A New Energy Recovery Snubber for Boost Converter (부스트 컨버터용 새로운 에너지 재생 스너버)

  • The power diode's reverse recovery current when switching on the main switch results in losses of the switch in boost converter. The high turn-on losses can be controlled by snubber circuit. In this paper, a new snubber circuit which can reduce the turn-on current stress mentioned above and recover trapped snubber energy in capacitor is proposed for boost converter. The control of boost converter with proposed snubber is the same as the conventional one. In addition, the energy recovery circuit can be implemented with a few passive components. The analysis for proposed circuit is presented, and the validity of the circuit is verified through simulation and experiment.

A Study on the Low Noise Medical SMPS (의료용 SMPS 개발 및 노이즈 감소 대책에 대한 연구)

  • The main noise sources in SMPS are divided into three parts: the switching devices, the rectifiers in secondary part, the output transformer and choke coil. In this paper we performed the noise analysis with respect to bobbin type and winding method, and designed an optimized transformer focusing on the transformer. For the comparison. we measured four parameters for each cases, including EMI conducted emission noise. signal from the switching devices, output ripple/noise voltage and leakage current. As the result, the transformer using a vertically-typed bobbin and a parallel, sandwich winding method showed the best performance. We confirmed that the SMPS developed in this research is satisfied with the IEC 601-1 international standard for the medical instrumentation. by testing its electrical characteristics and safety.

  • In this paper the process of transmitting images signal restore to image corrupted by impulse noise proposed switching mean filter. these filter is differential size using the two state noise detection distinguishes noise pixel and noise free pixel. Follow the detected impulse noise density in the image remove the impulse noise using switching mean filter these substituted pixel in order to non-recursive and recursive form from control process of the next pixel comes to be used with neighbor pixel process. Through the simulation, we compared with the existing methods and capabilties.

  • Among the characteristics of SRM, due to nonlinearity, it is difficult to properly operate to form maximum torque and minimum torque pulsation. In addition, in the case of fixed switching angle control, torque formation according to speed variation is unstable, thereby reducing efficiency. Therefore, active switching angle control according to speed variation is required. Therefore, active switching angle control according to speed variation is required. In this paper, a method for improving driving performance by reducing torque ripple by automatic control of the advance angle and increasing output torque was sought from the problem caused by the nonlinearity of the SRM. In addition, the optimal operation of SRM due to the switching variable according to the performance of the hysteretic current controller was examined.

  • Image processing is being used in various forms in important fields of the 4th industrial revolution, such as artificial intelligence, smart factories, and the IoT industry. In particular, in systems that require data processing such as object tracking, medical images, and object recognition, noise removal is used as a preprocessing step, but the existing algorithm has a drawback in that blurring occurs in the filtering process. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a filter algorithm using switching fuzzy weights. The proposed algorithm switches the fuzzy function by dividing the low-frequency region and the high-frequency region by the standard deviation of the filtering mask, and obtains the final output according to the fuzzy weight. The proposed algorithm showed improved results compared to the existing method, and showed excellent characteristics in the region where the high-frequency component is strong.

  • This paper propose the method that measure the main system parameters for current control of a.c. motor adopting the vector control technique. The automatical method that tuning PI control gains for current control of servo motors are used frequently through the information of main system parameters, wire resistance and inductance. In this study, the techniques to measure these two system parameters through the control of 3-phase inverter are presented. These control and measuring method are implemented by measuring output phase current obtained as a results of the step current control using simple proportional feedback input. Moreover, this method use freewheeling current of inverter at special switching mode for measuring inductance. This analytic strategy is could measure and calculate the system parameters without the complex measurement algorithm and new additional measuring circuits. That is could measure the total resistance and total inductance including wiring resistance and conduction resistance of switching devices using real driving circuits to control the motors.

  • For general laser power supply to control the laser power density, the secondary of the power transformer is connected to the rectifier and filter capacitor. The output of a rectifier is applied to a switching element in the secondary of the transformer. So power supply is complicated and the loss of switching is considerably. In addition, according to increasing pulse repetition rate, charged energy of energy-storage capacitor bank is not transferred sufficiently to flashlamp, and laser output efficiency decreases. In this study, we have proposed the power supply in which the SCR was turned on at the zero point of input AC voltage by the method of zero cross control(ZCC). As a result of that, The new power supply employed ZCC are simple and compact in design. And laser output efficiency increased by the 3.5$\%$ other than conventional power supply (SCADC), when a repetition rate was increased by the 10pps. In 60pps, efficiency was increased by about 20$\%$.

  • A method of soft switching in the half bridge converter using a small saturable core is presented. For the soft switching, a small dead time of both switch off is made in a pair of MOSFET switch. The saturable core is of rectangular magnetization characteristics and the core flux swings from the minus to the plus saturation during ON time of the switch. The soft switching is realized in dead time by a resonance between the saturating inductance of the core and the stray capacitance of MOSFET. As an extension of this concept, instead of the saturable core, we propose a new soft switching circuit using a linear inductance and two switches, which is especially suitable for regulating the output and also for high frequency switching. A theoretical principle of soft switching presented here was confirmed by experiments on a half bridge converter of 1.25 KW.

A Study on the LCC Type High Frequency DC/DC Converter for Contactless Power Supply System (비접촉 전원장치에 적용한 LCC형 고주파 공진 DC/DC 컨버터에 관한 연구)

  • This paper represents characteristics and design example of series loaded LCC type high frequency resonant DC-DC converter with variable parallel capacitor in the secondary side of inductive power transformer. In this converter, ZVS(zero voltage switching) technique is applied to reduce turn-off switching losses, and the applied converter used the PFM switching pattern to control output voltage. The operating characteristics of the proposed converter is analyzed using nomalized parameter such as switching frequency and load factor with varing the secondary parallel resonant capacitor. The results of analysis show the operating characteristics and design method of the proposed converter using characteristic values. And the proposed converter can be applied for the contactless power supply with linear transfer system such as dean room facilities of semiconductor and Flat Panel Display.

  • Recently, due to physical limitation of Si based power semiconductor, development speed of switching power semiconductors is falling and it is difficult to expect any further performance improvements. SiC based power semiconductor with superior characteristic than Si-based power semiconductor have been developed to overcome these limitations. however, there is not method to apply for real system. Therefore, suggested the feasibility and solution for SiC-based power semiconductor system. design to 1kW class DC-DC boost converter and demonstrated the superiority of SiC MOSFET under the same operating conditions by analyzing switching frequency, duty ratio, voltage and current, and comparing with Si based power semiconductor through experimental efficiency according to each system load. The SiC MOSFET has high efficiency and fast switching speed, and can be designed with small inductors and capacitors which has the advantage of volume reduction of the entire system.
