소형 자율 수중 운동체의 비연성 제어기 설계 및 HILS 기법을 이용한 성능 평가 (Decoupled Controller Design of Small Autonomous Underwater Vehicle and Performance Test using HILS)

  • In this paper, decoupled controller design for Autonomous Underwater Vehicle(AUV) and its simulated performance test results and Hardware In the Loop Simulation(HILS) results are presented. Control system design is done using the PD control scheme. Stability analysis and step response of closed loop system under uncertain parameter condition are also presented. The results of full coupled nonlinear model simulation show the well applicability of the designed controller. From the results of HILS, we can verify performance of real time processing and implemented hardware for AUV.

  • A massive cavity is generated behind the underwater vehicles, such as marine propellers, pump impellers, nozzles, injectors, torpedoes, etc. when a underwater vehicle moves at very high speed in the underwater. At this point it makes supercavitating flow and the nose, ie., the cavitator is very important fator at the vehicle since it should be surrounded by the cavity. The present work has focused on the simulation of cavitation flow using the new cavitator. The governing equation is the Navier-Stokes equation based on homogeneous mixture model. For the code validation, the results from the present solver have been compared with experiments and other numerical results. A fairly good agreement with the experimental data and other numerical results have been obtained.

  • 본 논문에서는 실제 물리적인 여유 센서를 가지지 않는 수중운동체의 센서 고장진단 및 극복에 관한 문제를 신경회로망을 사용하여 접근하였다. 이를 위하여 설계된 신경회로망은 센서 고장 진단을 위한 신경회로망과 고장 확인 및 대체정보 생성을 위한 신경회로망으로 구성하였으며, 온라인(on-line) 학습을 위하여 확장 역전(Extended Back-Propagation) 학습법을 사용하였다. 시뮬레이션은 수중운동체의 방위변화율 센서에 대하여 수행하였으며, 제안된 기법이 센서에 대한 고장진단기와 센서 추정기로 사용할 수 있음을 확인하였다.

  • Cavitating flow is widely shown in many engineering systems, such as marine propellers, pump impellers, nozzles, injectors, torpedoes, etc. The present work focuses on the numerical analysis of the multiphase flow around the underwater vehicle which was launched from a submarine. The governing equation is the Navier-Stokes equation with a homogeneous mixture mode. The multiphase flow solver uses an implicit preconditioning scheme in curvilinear coordinate. For the code validation, the results from the present work are compared with the existing experimental and numerical results, and a reasonably good agrements are obtained. The multiphase flow around an underwater vehicle is simulated which includes submarine wake effects.

  • This paper presents an integrated navagation control concept for underwater vehicles under high speed navigation circumstance. First of all, in order to control an underwater vehicle with respect to automatic navigation, an integrated navigation control method is suggested in view of synchronous control for course keeping, diving and depth control. An exact nonlinear model equation with six-degree-of-freedom is derived for control algorithm. To identify various hydrodynamic coefficients of the equation, an experimental approach is introduced and results are demonstrated for MANTA type model.

  • A nonlinear control algorithm for the depth control of underwater vehicles is presented. In order to consider the deadzone effect of the flow control valve, a nonlinear fuzzy logic controller (FLC) is synthesized and combined with a linear proportional-derivative-acceleration (PDA) controller, which is called the PDA/FLC controller. And to show the effectiveness of the PDA/FLC control system, it is compared with the linear PDA control system through computer simulation. It is found that the PDA/FLC control system is suitable one to maintain the desirable depth of underwater vehicles with deadzone.

초공동 수중운동체 주위 공동 특성과 추력 전산 해석 (Numerical Analysis of Cavity Characteristics and Thrust for Supercavitating Underwater Vehicle)

  • Cavitation is used in various fields. This study examined the drag reduction of an underwater vehicle using cavitation. In this study, the natural partial cavitation analysis results were verified using CFD code with the Navier-Stokes equation based on a mixture model. The momentum and continuity equations in the mixture phase were separately solved in the liquid and vapor phases. The solver employs an implicit preconditioning algorithm in curvilinear coordinates. The results of a computational analysis showed good agreement with the experiment. A computational analysis was also performed on the supercavity. The study investigated the cavity characteristics and drag of an underwater vehicle and studied the speed required to achieve a supercavity. Finally, a 1DOF analysis was carried out to investigate the thrust system for a supercavity. As a result, one of the methods for determining a suitable thrust system for a supercavitating underwater vehicle was presented.

  • Supercavitating torpedo uses the supercavitation technology that can reduce dramatically the skin friction drag. The present work focuses on the numerical analysis of the non-condensable cavitating flow around the supercavitating torpedo. The governing equations are the Navier-Stokes equations based on the homogeneous mixture model. The cavitation model uses a new cavitation model which was developed by Merkle(2006). The multiphase flow solver uses an implicit preconditioning scheme in curvilinear coordinates. The ventilated cavitation is implemented by non-condensable gas injection on backward of cavitator cone and the base of the torpedo. The comparison between the without and with ventilated cavitation numerical results, with ventilated cavitation using non-condensable gas injection is more efficient method.

  • The objective of this study is to investigate flow characteristics of a underwater vehicle by installing pins, using CFD method with a commercial code FLUENT version 6.3.26. To verify the reliability of the computation, the drag is compared the CFD with the experimental test. The drag is increased about 15% by installing 4 pins. At the stern of the body, the turbulent flow is generated by installing pins. Also, the results showed that the drag increase in the stern of the body, not in the pins.

원통형 수중운동체 두부 형상 역설계 (An Inverse Design for Nose Shape of a Cylindrical-Shaped Submerged Body)

  • In this paper, an efficient inverse design method for nose shape of submerged body based on the MGM(Modified Garabedian-McFadden) design method has been developed. The MGM design method is a residual-correction technique, in which the residuals are differences between the desired and the computed pressure distributions. 3-D incompressible Wavier-Stokes equation was adopted for obtaining the surface pressure distribution and combined with the MGM design method to perform the inverse design of nose shape of submerged body. The design method was verified by applying to several airfoil shapes. Improved design shapes could be obtained when the method was applied to nose shapes of submerged body.
