Influence of the Aqua Exercise on Blood Component and Vascular Compliance of Mental Retardation Men (수중운동 참여가 정신지체장애인의 혈액성분 및 혈관탄성에 미치는 영향)

  • This research was performed to investigate the effects of participation in aqua exercise on blood composition and vascular compliance of mentally retarded persons. The targets of this research consisted of a control group of 12 people and an aqua exercise group of 12 people after selecting 24 mentally retarded males and aqua exercise group carried out an exercise program for 60 minutes per day and five days a week for 9 weeks. Weight, body fat percentage, blood composition and vascular compliance were measured in a preliminary inspection and the same items were measured in a post-inspection. The results of this measurement were as follows. Firstly, aqua exercise group showed a significant decrease in weight and body fat percentage (p<.05). Secondly, for blood composition, aqua exercise group showed a notable decrease in Total-Cholesterol, Triglyceride, and LDL-Cholesterol (p<.05) and a significant increase in HDL-Cholesterol (p<.05). Thirdly, aqua exercise group showed a notable increase in blood composition for both upper limbs and lower limbs (p<.05). Taken these results together, it was considered that a participation of mentally retarded persons in aqua exercise would prevent adult diseases and would have an affirmative influence on improvement of the quality of life.

  • 연구목적 : 수심 깊이에 따른 수중운동이 하지근력에 미치는 영향을 알아보고자 하는데 목적이 있다. 연구방법 : 신경근골격계 질환이 없는 여자 10명을 대상으로 하였고, 무작위로 수성 0.7m 그룹과 1.4m 그룹으로 배치하였다. 수중운동은 1회 40분, 주 3회 6주 동안 적용하였다. Ultrasound MyLab25(Esaote, Italy)를 이용하여 하지근육의 우모각과 밀도를 실험전과 후에 측정하였다. 연구결과 : 골격근 구조의 역학적 특성을 나타내는 우모각 변화를 비교한 결과 0.7m 그룹의 오른쪽 넙다리곧은근과 왼쪽 넙다리곧은근, 앞정강근 그리고 장딴지근에서, 1.4m 그룹의 오른쪽 앞정강근과 장딴지근, 왼쪽 넙다리곧은근에서 통계학적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났으나(p<.05), 수심 깊이에 따른 유의한 차이는 없었다(p>.05). 또한, 질적 특성을 나타내는 근육 영상 밀도 변화를 비교한 결과 0.7m 그룹의 오른쪽 넙다리곧은근, 장딴지근과 왼쪽 넙다리곧은근, 앞정강근, 장딴지근에서 1.4m 그룹의 양쪽 넙다리곧은근, 앞정강근, 장딴지근에서 통계학적으로 유의한 차이가 나타났고(p<.05), 특히 1.4m 그룹에서 현저한 증가를 보였으나 수심 깊이에 따른 유의한 차이는 없었다(p>.05). 결론 : 본 연구에서는 수심 차이에 관계없이 수중운동 후 근밀도와 우모각에 영향을 미치는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

Measurement of Performance of High Speed Under Water Vehicle by Using Solid Rocket Motor(II) (로켓추진을 이용한 고속 수중운동체의 수중 주행성능 측정 결과(II))

  • High speed under water vehicle by using solid rocket motor, which is a natural cavitation type, was tested. The vehicle's speed and running distance was measured, and pressure sensors installed on the surface of the vehicle show pressure-time history of pressures according to the development of the supercavitation. Underwater cameras installed on the wall of the test pool recorded whole processes from the onset of the supercavitation to fully developed one. CNU-SuperCT based on 2-dimensional inviscid theoretical analysis was used to simulate the test result. In consideration of CNU-SuperCT does not include the control fins of the vehicle, simulation results agree with test results very well. Also, pictures from underwater cameras support the test results.

  • A natural cavitation-type high-speed underwater vehicle with solid rocket motor is tested, and its speed and running distance are measured. The outputs from pressure sensors on the surface of the vehicle reveal a pressure-time history reflecting the development of supercavitation. Underwater cameras installed on the wall of the test pool record the entire process from the onset of supercavitation to its full development. CNU-SuperCT, based on two-dimensional inviscid theoretical analysis, is used to simulate test results. Considering CNU-SuperCT does not include the control fins of the vehicle, simulation results agree with test results very well.   • In this study, we have discussed about the effect of hydrofoil arrangement and longitudinal moment characteristic on longitudinal motion stability of fully-submerged hydrofoil by the experiment of tandem hydrofoil model. First of all, tandem hydrofoil model that has canard wing arrangement has been made and characteristics of lift force and drag force by performing the lift force and drag force measuring experiment has also been estimated. Besides, tandem hydrofoil model's wing arrangement which has the initial stability and self stability of longitudinal motion has also been determined. In longitudinal stability experiment of tandem hydrofoil model, the motion characteristic of pitch and heave and the longitudinal stability of foil borne condition by variation of self stability of longitudinal moment and longitudinal distance are estimated. The result from the experiment and it's important conclusion can be described as below; Increase the self stability for longitudinal moment, the higher self stability for pitch motions in a constant pitch angles. By increasing the self stability for longitudinal moment, the range of fluctuation of pitch motion and heave motion for pitch angle also will change relatively small and longitudinal stability is excellent. Lastly, when the lift force of hydrofoil is remain constants, we can conclude that securing the enough self stability for longitudinal moment is essential for stable foil borne condition of tandem hydrofoil.

Study on Model Based Control for the Roll Motion of an Underwater Robot (수중로봇의 롤 운동제어를 위한 모델 베이스 제어에 관한연구)

  • We have been developing an underwater robot for harbour construction using a parallel mechanism The robot is attached to the rope of a crane, which curries a large stone into the undersea The robot's yaw and pitch are controlled by hydraulic cylinders but its roll is uncontrollable. We mount propellers in both side of the robot to generate the roll motion This paper studies on the control for the roll motion of a underwater robot. A gyro-sensor is used to measure the angle in a roll motion We develop the dynamic model to describe the robot's roll motion by a second order non-linear system and identify the model parameters by recursive least square and adaptive identifier. PD control, recursive model based control and adaptive model based control are applied with the dynamic model which computes the control input to compensate disturbances. This paper introduces the underwater robot system and presents the simulated and experimental results of the proposed controller.

Detection Performance Analysis of Underwater Vehicles by Long-Range Underwater Acoustic Communication Signals (장거리 수중 음향 통신 신호에 의한 수중 운동체 피탐지 성능 분석)

  • Unlike a short-range, a long-range underwater acoustic communication(UWAC) uses low frequency signal and deep sound channel to minimize propagation loss. In this case, even though communication signals are modulated using a covert transmission technique such as spread spectrum, it is hard to conceal the existence of the signals. The unconcealed communication signal can be utilized as active sonar signal by enemy and presence of underwater vehicles may be exposed to the interceptor. Since it is very important to maintain stealthiness for underwater vehicles, the detection probability of friendly underwater vehicles should be considered when interceptor utilizes our long-range UWAC signal. In this paper, we modeled a long-range UWAC environment for analyzing the detection performance of underwater vehicles and proposed the region of interest(ROI) setup method and the measurement of detection performance. By computer simulations, we yielded parameters, analyzed the detection probability and the detection performance in ROI. The analysis results showed that the proposed detection performance analysis method for underwater vehicles could play an important role in the operation of long-range UWAC equipment.
