The millimeter wave that uses the spectrum in the 30GHz~300GHz band has a shorter wavelength due to its high carrier frequency, so it is suitable for Massive MIMO systems because more antennas can be equipped in the base station. However, since an RF chain is required per antenna, hardware cost and power consumption increase as the number of antennas increases. Therefore, in this paper, we investigate antenna selection schemes to solve this problem. In order to solve the problem of high computational complexity in the exhaustive search based antenna selection scheme, we propose a approach of applying deep learning technology. An best antenna combination is predicted using a DNN model capable of classifying multi-classes. By simulation tests, we compare and evaluate the existing antenna selection schemes and the proposed deep learning-based antenna selection scheme.
The adsorption characteristics of ions were evaluated for the nitrate-selective carbon electrode (NSCE) in accordance with power supply methods. The NSCE was fabricated by coating the surface of a carbon electrode with anion-exchange resin powders with high selectivity for the nitrate ion. Capacitive deionization (CDI) experiments were performed on a mixed solution of nitrate and chloride ion in constant voltage (CV) and constant current (CC) modes. The number of total adsorbed ions in CV mode was 15% greater than that in CC mode. The mole fraction of adsorbed nitrate ion showed the maximum 58%, though the mole fraction was 26% in the mixed solution. This indicates that the fabricated NSCE is highly effective for the selective adsorption of nitrate ions. The mole fraction of adsorbed nitrate was nearly constant value of 55-58% during the adsorption period in CC mode. In the case of CV mode, however, the values increased from the initial 30% to 58% at the end of adsorption. We confirmed that the current supplied to cell is important factor to determine the selective removal of nitrate.
In this paper, we analyzed the electromagnetic characteristics of the spherical frequency selective surface with different arrangement of crossed dipole slot elements for reducing the RCS(radar cross section). The three dimensional MOM(method of moment) with RWG basis is used to analyze the proposed structure. To reduce the simulation time, we applied the BiCGSTab(Biconjugate Gradient Stabilized) algorithm as an iterative method and presented the comparison results with Mie's theoretical results for PEC sphere to show the validity of this paper. From the simulation results, the different arrangement of elements array showed the difference RCS that cannot be negligible. The arrangement method of element in frequency selective surface will be one of variables for the design of curved frequency selective structures.

The selective catalytic reduction (SCR) is known as a very efficient method to reduce nitrogen oxides (NOx) and the catalyst performs reduction from nitrogen oxides (NOx) to nitrogen (N2) and water vapor (H2O). The catalyst, which is one of the factors determining the performance of the nitrogen oxide (NOx) ruduction method, is known to increase catalyst efficiency as cell density increases. In this study, the reduction characteristics of nitrogen oxides (NOx) under various engine loads investigated. A 100CPSI(60Cell) catalysts was studied through a laboratory-sized simulating device that can simulate the exhaust gas conditions from the power generation engine installed in the training ship SEGERO. The effect of 100CPSI(60Cell) cell density was compared with that of 25.8CPSI(30Cell) cell density that already had NOx reduction data from the SCR manufacturing. The experimental catalysts were honeycomb type and its compositions and materials of V2O5-WO3-TiO2 were retained, with only change on cell density. As a result, the NOx concentration reduction rate from 100CPSI(60Cell) catalyst was 88.5%, and IMO specific NOx emission was 0.99g/kwh satisfying the IMO Tier III NOx emission requirement. The NOx concentration reduction rate from 25.8CPSI(30Cell) was 78%, and IMO specific NOx emission was 2.00g/kwh. Comparing the NOx concentration reduction rate and emission of 100CPSI(60Cell) and 25.8CPSI(30Cell) catalysts, notably, the NOx concentration reduction rate of 100CPSI(60Cell) catalyst was 10.5% higher and its IMO specific NOx emission was about twice less than that of the 25.8CPSI(30Cell) catalysts. Therefore, an efficient NOx reduction effect can be expected by increasing the cell density of catalysts. In other words, effects to production cost reduction, efficient arrangement of engine room and cargo space can be estimated from the reduced catalyst volume.
A lot of work has been done to improve the I/O performance of such a system that store and manage a massive amount of data by distributing them across multiple disks and access them in parallel. Most of the previous work has focused on an efficient mapping from a grid ceil, which is determined bY the interval number of each dimension, to a disk number on the assumption that each dimension is split into disjoint intervals such that entire data space is GRID-like partitioned. However, they have ignored the effects of a GRID partitioning scheme on declustering performance. In this paper, we enhance the performance of mapping function based declustering algorithms by applying a good GRID par-titioning method. For this, we propose an estimation model to count the number of grid cells intersected by a range query and apply a GRID partitioning scheme which minimizes query result size among the possible schemes. While it is common to do binary partition for high-dimensional data, we choose less number of dimensions than needed for binary partition and split several times along that dimensions so that we can reduce the number of grid cells touched by a query. Several experimental results show that the proposed estimation model gives accuracy within 0.5% error ratio regardless of query size and dimension. We can also improve the performance of declustering algorithm based on mapping function, called Kronecker Sequence, which has been known to be the best among the mapping functions for high-dimensional data, up to 23 times by applying an efficient GRID partitioning scheme.

We propose a frequency selective surface(FSS) using double split ring resonators(DSRRs) for isolation enhancement between CDMA and RFID. The structure consists of an outer SRR and an inner SRR, and the gaps are formed in the same direction. By properly adjusting the gap and line width, the resonant frequency and skirt characteristics can be adjusted without varying the unit cell size. The proposed structure has a different field distribution from that of an ordinary SRR for magneto-dielectric materials. One layer consists of $9{\times}9$ unit cells and the other layer was separated by 50 mm. To validate the simulation results, we fabricated the patch antenna and the FSSs, and the measured results show a good agreement with the simulated ones. The electrical size of the unit cell is $0.110\;{\lambda}{\times}0.110\;{\lambda}{\times}0.002\;{\lambda}$, and the size of the two layer FSS is $1.058\;{\lambda}{\times}1.058\;{\lambda}{\times}0.153\;{\lambda}$. The two layer FSS maintain gain in CDMA frequency and has 6.9 dB reduced gain in RFID frequency.

Multi-user MIMO (Multiple-Input Multiple-Output) systems require collaborative PF schedulers to improve the performance of the log sum of average transmission rates. While the performance of single cell based conventional PF schedulers has been evaluated over various channel conditions, scheduling algorithms by multiple base stations which select multiple users over a given time frame and their performance require further investigations. In this paper, we apply a collaborative PF scheduler to the distributed multi-user MIMO system, which assigns radio resources to multiple users by exchanging user channel information from base stations located in three adjacent sectors. We further evaluate its performance in terms of the log sum of average transmission rates. The performance is compared to that of the full-search collaborative PF scheduler which searches over all possible combinations of user groups, and that of a parallel PF scheduler that determines users without channel information exchange among base stations. We show the log sum of average transmission rates of the collaborative PF scheduler outperforms that of the parallel PF scheduler in low percentile region. In addition, the collaborative PF scheduler exhibits a negligible performance degradation when compared to the full-search collaborative PF scheduler while a significant reduction of the computational complexity is achievable at the same time.
The equilibrium solubilization capacity of the mixture of hydrocarbon oils by $C_{12}E_8$ nonionic surfactant micellar solution was measured at $23^{\circ}C$ by gas chromatography (GC) analysis. Experimental results indicated that the solubilization capacity for pure alkanes was found to decrease almost linearly with the alkane carbon number (ACN) of the hydrocarbon oil. For the binary mixture systems of the hydrocarbon oils both selective and nonselective solubilization behaviors were observed depending on the difference in ACN of the two hydrocarbon oils. Equilibrium solubilization tests for the hydrocarbon oil mixtures in $C_{12}E_8$ surfactant solutions such as the three n-octane/n-nonane, n-nonane/n-decane and n-decane/n-undecane mixture systems suggest almost non-selective solubilization. On the other hand, the n-octane/n-decane and n-octane/n-undecane systems, where difference in ACN of the two hydrocarbon oils is greater than 1, selective solubilization in favor of n-octane was conclusively demonstrated.

In this paper, coordinated space division multiple access(SDMA) technology is proposed to mitigate inter-cell interference by using partial channel state information in cooperative wireless communications system with limited feedback. Each AT selects an optimal cluster transmission mode and sends it back to a cluster scheduler, and at the cluster scheduler, ATs are scheduled within a AT group with the identical cluster transmission mode, and the optimal transmission mode and the corresponding scheduled ATs are determined to maximize scheduling priority. Also, in order to enhance multiuser diversity gain, an extended transmission feedback method is proposed to feed back multiple preferred cluster transmission modes at each AT. It is shown that the proposed coordinated SDMA scheme outperforms existing non-coordinated SDMA schemes in terms of the average system throughput.
