  • In modern society, there remain underprivileged communities that do not perform their own archival activities and documentation. Thus, many outside citizen archivists take the role of documenting the lives and activities of such communities on their behalf. However, ensuring the partyhood of these citizen archivists who are not part of the community proves to be problematic. This study aims to analyze how outside citizen archivists acquire partyhood in the process of documenting underprivileged communities through a case study labeled "Citizen Archivist Training Project" in Wanwol-dong, an area in Busan with a huge prostitution business. First, the process of acquiring partyhood in the outside citizen archivists' documentation of underprivileged communities was divided into three stages, following the literature review process. Second, this partyhood acquisition process was investigated stage by stage through interviews with participants in the case study in Wanwol-dong. Third and finally, following the investigation's findings, the attitude and position outside citizen archivists should have and take, respectively, in documenting underprivileged communities were identified.

  • Tattoo, which has been 5000 years' history is the symbol of the collective society. It was used as one of the methods not only to defense and camouflage but also to decorate themselves. In modern society, tattoo culture is either limited to ethnic minorities or be used as a decorative element of personal preference. Among them, the Chinese ethnic minority, the Dai, is still maintaining its tattoo culture, but gradually faded. Hence, the necessity of protecting the tattoo culture of the Dai is essential. The procedures and methods of this study were conducted by analyzing an antique book, explore residential areas, data research, and data collection through interviews. According to research, the tattoo culture of the Dai has been consistently passed down through traditional tattoo pictorial books, the memories of tattooists, and the stories of people who got tattoos. However, the Dai's traditional culture and customs are influenced by the China political reform between 1952 and 1956, confirming that the size of tattoo culture was reduced than before and evanesces. As a result, in order to inherit the ethnic minorities Dai's tattoo heritage, records of tattoo culture are required. Besides, it is considered that the records of tattoo culture and interpretations of tattoo culture by tattooists and the people who got a tattoo due to aging in the future should be studied.

  • The aim of this study was to investigate how the small group activity system influences individual to form concepts of prime number and composite number through activity theory on learning process of mathematically gifted 5th-grade students. Student's worksheets, recorded video, and interview were gathered and transcribed for analyzing data. Process of concept formation and using symbol behavior were used to derive the stage of mathematical concept from students, and the activity system and stage of concept formation process were schematized through analysis of whole class activity system and small group activity system based on activity theory. According to the results of this study, two students who were in different activity groups separated into the state of semi-concept and the stage of complex thinking respectively, and therefore, social context and the activity system had effects on process of concept formation among the students.

  • It is necessary to construct authority records in OPAC to improve the precision and the recall by organizing and connecting information systematically. Especially, the authority records are widely used in the museums, archives, art galleries, etc as well as in the libraries for work collocation and search. But KORMARC-Authority Format (KSX6006-4) could not have been revised and managed consistently reflecting international cataloging trends and revision needs of Korea libraries since it was published in 1999. Resultingly, there are only few libraries that would have constructed the authority records in OPAC in Korea, and OPAC without authority records could deteriorate the search quality. Therefore, this study would suggest the revision of KORMARC-Authority Format by investigating authority related international trends such as ICP, FRAD, RDA, VIAF and analyzing new MARC21-Authority Format applying these authority related trends. The research methods were used such as literature review, the analysis of 5 domestic libraries' authority records and VIAF records, and the group interview with librarians.

  • This study analyzed the collaborative process in time series by dismantling the edit log big data of Wikipedia Korea, a representative online collaboration community, from early 2002 to 2019. Analysis elements were extracted from the document edit records, formatted in standardized XML, and analyzed using Python and R. The ways of editors' contribution, the characteristics of data contents, and the trend of document creation were explained by the analysis. An active contribution of a small set of editors and a loose participation of the majority were revealed. In addition, sociocultural characteristics that appear in online communities were also found in Wikipedia Korea. A new, diverse set of external resources is necessary to sustain the collective intelligence. An effort to settle new editors into the wikipedia community and an openness through circulation structure to avoid the exclusiveness of the management group are suggested.

  • Purpose: Recently, enterococcus spp. have become one of the most common nosocomial pathogens with increasing rates of multi-drug resistance. However, study on enterococcal urinary tract infections (UTIs) in children is very limited, especially community acquired UTIs. We studied the clinical characteristics of enterococcus spp. in community acquired UTIs and antibiotic resistance within our urban area. Methods: All children with first episode of community acquired UTIs due to enterococcus spp. and Echerichia coli who were admitted in Pusan National University Children's Hospital between January 2010 and January 2013 were included in our study. We retrospectively reviewed their medical records. Results: During the study period, 201 patients were identified to have first episode of community acquired UTIs. 154 cases were E.coli UTIs (76.6%) and 11 cases were enterococcal UTIs (5.5%) and all enterococcus spp. were Enterococcus feacalis. In enterococcal UTI group, voiding cystourethrogram(VCUG) was performed in 7/11 patients and demonstrated 4 vesicoureteral refluxes (VURs) with renal scar and 3 patients underwent corrective surgery. In E.coli UTI group, VCUG was performed in 121/154 patients and demonstrated 23 VURs and 11 patients underwent corrective surgery. Enterococcal group had significant high rate of underlying urinary abnormalities and surgical corrections compared with E. coli group. All enterococcus spp. were susceptible to ampicillin, vancomycin and linezolid, but all were resistant to tetracycline. They also showed 71.4% resistance to trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole and 20% resistance to ciprofloxacin. Conclusion: Community acquired enterococcal UTIs in children were rare within our urban area. However, they could be indicative of severe underlying urinary tract abnormalities.

  • Purpose : Rotavirus is the main cause of infantile diarrheal disease worldwide, especially in patients 3-24 months of age. Infants younger than 3 months of age are relatively protected by transplacental antibody. So the purpose of this study is to evaluate the clinical features and severity of neonatal rotaviral gastroenteritis less than 1 month of age. Methods : A retrospective chart review was established of 62 neonates less than 1 month of age and with a diagnosis of rotaviral gastroenteritis who had been admitted to Pochon CHA University between June 2002 through July 2004. The rotavirus was examined by stool latex agglutination. Results : During 2 years, the total number of admitted patients for rotaviral gastroenteritis was 688 and among these, less than 1 month of age accounted for 9%(62). The occurrence was generally even distribution from January to July($7.14{\pm}1.0$) but since then decreased($2.4{\pm}1.8$). The most common chief complaint was mild fever(46%) when admitted which subsided within 1 hospital day in most patients. 4 patients had seizure and cyanosis with no typical symptoms of rotaviral gastroenteritis. During admission, all the patients had diarrhea. 17% of the patients had leukocytosis and positive C-reactive protein. In one patient, stool occult blood test was positive but there was no necrotizing gastroenteritis evidence. The mean period of hospital day was $5.8{\pm}2.5$ and breast-milk feeding was 62.9%. Conclusion : Neonatal rotaviral gastroenteritis is not a rare disease. Most patients have fever and diarrhea and improve through conservative therapy but a few patients may have severe complications so we must be more cautious about the hygiene for prevention.
