Separation of the Heavy Metals by macrocycles- mediated Emulsion Liquid Membrane Systems (거대고리 화합물을 매질로한 에멀존 액체막게에 의한 중금속이온의 분리)

  • Result of this study indicate that two criteria must be met in order to have effective macrocycle-mediated transport in these emulsionsystem. First, one must effective extraction of the post transition metals, $Cd^{2+}$. $Pb^{2+}$ and $Hg^{2+}$ , into toluene membrane. The effectiveness of this extraction is greatest if log K values for the metal-macrocycle interaction is large. Second, the ratio of the log K values for the metal ion-receiving phase to the metal ion-macrocycle interaction must be large enough to ensure quantitative stripping of the metal ion at the toluene phase interface. Control of the first step can be obtained by appropriate selection of macrocycle donor atom, substituents, and cavity radius. The second step can be controlled by selecting the proper complexing agent for inclusion in the receiving phase. The order of the transport, when using the several $A^-$ species such as $SCN^-$, $1^-$, $Br^-$ and $Cl^-$ is the order of the changing degree of solvation for $A^-$ and the transport of the metals is also affected by the control of concentration for receiving species because of solubility-differences. In this study, we can seperate each single metal ion from the mixture of $Cd^{2+}$, $Pb^{2+}$, and $Hg^{2+}$ ions by using the toluene membranes controlled by optimized conditions. Transport of the single metal is also very good, and alkaline and alkaline earth metals as interferences ions did not affect the seperation of the metals in this macrocycle-liquid membrances but transition metal ions were partially affected as interferences for the post transition metal ions.

Moisture Sorption Characteristics of Model Food Powders (모형 식품 분말의 흡습 특성)

  • The purpose of this research was to provide fundamental data required for the process design of conveying, storage and processing of food powders. Potato starch, corn starch, wheat protein, soybean protein, and model food powders prepared by mixing potato starch and wheat protein were selected and their sorption characteristics such as equilibrium moisture content, monolayer moisture content, and sorption enthalpy were determined. Equilibrium moisture content and monolayer moisture content of high starch powders were higher than those of high protein powders, and the equilibrium moisture content decreased with temperature. The determination coefficients of the regression equations to predict the equilibrium moisture content of food powders were from 0.997 to 0.999. Sorption enthalpy experiments indicated that powder of high moisture content showed lower sorption than that of low· moisture content, and the high protein powder showed lower sorption than high starch powder.

  • Of various design factors affecting icebreaking capability of an icebreaker, the stem angle(i.e., angle between bow stem and ice sheet) is the most important one under continuous icebreaking operation. This study focuses on the relationship between the bow stem angle of an icebreaker and its icebreaking capability. Considering relatively high loading-rate conditions with typical advancing speed of 3 to 4 knots, the material properties and deformation characteristics of sea ice are regarded as entirely elastic and brittle. In this paper the interaction process of icebreaker with level ice is simplified as a beam of finite length supported by Winkler-type elastic foundation simulating water buoyancy. The wedge type ice beam is loaded by the vertical impact forces due to the inclined bow stem of icebreaking vessels. The numerical model provides locations of maximum bending moment where extreme tensile stress arises and also possible fracture occurs. The model can predict a characteristic length of broken ice sheet upon the given environmental and design parameters.

  • 초전도 케이블의 대용량 전력수송능력을 실계통에 적용하기 위해서는 정상상태 뿐 아니라 계통운용상 발생하는 비정상 상태에 대해서도 안정된 성능을 나타내야 한다. 계통운영시 가장 일반적으로 발생하는 비정상 상태의 하나인 계통불평형부하 상태에서의 초전도 케이블의 특성을 실증적으로 확인하기 위해 한전 고창전력시험센터에서 신뢰성시험을 실시하였다. 삼상 송전계통에서 각 상 도체전류는 각 상의 부하량에 의해 결정이 되므로 과도상태라 해도 상당한 시간동안 도체전류가 불평형일 경우 자기적으로 결합된 차폐층전류의 불평형상태가 발생한다. 차폐층전류는 삼상 순환회로의 중성도체가 존재하지 않는 경우 도체전류와의 차이가 발생하게 되어 자기차폐 실패의 원인이 됨으로서 AC손실 증가요인으로서 영향이 커진다. 본 논문에서는 도체전류의 불평형 상태를 실증적으로 모의 발생시켜 연관된 차폐층 순환전류의 형태 및 특성을 검토함으로서 삼상 초전도 케이블의 불평형 부하특성에 대한 연구 진행경과를 요약한다.

  • The objective of this paper is to provide an introductory scheme of Supply Chain Management(SCM) for the Air Force logistics support system. To accomplish our goal, we analyzed the successful example of the military logistics reform based on SCM in the United States, after we observed the concept and concerning methods of SCM. The introductory scheme of SCM was specifically provided on the transportation system and material information system of the aircraft repair parts, which are considered important in the Air Force logistics support system. The Air Force will be able to raise the complete mission supportability through the construction of an innovative logistics support system, which is low in cost and efficient, based on state of the art information and communication technology.

  • The Material Transportation Capability Analysis Method in North Korea includes adversary's activities such as destruction of bridge which is one kind of choke points in the road network and surprise attack against resupply march unit. Also, the amount of damage on choke points in the road network and repair time depending on repair unit commitment must be reflected. In this study, a scenario encompassing plausible resupply transportation circumstances while counterattacking into NK will be established. Then, based on such scenario, a simulation model will be established and the result of simulation will be compared to the results of numeric example which has been used in the ROK Army. We demonstrate, through a certain Corps operation area, that the Scenario-based Simulation Model results predict the performance of resupply operation very well. Therefore, it makes sustainment planners and commanders do activities which is suitable for battlefield and should be used in the real situation. It is also a stochastic model.

Experimental Study of Thermal Performance of Heat Pipe with Axial Trapezoidal Grooves (축방향 사다리꼴 그루브 히트파이프의 열성능에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • Analysis and experiment are performed to investigate the thermal performance of a heat pipe with axial grooves. The heat pipe was designed in a 6.5 mm I.D., 17 axial trapezoidal grooves. 1000 mm long tube of aluminium, and ammonia as working fluid. A mathematical equations fur heat pipe with axial grooves is formulated to obtain the capillary limitation on heat transport rate in a steady state. As a result, heat transport factor of heat pipe has the maximum at the operating temperature of 293K in 0m elevation. As the elevation of heat pipe increases. the heat transport factor of the heat pipe is reduced markedly, comparing with that of horizontal elevation of the heat pipe. It may be considered that such behavior of heat pipe is caused by the working fluid swarmed back to the condenser port due to gravity force and supercooled by a coolant of heat exchanger. Analytical results of heat transport factor are in a good agreement with those of experiment.

  • The purpose of this study is to establish a design method of tower service lift for offshore wind power system, as well as to conduct structure analysis of the service lift system. The service lift system will be built in the internal area of tower of the offshore wind power system. Design and structure analysis for the tower service lift system are conducted to clarify the stability and reliability of the system. Main objective of the design is to secure sufficient capability of transportation of workers and equipment with satisfactory performance within the designed tolerance limit. Total deformation and equivalent stress of the lift system by external load are examined using the results of structure analysis.

  • 컴퓨터의 발전은 철도 산업에 큰 영향을 끼치고 있다. 특히 기계식이나 수동식 신호 장치들이 마이크로프로세서를 탑재하면서 전자식, 자동식으로 변경되면서 철도 신호 시스템에 큰 변화를 가져왔다. 이로 인해 안전성은 더 높아지고 수송력 또한 증가하게 되었다. 이런 변화에 핵심적인 역할을 하는 것이 바로 열차집중제어장치이다 열차집중제어장치는 기본적인 역할은 운행되는 열차들의 운전정보를 획득하고 이 정보들을 이용하여 효율적으로 차량을 운행하게 제어하는 것이다. 하지만, 다양한 철도 차량들이 생겨나고 신호 시스템이 발전하게 되면서 열차집중제어장치도 더 다양한 기능과 처리 능력을 가지도록 설계되어져야 한다. 특히, 현재 큰 관심을 받고 있는 무인운전, 무선을 이용한 철도 시스템에서는 열차집중제어장치의 역할이 매우 중요한 부분이 되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이런 상황을 고려하여 실시간으로 정보를 처리하고, 차량을 안전하게 제어하며, 모든 상황들을 정보화할 수 있는 열차집중제어장치에 대한 설계를 하고자 한다.

  • This paper proposes a method for choosing the best transmission system expansion plan using nodal/bus delivery marginal rate criterion ($BMR_k$) defined newly in this paper. The objective method minimizes a total cost which is an investment budget for constructing new transmission lines subject to the $BMR_k$ which means a nodal deterministic reliability level requirement at specified load point. The proposed method models the transmission system expansion problem as an integer programming problem. It solves for the optimal strategy using a branch and bound method that utilizes a network flow approach and the maximum flow-minimum cut set theorem. Test results on an existing 21-bus system are included in the paper. It demonstrated the suitability of the proposed method for solving the transmission system expansion planning problem in competitive electricity market environment.
