Investigating the trend of online gamers plays an important role in forecasting, marketing and making policy decision in gaming industry. In this regards, various studies on gamers' trend and characteristics have been conducted. However, these precedent studies show limitation that they're static analysis since they are usually based on the surveys at a certain point. Therefore, this paper aims to identify some implications on forthcoming directions of gaming industry by analyzing dynamic trend of gamers based on the 8 years(from 2002 to 2009) of data from White Paper on Korean Games. Major implications found in this paper are as follows. Negative perception of games increases as the number of gamers increases. Among juveniles, games became a substitute for TV and the amount of time they play games depends on the existence and type of popular games of that time. Also, most item trading is intensively done by a small number of gamers.

This study dealt with the airport network applying the Structural Equivalence which has used in the field of social science network. It analyzed the size of aviation market and trade exchanges. The results between blocks through the Convergence of Iteration Correlation are as follows; Block 1 (major hub airport) and Block 5 (Australian and New Zealand airports) have a strong relationship between other blocks. Block 3 (CIS region) and Block 7 (Malaysia and Indonesia) have been indicated as relatively low degree. The structural equivalence analysis can be grouped as a small number of blocks with large and complex networks and also presented a significant result according to the nature of the relationship between aviation market and the level of trade exchanges.

In this paper, we describe a method that can recognize gestures by obtaining motion features information with principal factor analysis from sequential gesture images. In the algorithm, firstly, a two dimensional silhouette region including human gesture is segmented and then geometric features are extracted from it. Here, global features information which is selected as some meaningful key feature effectively expressing gestures with principal factor analysis is used. Obtained motion history information representing time variation of gestures from extracted feature construct one gesture subspace. Finally, projected model feature value into the gesture space is transformed as specific state symbols by grouping algorithm to be use as input symbols of HMM and input gesture is recognized as one of the model gesture with high probability. Proposed method has achieved higher recognition rate than others using only shape information of human body as in an appearance-based method or extracting features intuitively from complicated gestures, because this algorithm constructs gesture models with feature factors that have high contribution rate using principal factor analysis.

In the cause of car accidents in Korea, drowsy driving has shown that it is larger fctors than drunk driving. Therefore, in order to prevent drowsy driving accidents, drowsiness detection and warning system for drivers has recently become a very important issue. Furthermore, Many researches have been published that measuring alpha wave of EEG signals is the effective way in order to be aware of drowsiness of drivers. In this study, we have developed EEG measuring device that applies a signal processing algorithm using the LabView program for detecting drowsiness. According to results of drowsiness inducement experiments for small test subjects, it was able to detect the pattern of EEG, which means drowsy state based on the changing of power spectrum, counterpart of alpha wave. After all, Comparing to the results of drowsiness pattern between commercial equipments and developed device, we could confirm acquiring similar pattern to drowsiness pattern. With this results, the driver's drowsiness prevention system expect that it will be able to contribute to lowering the death rate caused by drowsy driving accidents.

This paper describes a flow experiment and characteristics of heavy metals based on microfluidics, in order to improve the prefabricated vertical drain system that is possible pollutants removal and soil improvement in soft ground polluted with various pollutants, simultaneously. The result showed that the surface with hydrophobic condition affected large effect on flow velocity pollutants, and pH condition was also influence factor for change of flow velocity. Especially, the flow velocity of lead has risen slightly, when pH was close to basicity in complex heavy metal. This means that lead pollutant can reduce a hydrophobic characteristic in comparison with a copper pollutant.

Recently the advent of web 2.0 era is an important trend in the business environmental change. Web 2.0 era means users' active participation, share, and openness, develop 'Internet penetration into everyday life,' and change many aspects of our society. web 2.0 has been making these following changes in the socioeconomic aspects: 1) acceleration of system shift to a small quantity of multi-species production system 2) growing influence of on-line channel/information to consumers 3) various minorities' power increase in the socioeconomic sector. web 2.0 has been making these following changes in the enterprise management: 1) the pursuit of open innovation from outside 2) active employment of viral marketing through Internet 3) the pursuit of present business transformation 4) strengthening of customer communication through open dialogue. Firms must squarely look at socioeconomic changes owing to web 2.0, and utilize them as business opportunities.

The quantile regression method proposed by Koenker et al. (1978) focuses on conditional quantiles given by independent variables, and analyzes the relationship between response variable and independent variables at the given quantile. Considering the linear programming used for the estimation of quantile regression coefficients, the model fitting job might be difficult when large data are introduced for analysis. Therefore, dimension reduction (or variable selection) could be a good solution for the quantile regression of large data sets. Regression tree methods are applied to a variable selection for quantile regression in this paper. Real data of Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) players are analyzed following the variable selection approach based on the regression tree. Analysis result shows that a few important variables are selected, which are also meaningful for the given quantiles of salary data of the baseball players.

This study was a qualitative case study of mother's experiences chidult in South Korea focusing on North Korean single mom defector with children in their 20s. The purpose of the present study was to explores the mother's experiences of North Korean single mom defector without their spouses. Semi-structured in-depth interviews were arranged with 3 North Korean refugee mothers without their spouses who met the criteria for the present research purpose. As a result of the analysis, the mother's experiences into five main clusters of themes which may be labeled as (1) The presence of more meaningful children in a strange land, (2) Everyday life, such as the superwoman, (3) The rigor of a care to too cumbersome, (4) Gratitude and value discovery in our daily lives, (5) To find new life. In all there are ten sub categories to consider. On the basis of these results, we presented some conclusions on the mother's experiences of North Korean single mom defector. We also presented some implications of these results on welfare services and future research.

This paper presents an approximate analytical solution to one-dimensional model of the charging process for stratified thermal storage tanks, in which variation of the inlet temperature as well as the momemtum-induced mixing is taken into accout. The mixing is incorporated into the model as a constant-depth perfectly mixed layer above the plug flow region. Based on the superposition principle, the variable inlet temperature is approximated by a number of step functions. Temperature distributions for the thermocline corresponding to three types of interfacial condition arr successfully derived in terms of well-defined functions, so that a linear combination of them constitutes the final solution. Validity and utility of this work is examined through the comparison of the approximate solution with an exact solution available for the case of linearly increasing inlet temperature. With increasing the number of steps, the present solution asymptotically approaches to the exact one. Even with a limited number of steps, the present results favorably agree with those by the exact solution for a wide range of the mixing depth. Also, it is revealed that fewer steps are needed for meaningful predictions as the mixing. depth becomes larger.
