A Study on the Effectiveness of Emotional Communication According to Types of Emoticon - Focusing on the Differences in Gender and Major of the Receiver - (이모티콘 유형에 따른 감정소통의 효과성 연구 - 수신자의 성별 및 전공계열별 차이를 중심으로 -)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the most effective emoticon type in on-line communication context through analysis decoding(by their interpretation, empathy, reaction) of receiver about emotional message included the various emoticon types. Message types were all 5 - only text message and messages included texticon, graphicon, anicon, and photocon that reflected the transitional process of emoticon. Survey questionnaire that included various emotional situations was developed and utilized to undergraduate students to analyze the differences in their gender and majors. Results are as follow. First, the graphicon, anicon and photocon messages had higher effectiveness than others in the pleasure while the text only message had the highest effectiveness of them in the displeasure. Second, female students responded that the graphicon, anicon and photocon messages were more effective while male students responded that text only message was. Third, between Arts/Physical and Science/Engineering majors had significant differences in some message types, and especially Science/Engineering majors showed higher average than other majors in all of the emoticon types. These results can provide the information to design messages by the emotional situation of sender and gender and major of receiver.

An Automatic Collision Avoidance System for Drone using a LiDAR sensor (LiDAR 센서를 이용한 드론 자동 충돌방지 시스템)

  • In this paper, we propose an efficient automatic control method for the collision avoidance of drones. In general, the drones are controlled by transmitting to the flight control (FC) module the received PWM signals transmitted from a RC controller which transduce movements of the knob into PWM signal. We implemented the collision avoidance module in-between receiver and FC module to monitor and change the throttle, pitch and roll control signals to avoid drone collision. In order to avoid the collision, a LiDAR distance sensor and a servo-motor are installed and periodically measure the obstacle distance within -45 degrees from 45 degrees in flight direction. If the collision is predicted, the received PWM signal is changed and transmitted to the FC module to prevent the collision. We applied our proposed method to a hexacopter and the experimental results show that the safety is improved because it can prevent the collision caused by the inadvertency or inexperienced maneuver.

  • Focusing on the information sender, message, channel, and receiver, the existing information theory deals with the noise, information contents, and probability of choice, which involve in the process of information transmission. In the current digital environment, besides simply conveying information itself through media, the important issue is how to efficiently convey information. Therefore, we need to analyze the theory in different perspective, and to research the Information redundancy for the methodology of information design. The redundancy causes the receiver to have attraction to the information and to reduce its contents due to its supplement and repetition. So it can play a role of efficient communication method. The concept of redundancy is applied to the communication of art such as literature, architecture, painting, and design to accomplish efficient communication. In order to get persuasive information design for the receiver's perspective we need to make use of this concept. The redundancy can be applied with the technical aspect of multimedia and Interaction, which add supplemental expression, or sort of event for the receiver's experience and memory. In the process of constructing information it can be applied with the structure of gaming redundancy, entropy, the accumulating communication code using entertaining feature, and storytelling methodology. The noise and entropy could be used for the means of making redundancy, not the obstacle to information. The redundancy gives the receiver attraction on the information and makes them have strong will of interpreting it so that the purpose of conveying information will be accomplished efficiently.

  • When a subscriber service composed along the central street of urban in microcell and picocell mobile communication of cellular method, we proposed the propagation prediction model that mobile communication environment of urban can analyze exactly and faster men than a precedent. We simulate the proposed propagation prediction model under the urban propagation environment of PCS mobile communication and analyze distribution of received field strength in cell. As a results, we show the optimal condition of the transmitting power and the position of the base station in the microcell and the picocell mobile communication.

  • 디지털멀티미디어방송(DMB)은 고품질의 방송 영상 및 부가 데이터를 이동 중인 차량내에서나 휴대형 단말에서 수신할 수 있는 이동 멀티미디어 방송 서비스이다. 그러나 현재 국내에서 상용화 되고 있는 지상파와 위성 DMB 서비스는 아직 비디오와 오디오에 기반한 단순한 컨텐츠에 중심을 두고 있어 사용자의 기대치에 미치지 못하고 있는 상황이다. 그리하여 현재처럼 단순히 기존의 오디오와 비디오에 기반한 케이블 TV프로그램을 그대로 옮겨올 것이 아니라, 다양한 미디어 객체들을 추가하여 사용자 인터랙티브한 대화형 멀티미디어 컨텐츠를 지원하고 더 나아가서 사용자와 서비스 제공자와의 인터랙션을 지원하는 양방향 데이터 서비스에 대한 연구가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 실시간 양방향 대화형 DMB 서비스를 최종목표로 먼저 PC환경에서 뿐만아니라 모바일 환경에서 MPEG-4 컨텐츠의 스트리밍 시스템을 구현함으로써 DMB시스템을 시뮬레이션 한다.

  • 우리나라 최초의 우주탐사 사업인 달 탐사선(KPLO) 개발 사업에는 국내에서 개발하는 과학 탑재체 3기, 기술 검증탑재체 1기, 고해상도 카메라 1기, 국제협력의 일환으로 NASA의 과학 탑재체 1기도 함께 개발되고 있다. KPLO와 이들 탑재체의 운영을 수행하게 될 KPLO 심우주 지상시스템은 달 탐사선 운영에 필요한 궤도, 임무계획 등의 정보를 생성하고, KPLO의 기동명령과 상태정보를 송, 수신하는 역할을 주요 임무로 수행한다. 또한 이들 정보를 기반으로 궤도임무를 수행하고 있는 KPLO의 임무운영 상태를 시각화하여 운영자로 하여금 KPLO 운영을 용이하게 하고, 공공에게 이를 제공하는 역할도 함께 수행한다. KPLO 심우주 지상시스템은 AGI사의 STK와 NASA/JPL에서 개발한 Cosmographia를 활용하여 각각 특성에 맞는 KPLO 운영 시각화 정보를 제공할 것이다. 본 발표에서는 Cosmographia의 작동 및 활용 개념을 설명하고, KPLO의 가상 임무를 적용한 SPICE Kernels을 활용하여 고해상도 카메라인 LUTI의 지향, 달 중심 표준좌표를 적용한 KPLO의 궤도 등을 시각화 시연을 한다. 또한 고해상도 달 표면 영상 적용, 심우주 네트워크 안테나의 위치 정보표출 등 Cosmographia에서 기본적으로 제공하던 시각화 정보를 개선한 내용에 대해서도 함께 시연한다.

A Study on the Delivery Pattern of Korean letters during 1900-1945 (한국 우편 전달의 정착 양상 고찰)

  • This study was designed to analyze the delivery patterns of early(1900-1945) letters from the beginning of the postal service in order to examine the process of establishing the modern postal system after the constitution of the Postal Service(1884). In Chapter 2, we examined the 'change of the way letters are delivered', Chapter 3 is about the 'change of expression' and Chapter 4 is about 'double-faced of the post'. In the examination of aspects of changing the way letters were delivered, the phase of postal delivery by personal delivery to postal delivery were divided into three phases: [the period of personal delivery delivery] > [the coexistence period of personal delivery and postal deliveryy] > [the period of postal delivery]. In particular, it was interesting to see that the same sender and receiver mixed up postal delivery and personal delivery by the case in the second period. In addition, the functional differences between the express, telegram and particular post were found in the examination fo contents of the letter. In the examination of aspects of changing in expression, a change of common expression in 'greeting, ending, and receiving expressions' were confirmed. Also, it was confirmed that 'woo-pyeon' was not used as the basic term, but instead replaced with various terms, and that 'woo' was used independently and productively. In the double-faced aspects of post, there were disadvantages of the postal delivery such as 'discontent of the lost' and 'security of confidentiality', despite the advantages of 'economic, rapid, and long-distance delivery'. Because the disadvantage of postal delivery could be supplemented by personal delivery, postal delivery and personal delivery could coexist for a considerable period of time.

  • 파장 분할 다중화 방식 (WDM)의 광통신은 중앙 기지국에서 각 가입자에게 서로 다른 파장을 할당하여 동시에 데이터를 전송하는 방식으로서 각 가입자는 할당된 파장을 이용하여 항상 데이터를 송/수신할 수 있고 각 가입자에게 대용량의 데이터를 전송할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 통신의 보안성이 뛰어나고 성능 향상이 용이하다 따라서 상, 하향(양방향, bidirectional) 3 파장 WDM-필터 소자(Flat band-path filter)는 광 가입자망 구축에서 통신 방송을 융합한 양방향 고화질 멀티미디어 서비스 사업에 반드시 필요로 하는 원천 부품이다. 본 연구에서는 1차원 광자결정을 이용한 저 손실 양방향 3 파장 WDM-필터를 얻을 수 있는 이론적 모델을 설계하고 그에 따라 2-cavity $Ta_2O_5/SiO_2$ 1차원 광자결정체를 제작하고 그 특성을 고찰 하였다. 파장에 따른 투과도 측정 결과 1550nm파장에서 투과되고 1310nm 및 1490nm파장에 대한 차단이 이론값과 일치하였다. 1550nm 파장 대에서 손실이 매우 낮은 flat-투과 밴드가 생성되었다. 특히 입사각도에 따라 flat-band 중심 파장의 변화를 이용하므로 새로운 개념의 WDM 소자로의 응용이 가능하다.

The Characteristics and Use of Moon Ik-Hwan's Prison Letters (문익환 옥중서신의 특성과 활용)

  • Moon Ik-hwan's prison letters are valuable historical materials managed by the Moon Ik-hwan House of Unification, reflecting an aspect of modern and contemporary South Korea. He wrote these prison letters during a period of approximately 11 years and three months. Today about 800 of them remain and are in an urgent need for measures to ensure their long-term preservation and Use. This study set out to introduce their current state that had been made to the public only in fragments, analyze their characteristics as objects of records management, and propose directions and strategies to provide them as part of online service. For these purposes, the investigator analyzed Moon's personal life and life in prison as the backgrounds of their creation and examined their unique characteristics as prison letters according to the scope and size, recipients, reproduction and circulation process, and the medium of lettercards. Based on these efforts, the study shed new light on the significance of use in private archives and provided a case of online utilization tasks and strategies based on the characteristics of letters as one of the representative types of personal records.

Police Networks for Criminal Intelligence Functions: Based on Informal Social Network Analysis (경찰 범죄정보 수집 활동의 관계망 분석: 비공식적 사회연결망 분석을 중심으로)

  • Recently, the necessities of gathering, producing, and sharing criminal information are critically important as intelligence functions of police agencies to improving public safety and national security. However, the inadequacies and barriers within which police agencies have in regard to intelligence functions impede criminal information gathering, intelligence producing within their agency, and intelligence sharing with other agencies. In this study, we analyzed informal networks constructed from a survey dataset of information and intelligence sharing among officers in police agencies. The results revealed the different structural properties of intelligence networks between police agencies. We did find that officers with high indegree and outdegree in a network played critical role on the dynamics and degree of intelligence gathering and assessment responsibilities. Finally, we could find evidence that the potential role of intermediary triggered relational dynamics for developing and sharing critical information among all police agencies.
