SMC(Sheet molding compound) composite is mainly used for forming of vehicle's body. Considering the car accident, it is essential to research the impact behavior and characteristics of materials. It is difficult to identify them because the impact process is completed in a short time. Therefore, the impact damage analysis using FE(finite element) model is required for the impact behavior. The impact damage analysis requires the parameters for the damage model of SMC composite. In this paper, ANN(artificial neural network) technique is applied to obtain the parameters for the damage model of SMC composite. The surrogate model by ANN was constructed with the result in LS-DYNA. By comparing the absorption energy in drop weight test with the result of ANN model, the optimized parameters were obtained. The acquired parameters were validated by comparing the results of the experiment, the FE model and the ANN model.

Purpose: This study intends to develop a nonlinear cyclic plasticity damage model in the framework of finite element formulation, which is capable of taking large deformation effects into account, in order to accurately predict the hysteretic behavior of stainless steel structures. Method: The new cyclic constitutive equations that utilize the combined isotropic-kinematic hardening rule for plastic deformation is incorporated into the damage mechanic model in conjunction with the large strain formulation. The damage growth law is based on the experimental observations that the evolution of microvoids yields nonlinear damage accumulation with plastic deformation. The damage model parameters and the procedure for their identification are presented. Results and Conclusion: The proposed nonlinear damage model has been verified by simulating uniaxial strain-controlled monotonic and cyclic loading tests, and successfully applied to a thin-walled stainless steel pipe subjected to constant and alternating strain-controlled cyclic loadings.

As the number of aging railway bridges in Korea increases, maintenance costs due to aging are increasing and continuous management is becoming more important. However, while the number of old facilities to be managed increases, there is a shortage of professional personnel capable of inspecting and diagnosing these old facilities. To solve these problems, this study presents an improved model that can detect Local damage to structures using machine learning techniques of AI technology. To construct a damage detection machine learning model, an analysis model of the bridge was set by referring to the design drawing of a non-ballasted plate-girder railroad bridge. Static strain data according to the damage scenario was extracted with the analysis model, and the Local damage index based on the reliability of the bridge was presented using statistical techniques. Damage was performed in a three-step process of identifying the damage existence, the damage location, and the damage severity. In the estimation of the damage severity, a linear regression model was additionally considered to detect random damage. Finally, the random damage location was estimated and verified using a machine learning-based damage detection classification learning model and a regression model.

The performance prediction of fiber-reinforced composites has attracted engineer's attention in many fields, and the various theoretical and numerical methods have been proposed to predict the behavior of the fiber-reinforced composites. An evolutionary damage model for progressive interfacial debonding between circular fibers and the matrix is newly incorporated into the micromechanics-based elastoplastic model proposed by Ju and Zhang (2001) in this framework. Using the proposed model, a series of numerical simulations are conducted to illustrate the elastoplastic behavior and evolutionary damage of the framework. Furthermore, the influence of the evolutionary interfacial debonding on the behavior of the composites is investigated by comparing it with the result of a stationary damage model.
An existing Damage Index Method is verified to demonstrate its feasibility for detecting structural damage in truss bridges (1) for which modal parameters are available for a few modes of vibration and (2) for which baseline modal information is not available from its as-built state. The theory of approach to detect locations of damage and to identify baseline modal model is summarized on the basis of system identification theory and modal sensitivity theory. The feasibility of the Damage Index Method is demonstrated using a numerical example of a truss bridge with 11 subsystems of 211 members and for which only two modes of vibration were recorded for post-damaged state.

The development of proper joint model, which can describe real phenomena exactly and still can be used easily, is one of the most important element for the analysis of the mechanical and hydraulic behavior of discontinuous rock mass. In this study, an elasto-plastic constitutive model of joint behavior considering asperity degradation was extended with the concept of first and second order asperities. The proposed model was implemented to numerical code with discrete finite joint element. The parametric study with the various asperity angles and degradation coefficients showed that the model can reproduce the shear behavior of typical rough joints well. Results of laboratory monotonic and cyclic shear tests were compared with those of numerical tests to validate the model. The hydraulic model considering the relations between gouge production and aperture was introduced to the mechanical model. In an attempt to examine the performance of the model, comparative numerical test was conducted. Permeability between joint surfaces increased rapidly at the first stage, but became nearly constant with increasing shear displacement due to gouge production and uniform variation of aperture distribution.

This paper proposes a method for structuring the preprocessing process of a training image when color is applied using Pix2Pix, one of the adversarial generative neural network techniques. This paper concentrate on the prediction result can be damaged according to the degree of light reflection of the training image. Therefore, image preprocesisng and parameters for model optimization were configured before model application. In order to increase the image resolution of training and prediction results, it is necessary to modify the of the model so this part is designed to be tuned with parameters. In addition, in this paper, the logic that processes only the part where the prediction result is damaged by light reflection is configured together, and the pre-processing logic that does not distort the prediction result is also configured. Therefore, in order to improve the usability, the accuracy was improved through experiments on the part that applies the light reflection tuning filter to the training image of the Pix2Pix model and the parameter configuration.
