The Application of Genome Research to Development of Aquaculture (양식산업에 발전을 위한 유전체 분석 기술 적용)

  • In the fishery industry, global aquaculture production has stagnated due to overfishing of aquatic products, restrictions between countries, and climate change. The aquaculture suggests the possibility of a blue revolution that can be expanded in a new way. The aquaculture industry now accounts for more than half of the fishery products from the sea as a raw material for seafood for human consumption. Various latest biological research methods are being applied for the development of a sustainable aquaculture industry. Genomics has made significant progress in recent years. Since the genome sequence of Atlantic cod was sequenced in 2011, the genomes of more species have been sequenced. The genome information is providing a more robust and productive knowledge base for the aquaculture industry, including breeding and breeding of superior traits, improving disease resistance quality, and optimizing aquaculture feed and feed methods. This review looked at the status of genome analysis technology and the current status of genome research of aquaculture species. The development of genome research technology and massive genomic information is important in solving the challenges of the aquaculture industry and will help sustainable fisheries and aquaculture.

  • While the electronic commerce (EC) applies to most products, whether digitized or not, the EC for fisheries does not seem very successful. Many reasons lie behind this. However, insufficient and/or inconsistent legal and institutional provisions and lack of adequate government supports should be an immediate concern. This study identifies and analyzes problems with the current electronic commerce and trade for fisheries, and suggests institutional provisions and policies for successful expansion of the newly introduced marketing and distribution system.

  • 국내 양식산업 구조는 노동집약적인 해조류와 패류중심이라 후진성과 영세성을 벗어나지 못하고 있고 주요 수산식품의 양식 생산량과 가치의 세계 순위는 계속해서 하락하고 있다. 또 WTO체제는 수산물 개방화를 촉진하고 있으며 최근의 IMF 한파 등 국내 경제여건 역시 국내양식산업을 더욱 힘들게 하고 있다. 실로 국내양식산업이 중대한 위기에 처해 있다고 해도 과언은 아니다. 이러한 위기를 극복하고 다가오는 21세기를 대비하기 위해 앞으로 체계적인 연구를 통한 국내 양식산업의 구조를 정비하고, 양식산업에서 가장 중요한 부분 중의 하나인 품종별 양어사료개발이 가장 시급한 현안임을 인식하여, 주요 품종별 배합사료 개발에 많은 투자를 하여야 한다.

  • UR 농산물 협상 이후 국내 농림수산물 및 가공식품 시장의 수입개방이 확대되어 생산 농어민이 직접적으로 큰 피해를 보고 있을 뿐만 아니라 국내 농산물을 원료로 사용하는 산지 가공업체도 경쟁력 학보에 어려움을 겪고 있다. 수입식품 중에서는 국내생산이 이루어지지 않아 수입이 불가피한 품목도 있고, 또한 국내의 기술수준이 뒤떨어지기 때문에 품질경쟁력에서 열위인 품목도 있지만 대다수 품목은 중국을 위시한 후발 개도국에서 낮은 기술과 저임 노동력을 이용하여 생산된 단순가공품으로서 이들 품목은 국내산에 비하여 가격은 낮지만 품질이 조악하고 안전성이 낮은 것으로 알려져 있다.   • The import quantity of the fishing products is very rapidly increasing in the Korea. In the result, the inspection problems are caused to important issues in the fishing products import managements. The major problems of the Korean fishing products inspection are in the system side and structure side. The important improvement schemes are the changement to positive system in the system side, and the unitary in the structure side.

  • This paper tries to estimate price and quality effects in US cross - sectional fisheries demand analysis using 1987-88 Nationwide Food Consumption Survey Data. The estimated results support to the hypothesis of quality effects in cross - sectional prices, which had been already proven by Cox and Wohlgenant(1986). But Since all zero observations for the respective incomes, expenditures and quantities are eliminated for the ease of computation, it may yield inconsistent estimates from selectivity bias.

농어업재해대책법 및 수산업법의 개정공포의 의미

  • 정부는 지난 8월 1일 농어민이 안심하고 농어업을 영위할 수 있는 기틀을 마련하고자 농업재해대책법을 농어업재해 대책법으로 개정, 공포(법률 제4,250호)하였으며, 또한 다수 어민에 대한 혜택과 수산물의 안정적 공급 기반 마련을 위해 수산업법의 개정, 공포(법률 제4, 252호)도 함께 실시하였다. 다음은 이들 두법의 개정 의미와 개정내용을 요약, 풀이한 것으로 농어민은 물론 이들과 불가분의 관계를 맺고 있는 우리 식품인들에게 이번 법률 개정의 취지를 알리고자 농림수산부 홍보문안 전문을 게재한다.
