A study of recovery and recycling from Tin wasted resources (주석 함유 폐 자원으로부터 주석 회수 및 재활용 방안 연구)

  • 주석은 최근 첨단 전기, 전자 제품의 핵심 소재로써 지속적인 수요 증가가 예상되는 전략 금속이다. 국내의 수요량은 2011년 기준 약 17,000톤 으로 99% 이상 수입에 의존하고 있는 실정이다. 그러나, 국내의 주석 제련 산업은 전무한 상태이며 폐자원에서 재활용하는 회수 기술도 초보 단계이다. 이러한 폐자원 발생량은 12,000톤/year이며, 약 1200억원에 달하는 규모이다. 다양한 폐자원의 선별적 전처리 요소 기술 개발 및 회수 공정 시스템 개발이 절실히 요구된다. 본 연구에서는, 주석 폐자원 중 solder 용융물 및 공정 스크랩 Lead solder, Lead-free solder 등 뿐만 아니라, ITO target 제조 시 발생하는 ITO sludge 등의 고상 폐자원으로부터 페자원의 물성을 파악하여 금속/산화물과의 파/분쇄 및 분급공정을 통하여 고품위의 주석 금속을 회수하였다. 뿐만 아니라, 고순도 주석시 발생하는 양극 슬라임 침출액 등의 액상 폐자원으로부터 희소금속의 추출 및 회수를 위해 습식 전처리 공정을 수행하였다. 침출액은 주석, 구리, 납 등의 유가금속이 이온형태로 존재하고 있으며, Chlorine이 다량 함유되어 있다. 고품위의 주석 산화물을 회수하기 위하여 침출액 내의 구리 제거 공정, Chlorine 제거 공정 등을 순차적으로 수행하여 고품위의 산화물 회수를 수행하였다.

  • In this work, the properties of environmentally friendly functional panel made from waste aluminum were investigated. Product quality enhancement was pursued through an improved viscosity process, a mixing process by agitating, a foaming process, a cooling process, and a color addition process. An acoustic transmission attenuation test, a sound adsorption rate measurement test, and a foaming condition and scrap mixing test were implemented. As a result, the functional panel made from waste aluminum was ultra lightweight and had excellent properties such as soundproof, sound interception, and shielding harmful electromagnetic waves. Also, the functional panel showed low thermal conductivity (about 2.2 kcal/mh) and excellent heat-insulating property.

  • The recent trend of recycle of mold scrap is to make high quality secondary ingot which can be used as raw malerial undcr intensive control of scrap. In this study, recycle of aluminum chlp generated atter machinmg process of castings was performed by vortex melting melhod Vortex melting technique was adopted for chip mclting process. The condition far optimal vortcx depth was decided using water mndellng experiment varying the shape, location, rotating speed of stlircr and watcr levcl. Before melting, chips were preheated at room temperame, 200, 300, $ 400^{\circ}C$and then submerged in the mirldle of vortex. The lecovery rale depending on the temperature was examined. As a result vortex depth was influenccd only by shape and rotating speed of stirrer, and the hlghest recovery rate oI 97% was obta~nedw hcn the submerged chip was preheated at $300^{\circ}C.$

  • Waste aluminum dross was processed to prepare alum with sulfuric acid, and poly aluminum chloride(PAC) with hydrochloric acid. Metallic aluminum remained in the waste dross was dissolved into the sulfuric acid solution, and the solution could be used as alum for water treatment chemicals after adjusting the required alumina concentration and pH of the solution. Also, it was dissolved into the hydrochloric acid solution and processed to make PAC solution. Compared with the conventional method for preparation of alum and PAC using aluminum hydroxide, material cost could be saved in this method. Also, there is an additional merit in view of recycling of the waste aluminum dross by reducing the amount of waste disposed to landfill.

Carbothermal Reduction of Oxide Powder Prepared from Waste WC/Co Hardmetal by Solid Carbon (WC/Co 초경 스크랩 산화물의 고체탄소에 의한 환원/침탄)

  • In the present study, the focus is on the analysis of carbothermal reduction of oxide powder prepared from waste WC/Co hardmetal by solid carbon under a stream of argon for the recycling of the WC/Co hard-metal. The oxide powder was prepared by the combination of the oxidation and crushing processes using the waste $WC-8 wt.\%Co$ hardmetal as the raw material. This oxide powder was mixed with carbon black, and then this mixture was carbothermally reduced under a flowing argon atmosphere. The changes in the phase structure and gases discharge of the mixture during carbothermal reduction was analysed using XRD and gas analyzer. The oxide powder prepared from waste $WC-8wt.\%Co$ hardmetal has a mixture of $WO_{3} and CoWO_{4}$. This oxide powder reduced at about $850^{\circ}C$, formed tungsten carbides at about $950^{\circ}C$, and then fully transformed to a mixed state of tungsten carbide (WC) and cobalt at about $1100^{\circ}C$ by solid carbon under a stream of argon. The WC/Co composite powder synthesized at $1000^{\circ}C$ for 6 hours from oxide powder of waste $WC-8wt.\%Co$ hardmetal has an average particle size of $0.3 {\mu}m$.

  • In this paper, we design and implement the UCC services prototype system for image and video. The proposed system consists of the two components such as the multimedia processing subsystem and the metadata management subsystem. It provides the API to UCC service developers. The multimedia processing subsystem supports the media management and editing of image and video, and the streaming services of video. The metadata management subsystem supports the metadata management and retrieval of image and video. The reply management and script processing of UCC are given in the subsystem.

  • In 2005, the imports of titanium metals was about 22.8 million US$(7,700 tons) in Korea. New scrap produced was estimated to be 359 tons and the exports were about 352 tons. Generally scrap is recylced into titanium ingot either with or without virgin metal using traditional vacuum-arc-melting and cold hearth melting. In Korea, there is no titanium ingot producers(recyclers). In this paper, the brief summary of major titanium melting technology, such as vacuum arc remelting(VAR), electron beam melting(EBM), plasma arc melting(PAM) is given and discussed. In view of titanium market situation of Korea, the technological development of ingot production from scrap is big problem to be solved in order to realize extensive cost reduction for titanium products.

Topic Analysis of Papers of JKIICE Using Text Mining (텍스트 마이닝을 이용한 한국정보통신학회 논문지의 주제 분석)

  • In this paper, we analyzed 3,668 papers of JKIICE from 2007 to 2016 using text mining methods for understanding research fields. We used web scraping programs of Python language for data collection, and utilized topic modeling methods based on LDA algorithm implemented by R language. In the results, we verified that representative research areas of JKIICE could be downsized to 9 areas only by the analysis though the submission areas were 19 areas by 2016.

  • In order to recover valuable metals from fine-grained electronic waste, bioleaching of Cu, Zn, Al, Co, Ni, Sn and Pb were carried out using Aspergillus niger as a leaching microorganism in a shaking flask. Aspergillus niger was able to grow in tile presence of electronic scrap. The formation of organic acids(citric and oxalic acid) from Aspergillus niger caused the mobilization of metals from waste electronic scrap. In a preliminary study, in order to obtain the data on the leaching of Cu, Zn, Al, Co and Ni, the metal leaching behaviours were accomplished using Organic acid(Citric acid and Oxalic acid) instead of Aspergillus niger. At the electronic scrap concentration of 50g/L, Aspergillus niger were able to leach more than 95% of the available Cu, Co. But Al, Zn, Pband Sn were able to leach about 15-35%. Ni and Fe were detected in the leachate less than 10%.

  • With an increased production of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) in electronic equipment, the consumption of solder alloys is growing globally. Recently, increasing importance of recycling solder scrap has been recognized. Generally, solder scrap contains many impurities such as plastics and other metals. Hazardous components must be eliminated for recycling solder scrap. The present work studied pretreatment for reuse of solder scrap alloys. An experiment was conducted to enhance the cleanliness of solder scrap melt and eliminate impurities, especially lead. Physical separation with sieving and magnetic force was made along with pyrometallurgical methods. A small decrease in lead concentration was found by high temperature treatment of solder scrap melt. The impurities were removed by filtration of the solder scrap melt, which resulted in improvement of the melt cleanliness. A very low concentration of lead was achieved by a zone melting treatment with repeated passage. This study reports on a pretreatment process for the reuse of solder scrap that is lead free.
