A Study of RF Watermark Backward Compatibility under Various Channel Environments (다양한 채널환경 하에서의 RF 워터마크 역호환성 연구)

  • In a single frequency network (SFN) for Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC) terrestrial digital television (DTV) system, the interferences induced by the multiple transmitters and/or repeaters using the same frequency are inevitable. Since the presence of interferences results in performance degradation of the SFN, it is crucial to manipulate the interferences by adjusting the transmit power and timing of each transmitter and repeater. In the ATSC terrestrial DTV system, in order to facilitate the interference manipulation process, a transmitter identification (TxID) signal which is uniquely embedded in the signal to be transmitted from each transmitter and repeater is recommended. Even though the injection level of the TxID signal is much lower than the DTV signal, the TxID signal injection infects the DTV signal. Hence, the effect of the TxID signal on the DTV signal must be investigated before deployment. In this paper, the effect of the TxID signal on the performance of legacy DTV receivers under additive white Gaussian noise and multipath channel environments is investigated not only with computer simulation but also with laboratory and field tests. The test results show that the average threshold of visibility degradation of the legacy DTV receivers due to the TxID signal injection is less than 0.2 dB at the TxID injection level of -30 dB.

  • 한국의 DMB 서비스는 이미 대중화되어 많은 이용자들이 편리하게 이용하고 있으나, 송출되는 DMB 컨텐츠의 해상도에 비해 현재 대부분의 디스플레이 장치들은 더 높은 해상도를 지원하고 있으며 따라서 다양한 방법의 영상 재표본화 기술을 채용하고 있다. 특히 휴대용 장비의 경우 연산량 문제로 저품질의 영상을 제공하게 되고 따라서 이용자들의 만족도가 떨어지게 되었다. 일반적으로 주관적인 영상의 품질은 영상 내 개체에 대한 인식률에 따라 결정되며 에지에서의 개체 간 구분이 명확할수록 증가한다. 본 연구에서는 H.264 동영상 부호화 방법에서 사용되는 인트라 예측 정보와 Total Coefficient 정보를 이용하여 에지 정보를 추출하고 이에 따라 선택적으로 보간법을 적용하여 최대한 연산량을 줄이면서 선명함을 유지할 수 있는 방법을 제안한다.

  • 국내 디지털 방송 프로그램은 2016년 방송법 개정 이후, ITU-R / EBU에서 제안한 측정 방식을 활용하여 채널 및 프로그램 간의 음량을 맞추어 제공되고 있다. 일반적으로 뉴스나 중계와 같이 실시간으로 음량을 맞춰야 하는 분야를 제외하고는 평균 음량을 규정에 맞춰 송출하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 일괄적으로 평균 음량을 맞출 경우 발생하는 저음량의 명료도를 높이기 위한 기술을 제안한다. 즉, 방송 음량을 조절하는 기술 중의 하나로 오디오 콘텐츠를 분석하여 구간별 음량 조절 정도를 달리함으로써 저음량에서의 음성은 상대적으로 높은 음량을 가지고 배경음악 등을 상대적으로 낮음 음량을 가지도록 생성함으로써 명료도를 높이는 방식을 제안한다. 제안한 방식의 성능을 확인하기 위해 오디오 콘텐츠 분석 정확도 측정과 오디오 파형 분석을 실시하였으며 이를 통해 기존의 음량 제어 기술과 비교하여 음성 구간에 대해 음량을 증폭시키는 것을 확인하였다.

A Study on the Method for Measuring the live Calorific Value of LNG in storage tank using LNG Densitometer (LNG 밀도계를 이용한 저장 탱크 내 LNG 발열량 실시간 측정방법에 관한 연구)

  • The low caloric LNG, which didn't meet the gas interchangeability of Korea, has been imported from 2005 winter season. Amount of this LNG imports has been increased from year to year. In the near future, very low caloric LNG (calorific value ${\leq}$ 9,500 kcal/$Nm^3$) such as CBM, Shale LNG will be imported large amounts. For this reason, we need a method for monitoring live calorific values(CV) of LNG in each storage tank to supply gasified LNG with interchangeable CV at LNG receiving terminal. This study was conducted to develope the method for measuring the live CVs of LNG in each storage tank using LNG densitometer. For this purpose, the accurate correlation between CV and density of LNG was derived and the uncertainty of this method was evaluated and also the measuring system for CVs was constructed at LNG receiving terminal. To verify this method, the results of measurement using this method were compared with the field data of LNG analysis and the results showed that the deviations were 0.17~0.47%.

  • The era of realistic broadcast with high fidelity has come after the wide-spread distribution of UHD display and the transmission of UHD experimental broadcast in CATV. However, UHD broadcast now has constraint because it requires much amount of bandwidth and data in broadcasting transmission and production system. Not only HEVC(High Efficiency Video Codec) which has more than two times higher compression rate but also cloud-based editing system would be the key to solve the problems above. Also, fast scene change detection of videos is needed to index and search UHD videos smoothly. In this paper, therefore, a method is proposed to index and search the scene change information of large volume UHD videos compressed with high-efficiency codec. Application usages of fast detection of scene change information in various UHD video environments are considered by using this algorithm.

  • The domestic maritime environment shows higher frequency of maritime accidents amidst greater traffic volume arising from increasing international seaborne trade and maritime leisure activities. To reduce such maritime accidents, there exist various kinds of safety navigation devices in the ship bridge aimed to mitigate burdens of navigators and support their accurate decision making. Amongst is the AIS considered very important, which is an automatic tracking system to assist understanding of the circumstances in the vicinity by receiving information of other ships and also sending its own; where the information contains errors initially, however, such wrong information is periodically transmitted, accordingly giving rise to hindrance sometimes in decision making by shore operators or ship navigators at sea. This study is to propose the error data and field management algorithm using fuzzy theory toward improving reliability and accuracy in ship related information received from AIS.

  • An ejector is a type of non-powered pump that is used to supply a secondary flow via the ejection of a primary flow. It is utilized in many industrial fields, and is used for fueling the vehicle because of less failures and simple structure. Since most of ejectors in industry are gas-to-gas and liquid to gas ejector, many research activities have been reported in optimization of gas ejector. On the other hand, the liquid ejector is also applied in many industry but few research has been reported. The liquid ejector occurs cavitation, and it causes damage of parts. Cavitation has bees observed at the nozzle throat at the specified pressure. In this study, a two-dimensional axisymmetric simulation of a liquid-liquid ejector was carried out using five different parameters. The angle of the nozzle plays an important role in the cavitation of a liquid ejector, and the performance characteristics of the flow ratio showed that an angle of $35^{\circ}$ was the most advantageous. The simulation results showed that the performance of the liquid ejector and the cavitation effect have to be considered simultaneously.

  • The study aimed to develop a tractor drawn animal slurry manure sub-soil injector for arable land and thus, can reduce the waste management cost through effective treatment and utilization of animal slurry manure. The application of animal slurry manure to agricultural land will probably be one of the most effective ways to enrich the soil with vital nutrients. However, some existing slurry manure spenders are not suitable in the field because of their adverse effects to the environment. Based on this premise, a prototype was designed and assembled using 5 sub-soiling standards attached to the sin injector device. The traction force of the Prototype measured in the depth of 10 cm and 15 cm from the ground surface of a paddy field was 1,062 kgf and 1,214 kgf, respectively. A unique feature of the machine was that there was an equal volume of slurry manure flowing from each delivery pipe and regulated by a pressurized container that was likewise synchronized with the speed of the tractor The sub-soiling manure injection system can mitigate or reduce the harmful emission of obnoxious gases and malodor during the injection operation.

  • 본 PowerMeter-Modem은 시스템 서버의 전단 통신 장치부의 무선모뎀과 IS-95B 망을 통해 서킷 접속을 하며 검침수행 관련정보를 수신하여 전자식 전력량계와 RS232 시리얼통신을 이용하여 전자식 전력량계의 전력량의 데이터를 취득 후 가공하여 서킷 방식이나 TCP/IP 프로토콜을 이용 패킷형태로 검침데이타를 IS-95B 망과 시스템간 프로토콜 변환장치를 거쳐 전단 통신 처리장치로 송출하는 역할을 한다.

  • NTSC 전송신호 품질의 한계를 보완하기 위하여 디지털 장비를 방송 제작에 도입하던 추세가 최근 몇 년 동안 서버(Server)와 네트웍(Network)을 이용한 디지털 제작 환경이라는 새로운 시도로 변화되고 있다. 그리고 이러한 시도는 앞으로의 방송환경의 변화--다채널·다매체·고화질시대에 맞는 제작 환경의 필요성--와 지상파 디지털 방송이 본격화되면서 더욱 가속화될 전망이다. 본 논문에서는 이와 같은 제작 환경의 변화에 맞는 방송 시스템을 구성하기 위하여 첫 번째 네트웍 환경의 제작 시스템 구성을 위하여 방송용 테이프(Tape) 기반의 자료실을 대용량 서버로 대체할 때 도입해야 하는 디지털 저장매체에 저장된 신호 규격(Format)을 결정하기 위한 MPEG2 Generation Loss Test를 진행하였으며, 두 번째로 결정된 신호 규격을 현재의 제작 시스템에 적용시키기 위한 방안을 살펴보고 마지막으로 방송 자료의 저장, 송출, 편집 등 제작 전과정이 일관된 흐름으로 처리될 수 있는 서버와 네트웍을 기반으로 한 디지털 방송 시스템을 설계하였다.
