  • The increased application of phosphate on soybean grown in a newly cultivated hill-side field resulted: positive correlation phosphate content in soil and stem length. number of branches and yield. and between increased application of phosphate and yield and yield components. 46.2kg/10a of phosphate application out yielded by 69% the nonapplied plot.

  • 程頤作爲宋明理學思想家,在確立朱熹思想哲學體系方面產生了巨大影響。特別是在修養論領域,程頤對修養論的研究與朱熹相比相對不完善。程頤的修養體系以"主敬"爲中心,通過對敬的解釋,提出了修養學習的意義。著眼於這一部分,希望通過"非對象性"探索在沒有對象關系的情況下也可以學習的敬工夫中與教育接軌的地方。本論稿以將教化作爲國家政策的二程兄弟的教育宗旨爲背景,觀察當時重視教化的狀況,硏究程頤的"主敬"工夫的意義。首先,通過程頤修養論理解思想哲學,進而把握教育家的宗旨,探索工夫原理,是有意義的工作。

A Study on the Saint Notion of Mencius (맹자(孟子)의 성인관(聖人觀) 연구(硏究))

  • The Mencius's saint is not a rational being but a being of real world. He thought that all mankind have the goodness, and if we complete it, we can become a 'saint' like the 'King Yao' or the 'King Shun'. And he maintained that to complete the goodness, we must understand what the goodness is. He has divided this knowledge into the innate phase and the acquired phase, and then insisted that mankind can be a saint by the both of them. Also, Mencius suggested that we can be saint by the preservation of goodness('Ren & Li'). To bring up the goodness, we're not supposed to be inclined to a material desire, we're asked a mental training of 'Si chemg' reflecting on them-self. It is a 'Dao' of the mankind. When it completes, mankind will commune(communicate) with nature. This paper focused the Saint notion of Mencius, especially the mental training of Saint & the social realization.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between theory of Confucian moral cultivation and meditation. Recently our community is more interested in 'a disease of mind'. A view of world, life, values which derived from the distorted perception of 'a disease of mind' can not be treated by psychiatric methods. In this sense, 'a disease of mind' is different from psychiatric illness. In this reason, alternative therapies applying philosophy, literature, arts, and humanities are attracting attention. Meditation is also one of them. In general, Meditation has been developed in Buddhism, but its method is closely related with Confucianism. Buddhist meditation has a pessimistic view of the reality in human life, but that of Confucian philosophy has laid stress on the reality and ego in human life. At this point, the Confucian meditation could provide a clue of solution for us in treatment of a disease of human mind. So Confucian moral cultivation and meditation have a great significance for the treatment of this disease as a methodology. In general, mental healing or psychotherapy has been proceeded by way of dialogue. 'Talking Cure' was conceived to let clients themselves recognize their current situation and find out the problem: "what happened and what's wrong" in their minds. But it does not have a high possibility of successful cure for subjects who are in the state of frustration, confusion, and lost of value. And also it is very difficult to apply to special institutions such as correctional institutions and military soldier who are targeted by current application of Humanities therapy. On this sense, it seems to be valuable to apply Confucian cultivation of mind and meditation which have emphasized the importance of mind-control for this. This study tries to examine theoretically how to relate the Confucian cultivation of mind with meditation, and to suggest a model of Humanities therapy that could be applied by Toe-gye's 『The Method on Preservation of Human mind(活人心方)』. Although Confucian cultivation of mind could present a meaningful theory for curing the disease of mind, it is very difficult to put the theory into practice. It is because Confucian cultivation of mind in itself is a kind of instruction that you need to do in all of your life, and essentially it is difficult to expect a temporary effect by performance or practice. So a cure model of Confucian cultivation of mind will be suggested on this assumption and limitations. This model is attempted on the main purpose of Humanities therapy in accordance with the development of a Korean model.

Effect of Sowing Date and Planting Density on Growth and Yield in Safflower (잇꽃의 파종기(播種期)와 재식밀도(栽植密度)가 생육(生育) 및 수묵(收墨)에 미치는 영향(影響))

  • This experiment was carried out in the field to investigate the effects of sowing date and planting density under non - or P. E. - mulching cultivation on growth and yield of safflower. The optimum sowing date for safflower in the central and northern area of Korea was March 20th directly after thawing of frozen soil. P. E. - mulching cultivation was profitable with increasing the kernel yield 20% higher than in non­mulching cultivation. With respect to the the planting density, non - mulching $50[{\times}10cm$(20.000plants per10are) and P. E. - mulching $50{\times}15cm$(13,330 plants per 10 are) were optimum respectively.

Growth and Tuber Yield of Liriope platyphylla WANG and TANG in Different Planting Density (맥문동(麥門冬)의 재식밀도(栽植密度)에 따른 생육(生育) 및 수양성(收量性))

  • This experiment was carried out to establish the optimum planting density for producing high tuber yield of Liriope platyphylla WANG and TANG using the recommended variety 'Maekmoondong 1'. Different planting distances such as $20cm\;/rows{\times}10cm\;/hill,\;30{\times}10,\;30{\times}30$ and different plant numbers like 2 plants /hill, 4,6 were combined to make different planting densities. Upper growth state was better by further spacing in case of leaf size, tiller number, fresh leaf weight per each hill. But unlike upper growth state tuber number and. its yield were highest at 372kg /10a and 43No. /hill. respectively with the planting density, $30cm{\times}10cm$, 6 plants per hill. Over growth of vegetative parts cut down the tuber yield. Correlations among leaf size, tiller number, leaf weight and root weight were positive. Tuber number was positively correlated with all characteristics except root weight.
