The global COVID-19 pandemic has transformed face masks from situational accessories to indispensable items in daily life, prompting a shift in public perception and behavior. While the relaxation of mandatory mask-wearing regulations is underway, a significant number of individuals continue to embrace face masks, turning them into a form of personal expression and identity. This phenomenon has given rise to the Fashion Mask industry, characterized by unique designs and colors, experiencing rapid growth in the market. However, existing research on masks is predominantly focused on their efficacy in preventing infection or exploring attitudes during the pandemic, leaving a gap in understanding consumer preferences for mask design. We address this gap by investigating consumer perceptions and preferences for two prevalent mask designs-horizontal fold flat masks and vertical fold flat masks. Through a comprehensive approach involving surveys and eye-tracking experiments, we aim to unravel the subtle differences in how consumers perceive these designs. Our research questions focus on determining which design is more appealing and exploring the reasons behind any observed differences. The study's findings reveal a clear preference for vertical fold flat masks, which are not only preferred but also perceived as unique, sophisticated, three-dimensional, and lively. The eye-tracking analysis provides insights into the visual attention patterns associated with mask designs, highlighting the pivotal role of the fold line in influencing these patterns. This research contributes to the evolving understanding of masks as a fashion statement and provides valuable insights for manufacturers and marketers in the Fashion Mask industry. The results have implications beyond the pandemic, emphasizing the importance of design elements in sustaining consumer interest in face masks.
To interpret the seismic image precisely, random noises should be suppressed and the continuity of the image should be enhanced by using the appropriate smoothing techniques. Structure-Oriented Filter-Edge Preserving (SOF-EP) technique is one of the methods, that have been actively researched and used until now, to efficiently smooth seismic data while preserving the continuity of signal. This technique is based on the principle that diffusion occurs from large amplitude to small one. In a continuous structure such as a horizontal layer, diffusion or smoothing is operated along the layer, thereby increasing the continuity of layers and eliminating random noise. In addition, diffusion or smoothing across boundaries at discontinuous structures such as faults can be avoided by employing the continuity decision factor. Accordingly, the precision of the smoothing technique can be improved. However, in the case of the structure-oriented semblance technique, which has been used to calculate the continuity factor, it takes lots of time depending on the size of the filter and data. In this study, we first implemented the SOF-EP method and confirmed its effectiveness by applying it step by step to the field data. Next, we proposed and applied the corner response method which can efficiently calculate the continuity decision factor instead of structure-oriented semblance. As a result, we could confirm that the computation time can be reduced by about 6,000 times or more by applying the corner response method.

To prepare acrylic resin coatings containing 70% of solids, we used n-butyl methacrylate(BMA), methyl methacrylate(MMA), 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate(2-HEMA), and acetoacetoxyethyl acrylate(AAEA), caprolactone acrylate(CLA) as raw materials, the glass transition temperature(Tg) of acrylic copolymer was adjusted around 50 ℃. The viscosity and molecular weight of the acrylic resins was increased with increasing OH values. Di-tert-amyl peroxide was found to be the suitable initiator to get high-solids acrylic resins. The optimum reaction conditions found in the study are 5 wt% of initiator, 4 wt% of chain transfer agent, 4 hrs of dropping time, and 140 ℃ of reaction temperature. The structure of the synthesized resins were characterized by FT-IR and 1H-NMR spectroscopy. Number average molecular weight of 1900~2600 and molecular wight distribution of 1.4~2.1 were obtained. Crosslinked acrylic urethane clear coatings were obtained by curing reaction between the synthesized acrylic resins and hexamethylene diisocyanate trimer(Desmodur N-3300), the equivalent ratio of NCO/OH was 1.2/1.0. The physical properties from the following studies were carried out: viscosity(Zahn cup #2), adhesion, drying time, pot-life, pensil hardness, and 60° specular gloss. Various properties of the acrylic urethane clear coatings were also evaluated on the coating specimens. Adhesion property to a substrate, drying time, pot-life, pencil hardness, and 60° specular gloss of prepared paint showed quite good properties. Futhermore, prepared paint containing 10% of CLA showed quite good properties for adhesion, low viscosity and high hardness.
We report an implementation of the Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) survey at a site that corresponds to a ruined castle. The objective of the survey was to characterise buried archaeological structures such as walls and tiles in Van Khan Tooril's Ruin, Mongolia, by 2D and 3D GPR techniques. GPR datasets were acquired in an area 10mby 9 m, with 10 cm line spacing. Two datasets were collected, using GPR with 500MHz and 800MHz frequency antennas. In this paper, we report the use of instantaneous parameters to detect archaeological targets such as tile, brick, and masonry by polarimetric GPR. Radar polarimetry is an advanced technology for extraction of target scattering characteristics. It gives us much more information about the size, shape, orientation, and surface condition of radar targets. We focused our interpretation on the strongest reflections. The image is enhanced by the use of instantaneous parameters. Judging by the shape and the width of the reflections, it is clear that moderate to high intensity response in instantaneous amplitude corresponds to brick and tiles. The instantaneous phase map gave information about the location of the targets, which appeared as discontinuities in the signal. In order to increase our ability to interpret these archaeological targets, we compared the GPR datasets acquired in two orthogonal survey directions. A good correlation is observed for the alignments of reflections when we compare the two datasets. However, more reflections appear in the north-south survey direction than in the west-east direction. This is due to the electric field orientation, which is in the horizontal plane for north-south survey directions and the horizontally polarised component of the backscattered high energy is recorded.
The rare-earth orthoborate family, RM3(BO3)4 is known to be the most promising material for the microlaser host. To grow LaSc3(BO3)4 single crystal, the phase relation of the system LaBO3-ScBO3 was investigated by DTA method. LaSc(BO3)4 was the unique intermediate compound in the binary system the peritectic reaction point of which was 1495 ±2℃. Owing to the peritectic behavior of the compound, the crystal growth of the rare-earth Sc-borate was carried out by pulling from the melt-soultion of La1+xSc3-x(BO3)4. The optimal conditions for the growth of LaSc3(BO3)4 were determined by traditional CZ method : pulling speed 0.7mm/hr, rotation speed 7-10 rpm under reduction condition. Pt and Ir crucibles could be used for about 8-10 times of growth. The effect of thermal configurations on the temperature distribution was investigated. A special two-coordinate manipulator was made for the precise movement of thermocouples from the melt to the top of the furnace for several thermal configurations. The radial gradient on the melt surface depends strongly on the construction of the afterheater. On the other hand, the axial gradient was mainly propotional to both the opening degree of baffle plate and the mutual positions of crucible and heater.
Vertical structures of wind-driven and tidal currents in a rectangular shaped uniform-depth basin of homogeneous water have been investigated using a mode-splitted, multi-level grid-box, hydrodynamic numerical model. The model was verified using analytical solutions for various vertical eddy viscosity profiles such as: a constant eddy viscosity, a linearly decreasing or increasing variation with depth, a quadratic variation with depth and an exponential variation with depth. Particular attention has been paid on the effects of "near-surface wall layer" on vertical shear of velocity. In numerical calculations, the whole water depth was divided into 13 levels with an unequal grid spacing. the model satisfactorily reproduces the velocity profile, but in case the eddy viscosity decreases rapidly with depth as in quadratical or exponential variation with depth, the vertical gradient of velocity near the bottom became very steep, and analytical solutions and numerical results showed some discrepancy. The vertical structures of horizontal velocity vary with both the depth-averaged value of eddy viscosity and its profiles. the velocity near the sea surface and near the bottom responded sensitively to the eddy viscosity of wall layer. For wind-driven current, the strong velocity shear was generated near the sea surface as eddy viscosity near the surface became small. For tidal current, the velocity above the sea bottom layer was almost constant regardless of the profiles of vertical eddy viscosity, but velocity in the sea bottom layer showed strong shear as eddy viscosity became small.
Dispersion polymerization of methyl acrylate, ethyl acrylate, butyl acrylate, and glycidyl methacrylate were performed in supercritical $CO_2$ at $80\;^{\circ}C$ and 346 bar. Glycidyl methacrylate linked poly(dimethylsiloxane) (GMS-PDMS) surfactant, which was prepared by linking glycidyl methacrylate to monoglycidyl ether terminated PDMS with amino-propyltriethoxysilane, was used as surfactant for the dispersion polymerization in $CO_2$. The yield of the poly(alkyl acrylate) polymers, synthesized in $CO_2$ medium, decreased as the alkyl tail of the acrylate monomers increased. Poly(glycidyl methacrylate) and poly(methyl acrylate) were produced in bead form whereas poly(ethyl acrylate) and poly(butyl acrylate) were viscous liquid. The poly(glycidyl methacrylate) particles had a number average diameter of 2.45 ${\mu}m$ and monodisperse distribution. The poly(methyl acrylate) had a number average diameter of 0.52 ${\mu}m$ and the particle size distribution was bimodal. The glass transition temperatures ($T_g$) of the poly(glycidyl methacrylate) and the poly(alkyl acrylate) products were 4~9 K higher than the $T_g$ of the corresponding acrylate polymers synthesized in conventional processes.
High-frequency bottom loss measurements for grazing angle of $82^{\circ}$ in frequency range 17-40 kHz were made in Jinhae bay in the southern part of Korea. Observations of bottom loss showed the strong variation as a function of frequency, which were compared to the predicted values using two-layered sediment reflection model. The geoacoustic parameters including sound speed, density and attenuation coefficient for the second sediment layer were predicted from the empirical relations with the mean grain size obtained from sediment core analysis. The geoacoustic parameters for the surficial sediment layer were inverted using Monte Carlo inversion algorithm. A sensitivity study for the geoacoustic parameters showed that the thickness of surficial sediment layer was most sensitive to the variation of the bottom loss.

A counter-flow type horizontal reactor of metal organic chemical vapor deposition was designed with the Reynolds and the Rayleigh numbers of Re = 4.5 and Ra = 215.8, respectively. The GaN thin films were grown and characterized by Hall measurement, double crystal X-ray diffraction analysis and photoluminescence measurement. The Si and Mg were also used for doping of GaN films. The dislocation density of $2.6{\times}10^8/\textrm {cm}^2$ was included in GaN films representing the geometrical lattice mismatch between sapphire substrates and GaN films. The Si doped n-GaN films provide the electron carrier density and mobility in the regions of $10^{17}~10^{18}/\textrm{cm}^3$ and 200~400 $\textrm{cm}^2$/V .sec, respectively. Mg doped p-GaN films were post-annealed and activated with the hole carrier density of $8{\times}10^{17}/{\textrm}{cm}^3$.
