Pattern Noise Prediction for Passenger Car Tire (승용차용 타이어 패턴에 따른 소음 예측 기법)

  • 자동차에서 발생되는 소음은 여러 가지 발생원으로부터의 복합적인 것으로서 차량의 속도가 고속화하면서 타이어 소음의 기여도가 매우 커지는 것으로 알려져 있다. 타이어 소음은 근본적으로 노면과 타이어의 상호작용에 의하여 발생되는 데 타이어/노면의 상호작용에 영향을 미치는 인자로는 마모상태, 차량속도, 하중, 공기압, carcass 구조, 타이어 온도등 여러 가지가 있으나 tread 모양과 노면의 상태에 가장 크게 영향을 받는다. 본 연구에서는 승용차용 155SR13 radial 타이어를 대상으로 하여 실내에 설치된 dynamometer를 이용하여 groove 의 개수, groove 길이, groove 폭, groove 깊이, groove 방향 등 트레드 패턴 인자가 발생소음에 미치는 기여도를 실험적으로 측정하고 트레드 패턴형상에 따른 소음도를 예측할 수 있는 실험식을 구했다. 또한 단일 groove 내에서 발생되는 소음의 시간신호를 측정하여 모델화하고 차량속도와 groove 사이의 간격에 따른 시간신호를 합성하고 이 신호로부터 FFT 알고리듬을 통해 소음 spectrum을 구하는 소음 예측 프로그램을 개발하였다. 비교적 단순한 tread 패턴에 대해 이를 적용한 결과 실험적으로 구한 spectrum과 상당히 유사함을 볼 수 있었다.

  • 소음의 저감 대책은 소음원의 소음 감쇠, 소음 전달 경로의 소음 저감 및 수음자에 대한 대책 으로 나눌 수 있다. 여기에서 소음원의 소음 저감 대책을 세우기 위해서는 소음원의 주파수 특 성을 정확하게 분속해야 하고 이를 위해서는 자유음장이라는 공간이 필요하게 된다. 음향학적 으로 자유음장이란 점음원으로부터 무지향적으로 방사되는 음의 음압레벨(sound pressure level )을 따르는 음장으로 정의된다. 이는 음원으로부터 거리가 두 배 증가함에 따라 음압레벨이 6dB 감소함을 의미한다. 즉, 주변 소음으로부터 발생한 음이 다른 물체나 벽으로부터 반사된 반사음 이나 회절음의 영향을 받지 않는 음장을 말한다. 자유음장은 자연계에서 극히 제한적으로 존재 하지만 인간이 측정장비 및 측정 대상물을 이동시켜 이용할 수 없으므로 인공적인 시설로서 무 항실을 만들어 자유음장 환경을 조성한다. 이 글에서는 무항실의 특성 및 국내에서 시공되는 무향실의 설계 및 제작 과정을 간단히 소개하고 현재의 국내 무항실의 수준과 앞으로 나아갈 방항을 제시하고자 한다.

  • 공항주변지역의 항공기 소음영향은 항공기 1대에 의한 소음크기나 시끄러움보다는 항공기가 계속하여 반복 운항하는데 더욱 큰 영향이 있다.그래서 ICAO가 1971년에 공포한 Annex 16 Aircraft Noise중에서 다수의 항공기에 의해 장기간 연속폭로 된 소음척도로서 EPNL에 항공기 운항회수와 운항시간대등을 고려한 WECPNL(가중 등가속 감각 소음 레벨 : Weighted Equivalent Continuous Perceived Noise Level)이 제안되었다.

  • It is difficult to measure aircraft noise at many points, because the noise measurement is need to long time, 24 hours and consecutive 7 days, which results in high costs. As an alternative, movement measuring points are set to measure aircraft noise for less than 24 hours, and so it is needed to overcome the limitation of shorter measuring time. Thus, this study measured military aircraft noise on movement measuring points and conducted a comparative analysis on the data according to each measuring time. The data of measuring noise for 24 hours and less than 24 hours were compared to suggest appropriate measuring time on the movement measuring points. As a result of comparing data of measuring noise, an error was within 3 dB in case of measuring time of 3 hours, and an error was within 1 dB in case of 6 hours of measurement.

  • In this paper, aerodynamic noise characteristics of high-speed trains were deduced from the beamforming method. First, pass-by noise of high-speed trains was measured by a microphone array system. This measurement suggested that the majority of the aerodynamic noise produced came from the bogie area, the pantograph and its cover, and inter-coach gaps. Then, beampower outputs of a position in high-speed trains were obtained from the beamforming method. By Fourier transform, sound characteristics of the position in the frequency domain were deduced from the beamforming power spectrum. From this study, aerodynamic noise characteristics from the major sources of high-speed trains were drawn.

  • The dominant source of noise in a sea-connected piping system is usually due to a seawater cooling pump which circulates seawater to operate onboard equipments normally, and so its water-borne noise with some tonal frequencies should be reduced using proper silencers. In order to obtain the transmission loss of water-borne noise silencers experimentally the present paper suggests a transfer function technique that acoustic wave in the piping system is decomposed into its incident and transmitted components when the reflection at the termination of the system exists. Good agreement in the interested frequency range with theory and the proposed technique shows the validity of the technique.

  • This study suggests a suitable random transverse tining for reduction tire/road noise from concrete pavement. Through literature reviews, random transverse tining that can disperse the energy concentrated to the specific frequency was suggested using the LCG(linear congruential generators) algorithm. The spacing of tining from this study is applied to Daegu-Pohang express highway. For the purpose oi comparison, two other random tining sections were included that are research products from Chung-Ang university and Wisconsin DOT. In result of pass-by noise measurement by car, though designed section is superior to the others as noise reduction by reducing pitch noise, the effectiveness is not large. In case of traffic noise measurement, lower noise was observed at random transverse tining sections than uniformly transverse tining section, too. But there are seine differences between pass-by noise and traffic noise.

Effect of Noise Cancelling Devices on Dental Handpieces Using Ear Model (귀 모형을 이용한 치과 핸드피스에 대한 소음 저감 장치의 효과 분석)

  • This study intended to evaluate noise level of dental handpieces and the effects of noise cancelling devices. An ear model was designed to measure the level of the noise delivered to the inner ear during dental handpiece operation. The level of noise was measured in various conditions using the ear model and the portable noise meter. Noise level was measured again after applying of 4 different noise cancelling devices to the model ear. The noise level of dental handpieces was 82.5 - 84.4 dB. When 4 types of noise canceling devices were applied, the noise level reduced to 67.4 - 73.8 dB. All 4 devices had statistically significant effect in reducing the noise of the handpiece. Considering the intensity and exposure time, noise in dental clinics can cause hearing damage to dentists. For protection from the risk of occupational hearing damages, noise canceling devices can be recommended.

  • This paper deals with the process of estimating the environmental noise generated from the actual flying aircraft using the noise measurement results obtained through the wind tunnel test and verifying it through flight tests. In order to evaluate the environmental noise of an aircraft, noise tests and evaluations are generally conducted according to the procedures prescribed by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). In this paper, we introduced environmental noise evaluation method that can be applied to composite both fixed-wing aircraft and multi-copter, and introduced the evaluation method by experiment. This paper introduces the process of simulating the noise test results measured in the wind tunnel test using real flight test results. In addition, in consideration of flight operating conditions and noise measurement methods proposed by the ICAO, the effective perceived noise level (EPNL) was predicted by performing both the wind tunnel test and the aircraft flight test.
