Slump Loss and Compressive Strength of Lightweight Concrete according to the Replacement Level of Lightweight Fine Aggregate (경량잔골재 치환율에 따른 경량콘크리트의 슬럼프 손실과 압축강도)

  • Five lightweight concrete mixes were prepared to examine the effect of the replacement level of lightweight fine aggregates on the slump loss and compressive strength of lightweight concrete. Test results showed that the increase of the replacement level of lightweight fine aggregate accelerated the slump loss of the lightweight concrete, while had marginal influence on the compressive strength development of the concrete.

Fabrication of Low Reflectance Optical Fiber Mirrors (저 반사율을 가진 광섬유 거울의 제작)

  • Low reflectance optical fiber mirrors in the continuous length of the single mode fiber were fabricated using mechanical splices and pieces of fiber coated with $TiO_{2}$ dielectric film at the cleaved end. When fiber mirrors of refelctance of about 1% were produced, the insertion loss ranged from 0.055dB to 0.3dB and the average insertion loss was 0.15 dB. These mirrors could be produced easy in the field.

  • 본 논문에서는 다단계상호연결 네트워크에 기반한 입력버퍼 구조의 ATM 스위치에 관해서 언급한다. 제안된 방법은 HOL 블록킹으로 인해 균일 트래픽(uniform traffic) 하에서 최대 약 58.6%의 처리율을 넘지 못하는 문제를 해결 할 수 있는 방법을 제시하며, 또한 오류허용 기능을 확장시키기 위하여 베이스라인 네트워크에서 버디 연결 매핑 및 제한연결 매핑 특성을 이용한 다중경로를 제공할 수 있는 버퍼 기법에 관하여 언급한다. 시뮬레이션에 의한 성능 평가 결과, 기존 방식과 비교하여 좋은 처리율과 셀 손실율을 보였으며, 더욱이 오류 스위치의 증가에도 불구하고 처리율의 수준은 적정한 셀 지연 범위 내에서 유지될 수 있음을 보여주고 있다.

An Effective Hybrid UPC Algorithm for the Traffic Control of ATM Networks (ATM 망의 트래픽 제어를 위한 효율적인 하이브리드 UPC 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, a hybrid UPC algorithm is proposed, which combines the representative Leaky Bucket UPC algorithm with the EWMA window algorithm in the ATM network and then its performance Is evaluated. The hybrid UPC algorithm is made up of Leaky Bucket and EWMA, which control the Peak bit rate and the mean bit rate, respectively. According to the result of the simulation using BONeS with the On/off traffic source model. it is revealed that the proposed UPC algorithm has superior performance to the existing Leaky Bucket UPC algorithm with regard to both the cell loss rate and the buffer size.

  • In this paper, we propose a video sequence coding scheme called AMV (Auxiliary Motion Vector) to minimize error propagation caused by transmission errors over the Internet. Unlike the conventional coding schemes the AMY coder, for a macroblock in a frame, selects two best matching blocks among several preceding frames. The best matching block, called a primary block, is used for motion compensation of the destination macroblock. The other block, called an auxiliary block, replaces the primary block in case of its loss at the decoder. When a primary block is corrupted or lost during transmission, the decoder can efficiently and simply suppress error propagation to the subsequent frames by replacing the block with an auxiliary block. This scheme has an advantage of reducing both the number and the impact of error propagations. We implemented the proposed coder by modifying H.263 standard coding and evaluated the performance of our proposed scheme in the simulation. The simulation results show that AMV coder is more efficient than the H.263 baseline coder at the high packet loss rate.

The Classification of Congestion and Wireless Losses for TCP Segments Using ROTT (상대전송지연시간을 이용한 TCP 세그먼트의 혼잡 손실과 무선 손실 구분 알고리즘)

  • TCP is popular protocol for reliable data delivery in the Internet. In recent years, wireless environments with transmission errors are becoming more common. Therefore, there is significant interest in using TCP over wireless links. Previous works have shown that, unless the protocol is modified, TCP may perform poorly on paths that include a wireless link subject to transmission errors. The reason for this is the implicit assumption in TCP that all packet losses are due to congestion which causes unnecessary reduction of transmission rate when the cause of packet losses are wireless transmission errors. In this paper, we propose a new LDA that monitors the network congestion level using ROTT. And we evaluate the performance of our scheme and compare with TCP Veno, Spike scheme with NS2(Network Simulator 2). In the result of our experiment, our scheme reduces the packet loss misclassification to maximum 55% of other schemes. And the results of another simulation show that our scheme raise its transmission rate with the fairness preserved.

Implementation of Diplexer using Heterogeneous Dielectric Multilayer Organic Substrate (이종 유전율의 다층 유기물 기판을 이용한 diplexer 구현)

  • 본 논문에서는 SoP-L(System on Package-Laminates) 기술을 이용하여 이종의 유전율을 가진 유기물 적층 기반의 수동소자를 이용한 GSM/DCS 대역 분리용 diplexer를 설계, 제작하였고 그 특성을 고찰하였다. SoP-L 기술은 LTCC기술과 같은 타 SoP 기술과 비교해서 이종의 물질을 접합하는데 용이하고 공정비용이 저렴하다. 이러한 장점을 이용하여 캐때시터는 유전율 40의 고유전율 재료를 사이에 두고 구성하였고, 인덕터 부문에는 유전율 4률 적용, 정방혈 스파이럴 구조로 두 개 층으로 구성하여 소형화를 이룰 수 있었다. 제작 시에 구리와 유기물을 적층, patterning 하였고, 수직 via hole 을 형성하고 구리의 무전해, 전해 도금 과정을 거쳐 각 소자를 연결하였다. 이러한 과정을 거쳐 제작된 diplexer의 GSM 저역 통과 필터는 0.52 dB이하의 삽입손실과 20 dB 이상의 반사손실을 가지고 DCS 통과 대역 부근에 notch 가 존재하도록 설계함으로써 DCS 통과 대역에서 17 dB 이상의 저지특성을 나타내었다. DCS 고역 통과 필터는 1.2 dB 이하의 삽입손실과 16 dB 이상의 반사손실을 가지며 GSM 통과 대역 부근에 notch를 가지도록 설계하여 GSM 통과대역에서 32 dB 이상의 저지특성을 나타내었다.

Efficient TTS Database Compression Based on AMR-WB Speech Coder (AMR-WB 음성 부호화기를 이용한 TTS 데이터베이스의 효율적인 압축 기법)

  • This paper presents an improved adaptive multi-rate wideband (AMR-WB) algorithm for the efficient Text-To-Speech (TTS) database compression. The proposed algorithm includes unnecessary common bit-stream (CBS) removal and parameter delta coding combined with speaker-dependent huffman coding to reduce the required bit-rate without any quality degradation. We also propose lossy coding schemes to produce the maximum bit-rate reduction with negligible quality degradation. The proposed lossless algorithm including CBS removal can reduce bit-rate by 12.40% without quality degradation compared with the 12.65 kbps AMR-WB mode. The proposed lossy algorithm can reduce bit-rate by 20.00% with 0.12 PESQ degradation.

  • 대규모 풍력발전 단지의 전력 계통에서 발생되는 전력손실의 종류를 분석하고 손실 저감 대책을 경제성 평가를 통해서 검토하였다. 검토결과 풍력발전 단지의 경우 부지면적이 넓어 배전선로에 의한 손실이 크고, 풍력발전설비의 설비 이용율(Capacity Factor)과 전력판매단가가 타 발전설비에 비해 상대적으로 높기 때문에 발전소내의 가공전선의 크기를 크게 선정하는 경우 투자비 대비 전력 손실 감소로 인한 발전량 증가로 얻는 경제적 이득이 더 크므로 경제적인 손실 저감 대책인 것으로 검토되었다.
