  • 본 논문에서는 시각장애인의 방송시청을 위해 제공되는 화면해설방송에 있어 실제 방송프로그램내의 화면해설오디오의 비율을 정량적으로 분석하는 방안에 대해 제안한다. 이를 위해 약 100 여편의 화면해설방송을 직접 청취하여 비율을 추출하였으며, 소프트웨어를 통한 분석결과와 비교하였다.

  • 유전자알고리즘을 병렬로 처리하려는 이유는 수행시간의 향상과 최적해의 향상이다. 하지만 이에 대한 연구와 응용이 적은데 이는 연구 환경이 열악하기 때문이다. 즉, 슈퍼컴퓨터와 같은 고가의 장비가 필요하며, 그것이 보편적으로 우리 주변에 있지 않다는 것이 가장 큰 장애가 되었다. 이를 극복하기 위한 방법은 에이전트라는 소프트웨어를 이용해서 유전자 알고리즘을 병렬로 처리를 하는 것이다. 이 연구에서는 이런 방법으로 유전자 알고리즘을 병렬로 처리를 하여도 수행시간의 향상과 최적해의 향상을 보일 수 있는지를 연구한다.

  • In this paper, we propose a steering concept that considers overall aspects in the CBSD (Component-Based Software Development) environments. While many researches which are concentrated on using components, market promotion and component development itself seem to be insufficient. To overcome this problem, we introduce a brokerage concept called“Value-Added Brokerage Concept”that provides the following three services:1) domain architecture-based component promotion, 2) intelligent component search, and 3) white-box service. Domain architecture-based component promotion facilitates balancing component production and promoting architecture-level large scale reuse. Intelligent component search enables to overcome the long time search and selection problem. Finally, white-box service is for solving maintenance problems, which is one of the most critical problem in the CBSD environments. Especially, we expect this proposed concept would be well adapted to our national environments.

  • Recently software security of the smart phone is an important issue in the field of information science and technology due to fast propagation of smart technology in our life. The smart phone as the security critical systems which are utilizing in terminal systems of the banking, ubiquitous home management, airline passengers screening, and so on are related to the risk of costs, risk of loss, risk of availability, and risk by usage. For the security issues, software hazard analysis of smart phone is the key approaching method by use of observed failures. In this paper, we propose an efficient integrative framework for software security analysis of the smart phone using Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) to gain a convergence security and reliability analysis technique on hand handle devices. And we discuss about that if a failure mode effect analysis performs simpler, not only for improving security but also reducing failure effects on this smart device, the proposed integrative framework is a key solution.

An User-Friendly Kiosk System Based on Deep Learning (딥러닝 기반 사용자 친화형 키오스크 시스템)

  • This study aims to provide a customized dynamic kiosk screen that considers user characteristics to cope with changes caused by increased use of kiosks. In order to optimize the screen composition according to the characteristics of the digital vulnerable group such as the visually impaired, the elderly, children, and wheelchair users, etc., users are classified into nine categories based on real-time analysis of user characteristics (wheelchair use, visual impairment, age, etc.). The kiosk screen is dynamically adjusted according to the characteristics of the user to provide efficient services. This study shows that the system communication and operation were performed in the embedded environment, and the used object detection, gait recognition, and speech recognition technologies showed accuracy of 74%, 98.9%, and 96%, respectively. The proposed technology was verified for its effectiveness by implementing a prototype, and through this, this study showed the possibility of reducing the digital gap and providing user-friendly "barrier-free kiosk" services.

A Design of Mobile e-Book Viewer interface for the Reading Disabled People (독서장애인용 모바일 전자책뷰어 인터페이스 설계)

  • As the eBook market grows fast recently, various eBook viewer solutions such as hardware viewers and software readers came out to the market. We can, however, hardly find mobile eBook interfaces for the reading disabled people who have difficulties in reading for their visual impairment or learning disabilities, or dyslexia. An eBook viewer interfaces for the reading disabled people should be carefully and distinctively designed because the reading disabled people cannot use normal versions of eBook viewer. In this paper, we suggest a eBook viewer interface model to make the reading disabled people read eBooks easily. Depending on the type of the reading disabled people: the full blind, the almost blind, the just learning disabled, our model provides an adaptive interface to make them read eBooks effectively. In addition, unlike the existing simple audio books, we also support annotation systems to make the reading disabled people interact with eBook viewer. To show the effectiveness of our model, we implemented an eBook viewer prototype on an android-based mobile device. We are sure that our model and implementation can make the reading disabled people, who is 10% of all the domestic people, read eBooks effectively.

Analysis of Feature Extraction Methods for Distinguishing the Speech of Cleft Palate Patients (구개열 환자 발음 판별을 위한 특징 추출 방법 분석)

  • This paper presents an analysis of feature extraction methods used for distinguishing the speech of patients with cleft palates and people with normal palates. This research is a basic study on the development of a software system for automatic recognition and restoration of speech disorders, in pursuit of improving the welfare of speech disabled persons. Monosyllable voice data for experiments were collected for three groups: normal speech, cleft palate speech, and simulated clef palate speech. The data consists of 14 basic Korean consonants, 5 complex consonants, and 7 vowels. Feature extractions are performed using three well-known methods: LPC, MFCC, and PLP. The pattern recognition process is executed using the acoustic model GMM. From our experiments, we concluded that the MFCC method is generally the most effective way to identify speech distortions. These results may contribute to the automatic detection and correction of the distorted speech of cleft palate patients, along with the development of an identification tool for levels of speech distortion.

  • According to the development and expansion of software and hardware about recent information technologies(IT), disabled persons in using IT seem to feel more information gap. Devices for IT are important tools for users including disabled persons to communicate with each other and get information. Although the Korea faces ageing society rapidly, products for disabled persons are seldom shown in time for use. As getting older especially, one of the body function disorders is visual disturbance. There are tools, braille lettering, for disabled persons with visual disturbance to communicate or get information from book. Compared to general books, however, braille lettering book is lack of including all of information of our society. Therefore, in this paper, we implement and show an embedded system for disabled person with visual disturbance to get information by scanning text, extγacting characters and converting the text to speech automatically.

  • There are many methods to enhance the fault tolerance of the CORBA based real time systems by viewpoints. Among them, this paper provides a method to enable seamless services where the systems based on the CORBA have object's faults originated processing real time information. Namely, this paper observes a method to deal efficiently with object's faults happening in 3 tier architecture environments. It is possible to replicate objects as a way to enhance the fault tolerance considering object's faults. Along with it, this paper shows a method to enhance the fault tolerance ultimately and then keep the service continuity by prividing a way to allow to continue to run the systems until the FT-CORBA based one's faults are recovered.
