Numerical Analysis for Drag Force of Underwater Vehicle with Exhaust Injected inside Supercavitation Cavity (초공동 수중비행체의 공동영역 내부에서 분사된 배기가스가 수중비행체의 항력에 미치는 영향에 대한 수치해석적 연구)

  • A supercavitating vehicle has a speed of more than 300 km/h in water. A numerical analysis of the flow around a supercavitating vehicle must deal with a multiphase flow consisting of the water, vapor and exhaust gas because the vehicle is powered by roket propulsion. The effect of the exhaust gas on the vehicle is an important part in the study of the performance of the supercavitating vehicle. In the present study, the effect of the exhaust gas on the drag of vehicle was investigated by conducting numerical analysis. When there is no exhaust gas, drag of vehicle is affected by re-entrant. In the case with rocket propulsion, the exhaust gas reduces the influence of re-entrant. The exhaust gas also creates Mach disk and it changes drag profile.

  • 침수의 경우에, 수중 비행체(UFV : Underwater Flight Vehicle)는 발라스트 탱크들의 내부를 고압 공기로 비워 내어 부상을 수행한다. 그런데, 기존의 blow-off 방법은 가벼운 침수일지라도 부상 후에는 몸체를 수면에 드러나게 한다. 이는 불필요한 임무 실패 또는 몸체 노출의 결과를 가져온다. 따라서, 부상 제어에 의해 침수 및 부상에 의한 오버슈트 심도를 감소시킴과 동시에 몸체를 수면 근처에 유지시키는 것이 필요하다. 이 문제를 해결하기 위해서 전문가 지식 및 FBFE(Fuzzy Basis Function Expansion)를 사용하는 부상 제어 알고리즘이 제안되었다. 제안된 알고리즘의 성능 검증을 위한 시뮬레이션 결과는 제안된 알고리즘이 UFV 부상 제어 시스템에 존재하는 문제점들을 효과적으로 해결하고 있음을 보여준다.

Intelligent 3-D Obstacle Avoidance Algorithm for Autonomous Control of Underwater Flight Vehicle (수중비행체의 자율제어를 위한 지능형 3-D 장애물회피 알고리즘)

  • In real system application, the 3-D obstacle avoidance system for the autonomous control of the underwater flight vehicle (UFV) operates with the following problems: the sonar offers the range/bearing information of obstacles in a local detection area, it requires the system that has reduced acoustic noise and power consumption in terms of the autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV), it has the UFV operation constraints such as maximum pitch and depth, and it requires an easy design procedure in terms of its structures and parameters. To solve these problems, an intelligent 3-D obstacle avoidance algorithm using the evolution strategy (ES) and the fuzzy logic controller (FLC), is proposed. To verify the performance of the proposed algorithm, the 3-D obstacle avoidance of UFV is performed. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm effectively solves the problems in the real system application.

A Study on the Shock Resistance against Underwater Explosion of Ship-born Vertical Launch Type Air-vehicle by Using the Modeling and Simulation (모델링 및 시뮬레이션 기반의 함정용 수직발사형 발사체의 수중폭발 충격에 대한 내충격성 확보 방안 연구)

  • This study examines the response when the shock by underwater explosion is transmitted to a vertical launch air-vehicle mounted on a ship using modeling and simulation, and is about a plan to increase method shock resistance to protect the air vehicle. In order to obtain an accurate mathematical model, a dynamic characteristic test was performed on similar equipment, and through this, the mathematical model could be supplemented. And, using the supplemented mathematical model, the air vehicle simulated the shock response by the underwater explosion specified in the BV043 standard. As a result of the first simulation, it was confirmed that air vehicle could not withstand shock, and air vehicle protection method using a ring spring type shock absorber was studied. In addition to the basic shape of abosber, it was confirmed that the ring spring absober can be used to increase the impact resistance of a shipborn vertical launch vehicle by performing simulations for each case by changing deseign varables.

Adaptive Blowing Control Algorithm for Autonomous Control of Underwater Flight Vehicle (수중 비행체의 자율제어를 위한 적응 부상 제어 알고리즘)

  • In case of flooding, the underwater flight vehicle (UFV) executes the blowing by blowing ballast tanks off using high pressure air (HPA), while it also uses control planes and a propulsion unit to reduce the overshoot depth caused by a flooding and blowing sequence. However, the conventional whole HPA blow-off method lets the body on the surface after blowing despite slight flooding. This results in the unnecessary mission failure or body exposure. Therefore, it is necessary to keep the body at the near surface by the blowing control while reducing the overshoot depth. To solve this problem, an adaptive blowing control algorithm, which is based on the decomposition method expanding the expert knowledge in depth control and the adaptive method using fuzzy basis function expansion (FBFE), is proposed. To verify the performance of the proposed algorithm, the blowing control of UFV is performed. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm effectively solves the problems in the UFV blowing control system online.

  • 산업이 발달함에 따라 대량의 화물을 빠르게 운반할 수 있는 해상운송수단의 수요가 증가하게 되고 이로 인하여 해상 선박 간 충돌사고가 빈번히 발생하게 되었다 선박 충돌은 주로 조선하는 사람들의 관습, 습관의 차이, 부주의, 판단오류 등의 이유로 발생한다. 연구자들은 선박 충돌을 방지하기 위하여 조선에 관련된 많은 부분을 지능화한 지능형 충돌회피시스템 개발에 노력을 기울이고 있다. 선박을 비롯한 자율운동체의 충돌방지 기법은 비행체, 수중운동체, 자율로봇 등 영역 특성을 달리하는 다양한 분야에서 연구되어오고 있다 기존 연구들의 충돌방지는 주로 장애물의 공간적 특성에 기반하고 있다. 이에 개체의 움직임을 예측하여 시간적 요소를 가미하면 더욱 향상된 충돌방지가 가능하다. 특히, 선박은 느린 운동 특성과 조선법, 규격화된 통신수단의 발달로 인하여 상대편 선박의 이동 예측이 용이하므로 이를 적용하여 보다 향상된 충돌방지가 가능하다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 충돌회피기법의 과정에 예측을 추가한 예측기반 충돌회피모형을 제안하고 선박운항환경을 모의실험에 의하여 해당 모형 적용시 충돌회피 경로 산출의 안전성이 크게 개선됨을 보인다.

  • 지면에 가까이 있는 비행체나 수면에 가까이 있는 수중 운동체에서 도래하는 신호는 직접파와 반사파로 구성되어 있다. 그런 환경에서는 반사파가 직접파와 coherent한 관계를 갖는다. 이런 현상으로 해서 DOA추정을 위해 추정한 correlation 행렬이 singular한 성질을 갖게 된다. 이렇게 singular한 행렬은 DOA추정에 큰 오류를 내게 된다. 또 움직이는 대상의 경우 추정 correlation 행렬의 성질이 시간에 따라 변하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 위 두 상황을 함께 해결하기 위해서 PASTd알고리즘을 변형하여 Forward/Backward Variable forgetting factor를 도입한 PASTd알고리즘을 제안한다.

  • An image-reconstruction technology, involving the deployment of an unmanned mobility equipped with high-speed LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) has been proposed to reconstruct the shape of abandoned mine. Unmanned mobility operation is remarkably useful in abandoned mines fraught with operational difficulties including, but not limited to, obstacles, sludge, underwater and narrow tunnel with the diameter of 1.5 m or more. For cases of real abandoned mines, quadruped robots, quadcopter drones and underwater drones are respectively deployed on land, air, and water-filled sites. In addition to the advantage of scanning the abandoned mines with 2D solid-state lidar sensors, rotation of radiation at an inclination angle offers an increased efficiency for simultaneous reconstruction of mineshaft shapes and detecting obstacles. Sensor and robot posture were used for computing rotation matrices that helped compute geographical coordinates of the solid-state lidar data. Next, the quadruped robot scanned the actual site to reconstruct tunnel shape. Lastly, the optimal elements necessary to increase utility in actual fields were found and proposed.

  • Advanced fiber-reinforced laminated composites are widely used in various fields of engineering to reduce weight. The material property of each ply is well known; specifically, it is known that ply is less reliable than metallic materials and very sensitive to the loading direction. Therefore, it is important to consider this uncertainty in the design of laminated composites. In this study, reliability analysis is conducted using COMSOL and MATLAB interactions for a laminated composite plate for the case in which the tip deflection is the design requirement and the material property is a random variable. Furthermore, the efficiency and accuracy of the approximation method is identified, and a probabilistic sensitivity analysis is conducted. As a result, we can prove the applicability of the advanced design method for the stabilizer of an underwater vehicle.
