  • As the next generation technology, leading 4th industrial revolution has been progressed, the goods and services converged by the technology are being released in a market. The smart appliances among them attracts users' attentions as a key promising industry. Thus, this study investigates the factors that influence switching intention to smart appliances based on Push-Pull-Mooring framework. We collected 217 survey responses and formed structural equation modeling with AMOS 22.0. The results show that functional deprivation, money deprivation, alternative attractiveness had an effect on the switching intention to smart appliances. In addition, low switching cost is related to the relationship between external variables and switching intention. The results expect to provide useful information to the smart appliance-related companies.

  • In this paper, we proposed a face recognition network which attempts to use more facial features awhile using smaller number of training sets. When combining the neural network together for face recognition, we want to use networks that use different part of the facial features. However, the network training chooses randomly where these facial features are obtained. Other hand, the judgment basis of the network model can be expressed as a saliency map through gradCAM. Therefore, in this paper, we use gradCAM to visualize where the trained face recognition model has made a observations and recognition judgments. Thus, the network combination can be constructed based on the different facial features used. Using this approach, we trained a network for small face recognition problem. In an simple toy face recognition example, the recognition network used in this paper improves the accuracy by 1.79% and reduces the equal error rate (EER) by 0.01788 compared to the conventional approach.

  • Wireless network support and extended mobile network environment with exponential growth of smart phone users allow us to utilize the network anytime or anywhere. Malicious attacks such as distributed DOS, internet worm, e-mail virus and so on through high-speed networks increase and the number of patterns is dramatically increasing accordingly by increasing network traffic due to this internet technology development. To detect the patterns in intrusion detection systems, an existing research proposed an efficient algorithm called the jumping window algorithm and analyzed approximately 2,000 patterns in Snort 2.1.0, the most famous intrusion detection system. using the algorithm. However, it is inappropriate from the number of TCAM lookups and TCAM memory efficiency to use the result proposed in the research in current environment (Snort 2.9.0) that has longer patterns and a lot of patterns because the jumping window algorithm is affected by the number of patterns and pattern length. In this paper, we simulate the number of TCAM lookups and the required TCAM size in the jumping window with approximately 8,100 patterns from Snort-2.9.0 rules, and then analyse the simulation result. While Snort 2.1.0 requires 16-byte window and 9Mb TCAM size to show the most effective performance as proposed in the previous research, in this paper we suggest 16-byte window and 4 18Mb-TCAMs which are cascaded in Snort 2.9.0 environment.

  • The Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) specification permits networked devices to discover each other and to provide diverse services in the home network environment. Recently, new paradigms such as mobile connected computing, cloud-based service delivery, smart device content sharing, and Internet of Things (IoT) have emerged, but the home network based UPnP shows functional limitations in supporting such paradigms. To support them, the UPnP Forum has recently extended the capabilities of the existing UPnP, calling it UPnP+. In this paper, the UPnP Device Architecture V2.0 (UDA 2.0), which forms the basis of UPnP+, is presented. We present how UDA 2.0 enables the expansion of the home network to wide-area networks and non-IP device domains.

  • The distributed trigger counting problem is to notify the user when the total number of triggers received from a distributed system consisting of n nodes reaches a predefined value w. The distributed trigger counting problem is used for monitoring and global snapshots in various distributed systems. In this paper, we propose a simple and efficient algorithm for the distributed trigger counting problem. The proposed algorithm operates based on a tree structure of degree $\sqrt{n}$ and height 2. The proposed algorithm operates in three different phases based on the remaining number of triggers. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm has a smaller message complexity than CoinRand, and MaxRcv also performed better when the number of nodes is not large.

  • The traffic vulnerable, including elderly pedestrians, have a relatively low walking speed and slow cognitive response time due to reduced physical ability. Although a smart crossing system has been developed and operated to improve problem, it is difficult to operate a signal that reflects the appropriate walking speed for each pedestrian. In this study, a neural network model and a multiple regression model-based traversing speed estimation model were developed using image information collected in an area with a high percentage of traffic vulnerability. to support the provision of optimal walking signals according to real-time traffic weakness. actual traffic data collected from the urban traffic network of Paju-si, Gyeonggi-do were used. The performance of the model was evaluated through seven selected indicators, including correlation coefficient and mean absolute error. The multiple linear regression model had a correlation coefficient of 0.652 and 0.182; the neural network model had a correlation coefficient of 0.823 and 0.105. The neural network model showed higher predictive power.

  • High-availability seamless redundancy (HSR) is a fault-tolerant protocol for Ethernet networks that provides two frame copies for each frame sent. Each copy is forwarded on a separate physical path. HSR is a potential candidate for several fault-tolerant Ethernet applications, including smart-grid communications. However, the major drawback of the HSR protocol is that it generates and circulates unnecessary frames within connected rings regardless of the presence of a destination node in the ring. This downside degrades network performance and can deplete network resources. Two simple but efficient approaches have previously been proposed to solve the above problem: quick removing (QR) and port locking (PL). In this paper, we will present a hybrid approach, QRPL, by combining QR with PL, resulting in further traffic reductions. Our analysis showed that network traffic is significantly reduced for a large-sized HSR connected ring network compared to the standard HSR protocol, QR, and PL.
