다 THV가 37% 저하하였고 미 가공포의 THV를 저하율보다는 저하가 낮았다. 자외선 흡수제 처리에 의해 면직물의 태는 가공 전보다 감소하지만, 자외선 흡수제 처리는 자외선 조사에 의한 태 감소율을 낮추는 데 유의 한 효과가 있다.

THE ORBIT DETERMINATION OF LEO SATELLITES USING EXTENDED KALMAN FILTER (확장 칼만 필터를 이용한 LEO 위성의 궤도결정 방법)

  • We studied the nonlinear estimation problem of extended Kalman filter and appled this method to LEO satellite system. Through this method the performance of extended Kalman filter was analyzed. There were certain presumption taken; J2 and atmospheric drag were simply considered in the dynamic model of LEO satellite and the system noise error of $\sigma_r$=150m, $\sigma_r$=10m/s was presumed in the observation data. As results of this simulation, the overall state estimation errors of extended Kalman filter were within the presumed error range and also the ability of performance was maximized when the condition was the state process noise Q has the 1/10 level of covariance matrix Po.
