The Effect of Temperature Variations and Bonding Agents on Piezoelectric Sensor Diagnostics (온도 변화에 따른 압전체 센서 자가진단법 및 접합제의 영향에 대한 실험적 고찰)

  • The sensor/actuator active sensor diagnostics procedure, where the sensors/actuators are confirmed to be functioning properly during operation, is a critical component to successfully complete the structural health monitoring (SHM) process with large numbers of active sensors typically installed in a structure. The basis of this process is to track the changes in the capacitive value of piezoelectric materials, which shows up in measured admittance. Due to the temperature dependent nature of piezoelectric materials, we investigated the effects of temperature variations on sensor diagnostic process. The effect of temperature variations found to be remarkable, modifying the measured capacitive values significantly. In addition we analyzed the effect of bonding agents between a PZT patch and a host structure. This paper summarizes considerations needed to develop such sensor diagnostic processes, experimental procedures and results, and additional issues that can be used as guidelines for future investigations.

  • This paper reviews studies on the types and functions of oil sensors used for machine condition monitoring. Machine condition monitoring is essential for maintaining the reliability of machines and can help avoid catastrophic failures while ensuring the safety and longevity of operation. Machine condition monitoring involves several components, such as compliance monitoring, structural monitoring, thermography, non-destructive testing, and noise and vibration monitoring. Real-time monitoring with oil analysis is also utilized in various industries, such as manufacturing, aerospace, and power plants. The three main methods of oil analysis are off-line, in-line, and on-line techniques. The on-line method is the most popular among these three because it reduces human error during oil sampling, prevents incipient machine failure, reduces the total maintenance cost, and does not need complicated setup or skilled analysts. This method has two advantages over the other two monitoring methods. First, fault conditions can be noticed at the early stages via detection of wear particles using wear particle sensors; therefore, it provides early warning in the failure process. Second, it is convenient and effective for diagnosing data regardless of the measurement time. Real-time condition monitoring with oil analysis uses various oil sensors to diagnose the machine and oil statuses; further, integrated oil sensors can be used to measure several properties simultaneously.

  • The disease diagnosis system has been developed using the thin nitride(Si3N4) cantilever arrays which can measure the difference of capacitances between sensor and reference. The system consists of 32-bits RISC(Reduced Instruction Set Computer), RAM/Flash, bus, communication IP's, ADC(Analog Digital Converter) board, and LCD display. The marker selection method, which give us the good accuracy from reasonal numbers of markers, is suggested. The developed system has the resolution under 1fF and can detect 10nM concentration of Thrombin.

  • In this paper, we designed an intelligent fault detection and isolation algorithm for improving reliability of turbojet engine controller. The proposed method uses multilayer neural network to detect and accommodate sensor failure from the functional relationship of dissimilar sensors. Signals of failure sensors are estimated from neural network trained by backpropagation algorithm. Simulation results on the state-space model of a turbojet engine illustrate that the proposed algorithm achieves the desired performance.

  • This paper presents a diagnosis teclmique using ultrasonic sensors for monitoring the growth of partial discharge in power transformers. This teclmique counts the ultrasonic pulses generated from partial discharge over a threshold leveL In experiments, a ultrasonic generator and the point to plane electrodes generated ultrasonic pulses. With a constant voltage between the electrodes, the ultrasonic pulses over a threshold were a fairly constant. When the voltage increased or insulation paper was inserted between the electrodes, the partial discharge increased. In this case the number of ultrasonic pulses also increased and therefore the proposed teclmiques successfully diagnosed the growth of partial discharge.

  • Ths paper does acoustic detection of partial discharge using acoustic sensor in polymer. Time sequential rreasurement of acoustic emission characteristic obtained acoustic sensor deal with statistics process. and 5 characteristic quantities were introduced into this paper. Resulting fann analysis of $\psi$-AEA-n pattern (phase-acoustic emission amplitude-pulse number) and AE quantities ,it can know useful statistics quantities that AE average inception amplitude TEX>$(\overline{AEA_{inc}})$ and AE average maximum amplitude TEX>$(\overline{AEA_{max}})$ make diagnosis of the middle stage of deterioration, AE pulse number and AE average maximum phase $(\overline{\theta{max}})$ make diagnosis of the last stage of deterioration. it obtained that these AE quantities are useful for dias,mosis deterioration form experiment results.esults.

  • 무선 센서 네트워크는 최근 대두되고 있는 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅의 연구에 힘입어, 광범위하게 설치되어 있는 유무선 네트워크 인프라에 상황인지를 위한 다양한 센서 디바이스를 결합하여 감지된 환경 데이터를 응용서비스와 연동하는 기술이다. 기본적으로 홈/빌딩 시큐리티, 사회기반 안전시설, 기계의 고장 진단, 의료 분야 등의 실세계의 다양한 분야에 응용될 수 있다. 본 논문에서 다루고자하는 실종 아동에 대한 문제는 어제 오늘의 이야기가 아니다. 미아 발생률은 꾸준히 증가하고 있으며 장기 미아의 발생 역시 증가하고 있다. 따라서 미아 방지를 위해 새로운 서비스들이 소개되었으나 이용자의 경제적 비용 부담 증가와 같은 문제점을 안고 있다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 미아 찾기 시스템은 무선 센서 네트워크 기술 응용 중의 하나로서 미아가 발생 시에 아동이 장기 미아가 되지 않도록 효율적이면서도 빠르게 미아를 찾을 수 있도록 하기 위해서 개발되었다. RFID 리더기가 장착된 고정형 센서 노드와 이동형 센서노드가 RFID 태그를 지닌 아동의 정보를 얻어서 중앙 제어 서버로 데이터를 넘기면 태그 정보와 전송한 센서 노드의 위치, 전송 시간을 바탕으로 아동의 위치를 파악할 수가 있다. 미아 찾기 시스템은 이용자가 태그만을 지니면 되기 때문에 경제적 부담은 줄어 들 수 있다. 또한 상기 시스템으로 미아 찾기만이 아니라 주변 환경 감시등의 여러 응용에도 적용 시킬 수가 있다.

  • 운전 중인 회전기기에서 고정자 권선의 절연 상태는 부분방전시험을 통해 검사, 평가할 수 있고 이를 통하여 사고예방을 위한 진단을 할 수 있다. 기존 센서인 SSC(Stator Slot Coupler)는 비접촉식으로 권선의 웨지 아래에 설치하므로 설치하기가 불편하고 Global VPI 방식으로 제작된 소형 회전기에는 사용할 수 없는 단점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 소형 회전기에 사용 가능한 저, 고주파용 부분방전 센서를 제안하였다. 웨지 위에 설치 가능한 SSC 형태의 마이크로스트립 센서 및 2선 평행 전송선로 센서는 고주파에 적합하고 저렴하며 소형 회전 기에 설치 가능하다. 센서의 성능을 검증하기 위해 3차원 해석 프로그램을 사용하여 좋은 전자파 검출 성능을 도출할 수 있었다. 또한 저주파용으로 제안된 U 타입 센서는 유도전류를 검출하는 센서로서 슬롯 외부에 설치되어야 하고 시간차분 수치해석을 이용해서 저주파에서 효과적으로 방전 펄스를 검출함을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • In this paper, an Inter-Digital Transducer (IDT) type Lamb wave sensor is proposed to estimate the geometry and number of cracks on a plate structure, and its validity is checked through experiments. This IDT type sensor is more readily controllable than conventional patch type piezoelectric sensors to modify its operation frequency and directionality by altering its finger patterns. In this work, omni-directional annular IDT and highly directional rectangular IDT sensors are designed and fabricated. The IDT sensors are used to diagnose the length, number and orientation of cracks on an aluminum plate by measuring the amplitude and time of flight of Lamb waves. The results are analyzed to discuss the efficacy of the IDT sensors.

  • Focusing on the bridge facilities, which occupy the largest proportion among SOC public facilities in Korea, it is possible to reduce the cost compared to existing wired measurement systems or wireless measurement systems developed by domestic telecommunications companies, and to increase the technical perfection to be applied to many bridges. We developed a wireless measurement system for bridges. Using LoRa, one of the unlicensed LPWAN technologies, we have developed an optimized MEMS-based LoRa smart sensor node considering the domestic ISM band and the existing wired sensor LoRa DAQ sensor node that can communicate with the LoRa network. Application server was developed for the test bed performance verification and efficient management of the developed sensor node.
