  • The node mobility in the wireless mobile network environment increases the energy consumption. This paper proposes a CNMA (cluster-based node management algorithm) to reduce the energy consumption caused by node mobility, and to prolong the life cycle for cluster member nodes. The proposed CNMA traces the mobility for nodes between cluster header and member, and it analyses the energy capacity as monitoring periodically their relationship. So, it makes a division and merges by analysing the state transition for nodes. This paper is to reduce the energy consumption due to the node mobility. The simulation results show that the proposed CNMA can efficiently control the energy consumption caused by mobility, and it can improve the energy cycle.

  • The economical aspects should be evaluated to decide the LCC(Life Cycle Cost) of the long life facilities or equipments. Airplane operators evaluate the economical aspects to decide whether they maintain the existing airplane or substitute the new one. This paper presents economic life cycle and economic life cost for both Cessna 172R and Mooney 20J that are operated for flight training in 'H' University. The residual value that is used to calculate the capital recovery rate of the airplane is calculated based on the data from Blue Book published in USA. The annual equivalent on operation cost is calculated based on the 500 flight hours per year which is the annual flight hour for the airplane in 'H' university. This paper showed that economic life cycle of Cessna 172R is nine years since it was introduced in 2001, and Mooney 20J which was introduced in 1991 exceeds the economic life cycle in 2002.

  • Most new products not only suddenly disappear in the market but also quickly cannibalize older products. Under such a circumstance, retailers may have too much stock, and customers may be faced with difficulties discovering products suitable to their preferences among short life cycle products. To address these problems, recommender systems are good solutions. However, most previous recommender systems had difficulty in reflecting changes in customer preferences because the systems employ static customer preferences. In this paper, we propose a recommendation methodology that considers dynamic customer preferences. The proposed methodology consists of dynamic customer profile creation, neighborhood formation, and recommendation list generation. For the experiments, we employ a mobile image transaction dataset that has a short product life cycle. Our experimental results demonstrate that the proposed methodology has a higher quality of recommendation than a typical collaborative filtering-based system. From these results, we conclude that the proposed methodology is effective under conditions where most new products have short life cycles. The proposed methodology need to be verified in the physical environment at a future time.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of a life cycle of a theme park through looking at Everland in Yongin, Korea. The life cycle of Everland is divided into four stages. In "initial development" stage(1976 - the mid-80's), Everland become inclined the characteristics of an amusement park by constructing the amusement facilities in the Flower Center(botanical garden). In "growth" stage(the mid-80's - the early 90's), Everland had full grown to the amusement park and inclined to a theme park. In "maturity" stage(the early 90's - the mid-90's), many visitors were not motivated to re-visit Everland because the facilities and events did not change often. Therefore, Everland makes plans for multiple theme park. In "rejuvenation" stage(after the mid-90's), Everland has practiced the plans for multiple theme park and has become the family and accommodating-oriented theme resort park. Since 1976 when Everland was opened, it has evolved from an amusement park to a theme park by creating various and continuous innovations in facilities and events.
