The Research for USN Applications of Parking Guidance and Information System (주차안내정보시스템의 USN기술 적용을 위한 연구)

  • Parking guidance and information systems have been introduced to response the inefficient and inconvenience use of parking facilities. While advanced countries have reached effective use of parking guidance information system, the Republic of Korea has yet suffered from the lack of full use of advanced technologies. This study proposes an algorithm designed for a systems utilizing the USN technologies. A field test was performed. The test results showed that information from the proposed system is much reliable when compared to the one from the existing.

  • Korea Superconducting Tokamak Advanced Research (KSTAR) 장치는 국내 유일의 초전도 자석을 이용한 핵융합 연구 장치로서 초고온의 플라즈마를 생성하여 차세대 에너지원인 핵융합 에너지를 획득하는 것을 목표로 두고 있다. 플라즈마를 생성부터 유지하기 위해서는 수소 동위원소를 토카막 내부로 공급해 주어야 하는데 이러한 수소동위원소를 "연료"라 부르며, 이 연료를 토카막 내부로 공급해 주는 시스템을 연료주입 시스템(Fueling System)이라고 한다. KSTAR에서는 토카막 내부로 고속의 연료 주입이 필요하고 정밀한 양의 연료를 공급하는 밸브를 사용하여야 하며, 이러한 밸브를 제어 할 수 있는 제어기를 필요로 한다. 위의 사항에 적합한 피에조 밸브(Piezoelectric Valve)는 2 msec 이내의 개폐시간과 500 Torr ${\ell}$/s 이상의 유량을 흘려줄 수 있는 피에조 밸브로 압전소자에 가해지는 전압(0~250 V)에 따라 변위의 양에 비례하여 연료가 진공용기 내로 유입된다. 압전소자의 변위는 최대 140 ${\mu}m$로 최적화되어 있어야 하며, 정전용량(Capacitance)는 30~40 nF이어야 한다. 또한 소자에 힘(Force)를 가해 최대 7 N으로 136 ${\mu}m$의 변위를 가진 소자를 사용해야 한다. 피에조 밸브의 특성으로는 아날로그 신호로 작동이 되어야 하며, 유량신호를 피드백하여 밸브의 구동 전압을 정밀하게 제어 되어야 한다. 피드백 제어를 위해 압력센서는 XCS-190 Series를 사용하여 낮은 유량에서도 민감하게 반응하도록 제작하였으며, 고전압이 유기 되었을 때 제어기를 보호하기 위한 정션박스를 설치하였다. 밸브 제어기는 피에조 밸브의 개방 속도를 높이기 위해 밸브 구동 전압을 순간적으로 높이는 POP 전압을 생성하는 기능과 유량 신호를 피드백해서 밸브 구동 전압을 정밀 제어 하는 기능을 가지고 있다. 제어장치는 아날로그 및 디지털 제어회로의 전원용 +15 V DC와 밸브 구동용 +250 V DC 출력용의 전원 공급 장치(Power supply unit), 펄스 및 트리거 신호를 생성하는 Master Programmer unit), Pop 전압과 피드백의 중요한 기능을 수행하는 Valve controller unit로 제작 되었다. 피에조 밸브와 제어기는 상호 작용하여 동작을 원활히 할 수 있도록 특성 실험을 진행하여야 하며, 진공상태에서 Lack의 유무를 확인하여야 한다. 현재 개발 제작된 밸브의 진공누설시험 및 특성실험을 진행하고 있으며, KSTAR 5차 캠페인에 적용할 계획이다.

  • This paper discusses the work-in-progress of a system to control a moving robot over the WWW(World Wide Web). That is, we describes the experimental results and control methods of system over the world wide web. The remote control of the system is controlled by accessing a simple form of interface that is connected to the server. For this application, a remote operator should have a general-purpose computer with Internet connection and a WWW browser to remotely operate the line-tracer through the Internet. As a remote operator summits an input by operating html files in the server, the program written in java is operated the equipment is being connected to the serial port. By being transmitted to the line-tracer through the infra-red sensor, the remote controlled signal is operated in distance. As a tool in order to identify the system's operation of the over the web is used the line-tracer.

  • This paper presents a vision-based real-time traffic surveillance system. Current research in machine vision applied to traffic is due to its potential for more powerful process, its flexibility and its lower cost. Our traffic surveillance system consists of FPA and TSM on the Internet. The FPA provides image data, vehicle speed and vehicle density for the TSM. Traffic parameters, the vehicle speed and density, are extracted over many frames using differences between the sampling points of a background image and those of incoming frames. The FPA works by just processing groups of pixels without any understanding of the image. Although this system has an accuracy limitation, it can be used in applications requiring an approximate vehicle density and vehicle speed in real-time.

Indoor Positioning Algorithm Combining Bluetooth Low Energy Plate with Pedestrian Dead Reckoning (BLE Beacon Plate 기법과 Pedestrian Dead Reckoning을 융합한 실내 측위 알고리즘)

  • As the demand for indoor location recognition system has been rapidly increased in accordance with the increasing use of smart devices and the increasing use of augmented reality, indoor positioning systems(IPS) using BLE (Bluetooth Lower Energy) beacons and UWB (Ultra Wide Band) have been developed. In this paper, a positioning plate is generated by using trilateration technique based on BLE Beacon and using RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator). The resultant value is used to calculate the PDR-based coordinates using the positioning element of the Inertial Measurement Unit sensor, We propose a precise indoor positioning algorithm that combines RSSI and PDR technique. Based on the plate algorithm proposed in this paper, the experiment have done at large scale indoor sports arena and airport, and the results were successfully verified by 65% accuracy improvement with average 2.2m error.

  • 본 연구에서 원추형 태양열 집광기의 흡수관 표면의 흑색 도색 여부에 따른 효율분석을 수행하였다. 원추형 집광기 시스템은 열 손실 최소화 및 집광비가 우수한 $45^{\circ}$의 원추각을 갖는 원추형 집광기를 설계 및 제작하였다. 원추형 태양열 집광시스템은 열매체 축열을 위한 온도센서가 내장된 축열조와 태양에너지를 집열시키는 원추형 집광기, 유량측정을 위한 유량계, 열매체의 강제순환을 위한 펌프로 구성되어있다. 또한 지속적인 태양추적을 위해 2축 태양 추적 장치를 설치하였다. 흡수관은 원추형 집광기의 중심부에 설비되었으며, 열매체의 순환을 위해 이중 열교환기 구조로 제작되었다. 흡수관의 길이는 열 손실을 최소화하기 위하여 집광기의 높이와 동일하게 설계하였다. 원추형 집광시스템의 작동유체인 물은 펌프에 의해 흡수관과 축열조를 강제순환 하게되고, 용량이 70L인 축열조에 흡수관으로부터 흡수된 태양 복사열이 저장된다. 원추형 집광시스템의 성능실험은 청명한 날 유량 2L/min, 4L/min, 6L/min에 대해 수행되었으며, 집열효율을 계산하여 비교 및 분석하였다. 흑색으로 도색된 흡수기를 부착한 원추형 집광시스템의 집열효율은 82.25%로 나타났으며, 무 도색 흡수관을 갖는 원추형 집광시스템은 73.26%의 집열효율을 나타내었다. 따라서 본 연구를 통해 흡수관 표면의 흑색 도색이 원추형 집광시스템의 집열효율에 큰 영향을 미친다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

Measurement and Proposed Design Specification of Temperature Distribution in the Concrete Pylon (콘크리트 주탑의 온도분포 계측 및 설계규정 제안)

  • This paper deals with monitoring and analysis of temperature measurement data in concrete pylon of long span cable bridges. During the construction of Geoga Bridge in Busan-Geoje Fixed Link Project, temperature sensors were installed in several sections of hollow box type concrete pylon and temperatures along the depth of the four sides of the section have been recorded along with ambient temperature. Effects of temperature distribution on the pylon are analysed using actual measured data and results are compared with the design guideline. It was found that the temperature load model for concrete girder can be applied to box type concrete pylon. Structural analysis of the pylon due to variation of temperature distribution during the construction is performed using 3D modelling and FE program and the maximum displacements of east-west and north-south side were calculated as 0.056m and 0.121m, respectively.

  • More than 70% of Korea consists of mountainous area and during the construction of roads and railroads many cut-slopes are inevitably formed. A number of environmental factors, such as the rainy season and frost heave during winter/thaw during spring, can result in rock falls and landslides. The failure of slopes is increasing every year and can cause damage to vehicles, personal injury and even fatality. In order to help protect people and property, there is a need for real-time monitoring systems to detect the early stages of slope failures. In this respect, the GMG has been using Translation Rotation Settlement (TRS) sensor units installed on slopes to monitor movement in real-time. However, the data lines of this system are vulnerable and the whole system can be damaged by a single lightning strike. In order to overcome this, GMG have proposed the use of Ubiquitous Sensor Networks (USN). The adoption of a USN system in lieu of data cables can help to minimize the risk of lightning damage and improve the reliability of slope monitoring systems.

  • Augmented reality is a field of computer research which deals with the combination of real-world and computer-generated data, where computer graphics objects are blended into real footage in real time and it has tremendous potential in visualizing geospatial information. However, to utilize augmented reality in mobile system, many researches have undergone with GPS or marker based approaches. Localization and tracking of current position become more complex problem when it is used in indoor environments. Many proposed RF based tracking and localization. However, it does cause deployment problems of large sensors and readers. In this paper, we present a noble markerless AR approach for indoor navigation system only using a camera. We will apply this work to mobile seamless indoor/outdoor u-GIS system.

Ground Vibration Test of KF- 16D (KF-16D 지상진동시험)

  • This paper discusses the test procedure, instrumentation, verification methodology and the results of the ground vibration test(GVT) performed on the KF-16D aircraft to estimate experimentally dynamic characteristics of the aircraft. The modal tests for 7 external store configurations were conducted to estimate effects of external stores on the aircraft vibration modes. To emulate free-free boundary conditions the test aircraft was mounted on its landing gear structure with deflated tires during the GVT. The airframe modal tests were done by burst random excitations with 6 to 8 shakers and about 200 accelerometers. Frequency response functions(FRFs) were measured for each test, and the FRFs were reduced and analyzed to identify the dynamic parameters interested. The analyses were carried out in two steps. To extract modal parameters such as, frequencies and damping ratios, the poly-reference least square complex exponential method was used in the time domain. The mode shape coefficients were estimated with the least squares frequency domain method to identify the vibration modes.
