A Study on Prediction of Fatigue Damage Crack Growth for Stiffener Bonded Composite Laminate Panel (보강재 본딩접합 복합재 적층판구조 피로손상 균열진전 수명예측에 대한 연구)

  • The prediction and analysis procedure of fatigue damage crack growth life for a stiffener bonded composite laminate panel including center hole and edge notch damage, was studied. It was performed on the basis of fatigue damage growth test results on a laminated skin panel specimens and the analysis results of stress intensity factor for the stiffener bonded composite panel. According to the comparison between experimental test and prediction results of fatigue damage growth life, it was concluded that the residual strength and damage tolerance assessment can be carried out along to the edge notch crack growth.

  • The experimental work was performed to investigate the effect influenced to the hystresis and the flexural strength improvement of RC beam using carbon fiber plates. Major parameters of this experimental program were the section size of carbon fiber plates and the damage level of RC beam before reinforcement. Particularly, the damage level of beam is for the cases damaged by overloads. The damage level is for 30%, 60%, and 100% of flexural strength, and no damaged beams were also tested for comparison with the damaged one. from the test results, it showed that the beams reinforced by carbon fiber plates had the higher strength and lower deformation capacity than the general beams and that it had the same ductility ratio of the general beams.

  • Especially, when orthotropic material such as uni-dierectionally woven Carbon Fiber Sheet, resisting only the unidirectional tension, is used to strengthening bridge deck, the direction and width of the strengthening material should be considered very carefully. Thus, analysis of the failure characteristics and the premature failure mechanism of the strengthened decks based on the test results are required. In this study, the premature failure due to the interface debonding of strengthening material of the strengthened deck slab are inquired into failure mechanism through both experiments results and analyses with prototype strengthened deck specimens using carbon fiber sheet.   • Since the deterioration of concrete bridge decks affect durability, safety, and function, structural rehabilitation of damaged concrete deck that was strengthened with Fiber Reinforced Polymer(FRP) is increasing the latest. But recent studies on the strengthened structures are focused on the static behavior, however only a few studies on the fatigue behavior are performed. In this study, static and fatigue behavior of strengthened deck were peformed on 11 deck specimens strengthened with sheet typed Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer(GFRP) that were reinforced by two different strengthening methods for the static test. A amount of strengthening material in the each direction such as transverse and longitudinal was adopted experimental variables for the static test and also the stress level of the static maximum load are adopted for the fatigue test. By the results of the experimental study, with respect to the strengthened decks, the resistance effect of crack propagation and effect of stress distribution are improved. In addition, the rate of variation of compliance decreased.

  • 본 논문에서는 3차원 모델링을 이용하여 원공을 갖는 알루미늄 판의 패치 보강효과에 대해 알아보고자 한다. 구조물의 노후화로 인해 높은 응력을 받는 부재의 응력 특이점에서 내구력이 급격하게 저하되거나 때로는 부재의 정적파괴를 유발시키는 원인을 제공한다. 이로 인해 과거에는 손상된 모재에 보강 재료를 연결시키기 위하여 리벳 또는 볼트와 같은 기계적 연결을 통해 보강하였으나 최근에는 접착패치보강 기법이 그 주류를 이루고 있다. 패치 보강시 일면 패치 보강으로 인하여 면외 휨 효과가 발생된다. 판의 두께 방향에 따른 응력집중계수를 별도로 분석하였다. 기존의 3차원 솔리드 요소는 해의 정확성은 뛰어난 반면에 상당한 컴퓨터 시간을 요구하는 단점을 가지고 있다. 이러한 문제를 극복하기 위해서, 본 논문에서는 각 층의 변위장을 2차원 형상함수와 1차원 형상함수의 조합으로 구성하여, 면내거동에 대한 p-세분화와 면외거동에 대한 p-세분화를 분리시키는 방식을 취한다. 또한, 에너지 함수의 적분시 Gauss-Lobatto 적분법을 사용하여 절점의 위치에서의 응력점을 구하는 경우, 외삽과정을 계산하는 단계를 생략하면서도, 해의 정확성 측면에서는 거의 차이가 없기 때문에 좀 더 효율적인 수치적분이 될 수 있다.

  • The aim of the present paper is to clarify the damage characteristics fur ship bottom stiffened platings in grounding. For this purpose, a series of tests are performed. A rigid wedge is quasi-statically pushed into the high tensile steel plates with two stiffeners. The aspect ratio of plates(a/B) is in the range from 1.0 to 2.5 and the thickness of plates is in the range from 3.4 to 7.0mm. Also other parameters, namely the shape of wedge tip, wedge angle and property/direction of stiffeners are varied. The test is carried out using the 100ton universal test machine. During the loading. both applied force and length of cutting(penetration) resulting in the grounding force-penetration response are measured.

  • 단순 전단연결 구조를 가진 강철도교의 세로보 단부의 절취부위에서 많은 피로균열이 발견되었으며, 이러한 부위의 피로균열은 피로손상의 전형적인 예이다. 피로균열을 가진 세로보 절취부위의 보강방법을 연구하기 위하여 가로보 및 세로보의 상부 플랜지에 인장판을 부착한 경우와 부착하지 않은 경우로 구분하여 피로실험을 수행하였다. 피로실험에 사용된 하중은 현장에서 측정된 실동응력을 기초하여 빈도해석을 통해 산정하였다. 피로실험 결과, 인장판으로 보강한 모멘트 저항 연결구조상세가 철도교에서 균열성장을 효과적으로 정지시킬 수 있는 것으로 판명되었으며, 피로손상을 가진 절취부위의 보강방법으로 제시될 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

  • The Rehabilitation and repair of structurally deteriorated, reinforced concrete structures will be highly demanded in the near future. The purpose of this study is to investigate whether damaged beams that crack and deflection are developed by bending moment are restored to the former state. In conclusion, when specimens strengthened with Steel Plate, CFS(Carbon Fiber Sheet) and CFRP-Grid(Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic-Grid) are compared with standard specimen, flexural capacity is increased and ductility and energy absorbtion capacity are similar with undamaged specimen. Therefore Steel Plate, CFS(Carbon Fiber Sheet) and CFRP-Grid (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic-Grid) have highly efficiency as material of flexural strengthening.

  • Low-velocity impact damage in a composite stiffened panel was detected using built-in piezoelectric active sensor arrays. Using these piezoelectric active sensors, various diagnostic signals were generated to propagate Lamb waves through the structure and the responses were picked up to detect changes in the structure's vibration signature due to the damage. Three algorithms - ADI(Active Damage Interrogation), TD RMS (Time Domain Root Mean Square) and STFT (Short Time Fourier Transform) - were examined to express the features of the signal changes as one damage index. From damage detecting tests, two impact induced delaminations were detected and the location was estimated with the algorithms and diagnostic signals.

  • This paper introduces a new theory, that in a stiffened plate, a steel stiffener could be substituted a composite material in order to prevent from buckling. Changing a steel stiffener into a composite material would not only preclude welding, but could also prevent damage to the material due to fatigue and corrosion.A composite material is assumed to adhere to a steel plate, and is never separated from the plate until the steel plate reaches buckling.Such plate has variable shapes, with different lengths and widths, and also shows an anisotropic material property. LUSAS, a commercial finite element analysis package, was used in the buckling analysis.This paper investigated buckling behavior in anisotropic composite plates with variable parameters.
