Flash memory is at high speed used as storage of personal information utilities, ubiquitous computing environments, mobile phones, electronic goods, etc. This is because flash memory has the characteristics of low electronic power, non-volatile storage, high performance, physical stability, portability, and so on. However, differently from hard disks, it has a weak point that overwrites on already written block of flash memory is impossible to be done. In order to make an overwrite possible, an erase operation on the written block should be performed before the overwrite, which lowers the performance of flash memory highly. In order to solve this problem the flash memory controller maintains a system software module called the flash translation layer(FTL). Of many proposed FTL schemes, the log block buffer scheme is best known so far. This scheme uses a small number of log blocks of flash memory as a write buffer, which reduces the number of erase operations by overwrites, leading to good performance. However, this scheme shows a weakness of low page usability of log blocks. In this paper, we propose an enhanced log block buffer scheme, FAST(Full Associative Sector Translation), which improves the page usability of each log block by fully associating sectors to be written by overwrites to the entire log blocks. We also show that our FAST scheme outperforms the log block buffer scheme.

This paper describes a method of tracking a close leading vehicle by color image processing using the pairs of tail and brake lights. which emit red light and are housed on the rear of the vehicle in stop-and-go traffic condition. In the color image converted as an HSV color model. candidate regions of rear lights are identified using the color features of a pair of lights. Then. the pair of tailor brake lights are detected by means of the geometrical features and location features for the pattern of the tail and brake lights. The location of the leading vehicle can be estimated by the location of the detected lights and the vehicle can be tracked continuously. It is also possible to detect the braking status of the leading vehicle by measuring the change in HSV color components of the pair of lights detected. In the experiment. this method tracked a leading vehicle successfully from urban road images and was more useful at night than in the daylight. The KAV-Ill (Korea Autonomous Vehicle- Ill) equipped with a color vision system implementing this algorithm was able to follow a leading vehicle autonomously at speeds of up to 15km!h on a paved road at night. This method might be useful for developing an LSA (Low Speed Automation) system that can relieve driver's stress in the stop-and-go traffic conditions encountered on urban roads.

In this paper, we proposed the new class-E frequency multiplier design that include the highest efficient characteristics. The proposed frequency multiplier is designed for 5.8[GHz] output using the frequency multiplier about 2.9[GHz] input signal. And studying in this paper is for the design and the implementation of the class E frequency multiplier. For the result, the maximum highest efficient characteristics 32[%] which is with output power 24.5[dBm] and 8.5[dB], is shown with frequency multiplier for the 2.9/5.8[GHz] class E. And we applied the linear method to the implemented class E frequency multiplier. As a result, the output spectrum for the linear is upgrade to 12[dB], 12[dB], 13[dB] of the ACPR characteristics on the +11[MHz], +20[MHz], +30[MHz] offset frequency in the center frequency. The result is satisfied with the 3.83[%] of the lineared EVM for the 64-QAM modulated method with the 54[Mbps] transmission velocity. In this paper, we show that the good compensation result of the linearity and the efficiency through the digital pre-linear method of the distortion with the frequency multiplier. Therefore, we suggested the frequency multiplier method are applying to WLAN, cellular, PCS, WCDMA, and etc.
Korean bennudagrass collections showed diverse genetic variations in their morphology, growth habit, and cytological aspects. Chromosome number and nuclear DNA content of the bennudagrasses indicated a ploidy level ranging from triploid (2n=3x) to hexaploid (2n=6x). In this study, we investigated the different responses of antioxidant enzymes (superoxide dismutase, catalase, peroxidase, ascorbate peroxidase) and cell membrane stability of those bennudagrass cytotypes to lower temperature and shorter day length, which meets a dormant induction in Korea. All the antioxidant enzymes were found to be higher during dormant stage, while the heme-containing catalase which converts hydrogen peroxide ($H_2O_2$) to water and oxygen molecules was activated before dormant initiation in the three cytotypes except for hexaploid bennudagrass. The triploid and tetraploid which exhibited relatively finer leaves and a rapid establishment speed were found to show increased activities of superoxide dismutase and peroxidase enzyme. The malondialdehyde(MDA) which is a product of lipid peroxidation in the cell membrane damaged by the hydroxyl radical was increased in all cytotypes as temperature declined, and tri- and tetraploids which had more protective antioxidant enzymes demonstrated a significantly lower MDA production. Similarly electrolyte leakage was higher in penta- and hexaploidy, seemingly more damage to cell membrane when low temperature was implemented. Results indicated that antioxidant responses of different cytotypes were genetically specific, which needs to be investigated the relevance with the low temperature tolerance in the bermudagrass further at the molecular level.

This paper proposes the performance evaluation test of attitude heading reference system (AHRS) suitable for small high speed autonomous underwater vehicle(AUV). Although IMU can provides the detail attitude information, it is sometime not suitable for small AUV with short operation time in view of price and the electrical power consumption. One of alternative for tactical grade IMU is the AHRS based micro-machined electro mechanical system(MEMS) which can overcome many problems that have inhibited the adoption of inertial system for small AUV such as cost and power consumption. A cost effective and small size AHRS which incorporates measurements from 3-axis MEMS gyroscopes, accelerometers, and 3-axis magnetometers has been developed to provide a complete attitude solution for AUV and the attitude calculation algorithm is derived based the coordinate transform equation and Kalman filter. The developed AHRS was validated through various performance tests as like the magnetometer calibration, operating experiments using land mobile vehicle and flight motion simulator (FMS). The test of magnetometer calibration shows the developed MEMS AHRS is robust to the external magent field change and the test with land vehicle proves the leveling error of developed MEMS AHRS is below $0.5^{\circ}/hr$. The results of FMS test shows the fact that AHRS provides the measurement with $0.5^{\circ}/hr$ error during 5 minutes operation time. These results of performance evaluation tests showed that the developed AHRS provides attitude information which error of roll and pitch are below $1^{\circ}$ and the error of yaw is below $5^{\circ}$ and satisfies the required specification. It is expected that developed AHRS can provide the precise attitude measurement under sea trial with real AUV.

The aims of this study were to compare the biomethanation of CO2 through specific methanogenic activity (SMA) test which was inoculated with four different types of mixed microbial culture obtained from full-scale anaerobic digestion (AD) plants. The experimental results showed that CH4 conversion was the highest in the samples inoculated by seed sludge taken from ADs of food waste and brewery; under this condition, the produced biomethane contains 89.3-91.9% of CH4. Meanwhile, the lowest level was obtained in the sample from sewage sludge. The measured ratio of CH4 production rate to CO2 consumption rate in all reactors was higher than the theoretical value (1) in the middle of the period and soon dropped to 0.7-0.8. It might be due to changed metabolic pathways in the reactor by the degradation of residual organic matter and the increased activity of homoacetogenic bacteria.

This paper deals with characteristics analysis of a permanent magnet (PM) linear generator using analytical methods for wave energy harvesting. The wave energy is carried out from the movement of a yo-yo system. A linear generator using permanent magnets to generate a magnetic force itself does not require a separate power supply and has the advantage of simple maintenance. In addition to the use of a rare earth, a permanent magnet having a high-energy density can be miniaturized and lightweight, and can obtain high energy-conversion efficiency. We derived magnetic field solutions produced by the permanent magnet and armature reaction based on 2D polar coordinates and magnetic vector potential. Induced voltage is obtained via arbitrary sinusoidal input. In addition, electrical parameters are obtained, such as back-EMF constant, resistance, and self- and mutual-winding inductances. The space harmonic method used in this paper is confirmed by comparing it with finite element method (FEM) results. These facilitate the characterization of the PM-type linear generator and provide a basis for comparative studies, design optimization, and machine dynamic modeling.
We propose an interactive projection technique to display details of a large image in a high resolution and brightness by tracking a portable projector. A closed-loop based tracking method is presented to update the projected image while a user changes the position of the detail area by moving the portable projector. A marker is embedded in the large image to indicate the position to be occupied by the detail image projected by the portable projector. The marker is extracted in sequential images acquired by a camera attached to the portable projector. The marker position in the large display image is updated under a constraint that the center positions of marker and camera frame coincide in every camera frame. The image and projective transformation for warping are calculated using the marker position and shape in the camera frame. The marker's four corner points are determined by a four-step segmentation process which consists of camera image preprocessing based on HSI, edge extraction by Hough transformation, quadrangle test, and cross-ratio test. The interactive projection system implemented by the proposed method performs at about 24fps. In the user study, the overall feedback about the system usability was very high.
A layer channel, which can express effects on 3D image, is inserted to use it on application rendering effectively. The current method of effect rendering requires individual sources in storage and image processing, because it uses individual and mixed management of images and effects. However, we can save costs and improve results in images processing by processing both image and layer channels together. By changing image format to insert a layer channel in image and adding a hide function to conceal the layer channel and control to make it possible to approach image and layer channels simultaneously during loading image and techniques hiding the layer channel by changing image format with simple techniques, like alpha blending, etc., it is developed to improve reusability and be able to be used in all programs by combining the layer channel and image together, so that images in changed format can be viewed in general image viewers. With the configuration, we can improve processing speed by introducing image and layer channels simultaneously during loading images, and reduce the size of source storage space for layer channel images by inserting a layer channel in 3D images. Also, it allows managing images in 3D image and layer channels simultaneously, enabling effective expressions, and we can expect to use it effectively in multimedia image used in practical applications.
In this paper, we propose a moving object detection and tracking algorithm based on multi-frame feature point tracking information to reduce false positives. However, there are problems of detection error and tracking speed in existing studies. In order to compensate for this, we first calculate the corner feature points and the optical flow of multiple frames for camera movement compensation and object tracking. Next, the tracking error of the optical flow is reduced by the multi-frame forward-backward tracking, and the traced feature points are divided into the background and the moving object candidate based on homography and RANSAC algorithm for camera movement compensation. Among the transformed corner feature points, the outlier points removed by the RANSAC are clustered and the outlier cluster of a certain size is classified as the moving object candidate. Objects classified as moving object candidates are tracked according to label tracking based data association analysis. In this paper, we prove that the proposed algorithm improves both precision and recall compared with existing algorithms by using quadrotor image - based detection and tracking performance experiments.
