A Study on Determinants of the Elderly's Self-employment Exits - Focusing on why they exit from their owned business (중고령층 자영업 이탈 요인 분석: 자영업 이탈 이유를 중심으로)

  • This study analyzed the determinants of self-employment exits among the middle-aged and senior adults. For the analysis, we used KLoSA(Korean Longitudinal Study of Ageing) data from the first(2006) to the sixth(2016) and vocational data, which is a retrospective data surveyed in 2007. Among the reasons for exiting the self-employment, we find that the group that went out of their businesses due to management difficulties were more likely to have economic difficulties after the exit. Therefore, we analyzed the determinants of self-employment exits considering the exit reason due to management difficulties. The analysis model used a competing risk regression model that defined the only exit due to management difficulties as failures. As a result, the significance of gender, age, and education variables, which were well known as determinants of exiting the self-employment, disappeared. On the other hand, we find that the prior experience in the same industry tended to lower the risk of exiting the self-employment. To summarize the results, we suggest that we need some ways to help the middle-aged and senior adults who start their own businesses without any experience in the same industry to prevent them from failures.

Synthesis of Pd-decorated SiO2 layers with superhydrophobic and oleophilic micro-nano hierarchical (초소수성 및 친유성을 갖는 마이크로-나노 계층구조의 Pd 금속입자 기능화된 SiO2층 합성)

  • 본 연구에서는 $SiO_2$ 미세구조 상에 Pd 나노입자(NPs)를 증착하여, 불소화된 마이크로-나노 계층구조를 갖는 Pd-decorated $SiO_2$($Pd/SiO_2$)를 제작하였다. 마이크로 크기의 거칠기를 갖는 $SiO_2$ 층은 졸-겔 공정을 사용해서 제조된 용액을 전기분사함으로써 제조되었다. 이어서, 자외선(UV)을 이용한 광 환원법을 이용해 Pd 나노입자를 $SiO_2$ 층에 형성했다. 생성된 표면은 마이크로-나노의 계층구조 형태를 보여주었다. 해당 시편의 불소화 처리 후, 마이크로-나노의 계층구조 표면은 $170^{\circ}$ 이상의 물 접촉각(water contact angle; WCA) 및 $5^{\circ}$ 이하의 슬라이딩 각(sliding angle)을 보여줌으로써 물에 대해 탁월한 소수성을 나타내었다. 또한, 커피($CA=161^{\circ}$), 우유($CA=162^{\circ}$), 쥬스($CA=163^{\circ}$), 그리고 글리세롤($CA=165^{\circ}$)에 대해서도 우수한 소수 특성을 보여주었다. 또한, 이들 $Pd/SiO_2$ 층은 우수한 장기내구성 및 자외선 저항성을 보여주었다. 그리고 이어진 기름에 대한 접촉각 측정을 통해 해당 시편이 소유 특성이 아닌 친유 특성을 보여준다는 것을 확인할 수 있었고, 기름에 대한 CA는 약 ${\sim}10^{\circ}$로 매우 우수한 친유 특성을 나타내었다. 이와 같은 결과는 자체세정이 가능한 표면 및 지능형 물/기름 분리 시스템과 같은 스마트 장치에서 초소수성-친유성 특성을 갖는 계층구조의 $Pd/SiO_2$ 층을 사용할 가능성을 명확하게 보여준다고 판단된다.

  • To investigate the spermiogenesis of the Saghalien Pygmy shrew (Sorex minutus gracillimus), the testis obtained from mature male shrew was studied by electron microscopy, and the following results obtained based on the morphological characteristics of cell differentiation of the seminiferous epithelium in the testis. According to the fine structural differentiation, spermiogenesis of S. minutus gracillimks was divided into Golgi, cap, acrosome, maturation and spermiation phases. Beside, the Golgi and cap phases were subdivided into three steps of early, middle and late phase respectively, and acrosome phase into two steps of early and late phase , and maturation and spermiation phases has only one step respectively. Thus, the spermiogenesis of S. minutus gracillimus was divided into a total of ten steps. The chromatin granules begin to be condensed in the acrosome phase, and a perfect nucleus of sperm was formed at the spermiation phase. Mancette were appeared from the late acrosome phase to the maturation phase. The formation of sperm tail began to develop in the late Golgi phase, and completed at the spermiation phase. Multivesicular bodies were appeared from the Golgi phase to the maturation phase, recognized with pale, pale and moderate, and dense at Golgi, cap and acrosomal and matulation phases respectively.

증착조건에 따른 $ZrO_2$ 게이트 유전막의 특성

  • 반도체 소자가 미세화 됨에 따라 게이트 유전막으로 사용되는 SiO2의 박막화가 요구되나, boron penetration에 의한 Vt shift, 게이트 누설전류, 다결정 실리콘 게이트의 depletion effect 그리고 quantum mechanical effect 때문에 ~20 급에서 한계를 나타내고 있다. 이에 0.1$\mu\textrm{m}$이상의 design rule을 갖는 logic이나 memory 소자에서 요구되어지는 ~10 급 게이트 산화막은 SiO2(K=3.9)를 대신하여 고유전율을 갖는 재료의 채택이 필수 불가결하게 되었다. 고유전 박막 재료를 사용하면, 두께를 두껍게 해도 동일한 inversion 특성이 유지되고 carrier tunneling 이 덜하여 등가 산화막의 두께를 줄일 수 있다. 이러한 고유전박막 재료중 가장 활발히 연구되고 있는 재료는 Ta2O5, Al2O3, STO 그리고 BST 등이 있으나 Ta2O5, STO, BST 등은 실리콘 기판과 직접 반응을 한다는 문제를 가지고 있으며, Al2O3는 유전율이 낮의 재료가 최근 주목받고 있다. 본 실험에서는 ZrO2, HfO2 또는 그 silicates 등의 재료가 최근 주목 받고 있다. 본 실험에서는 ZrO2 박막의 증착조건에 따른 물리적, 전기적 특성 변화에 대하여 연구하였다. RCA 방식으로 세정한 P-type (100) 실리콘 기판위에 reactive DC sputtering 방법으로 압력 5mtorr, power 100~400W, 기판온도는 100-50$0^{\circ}C$로 변화시켜 ZrO2 박막을 증착한 후 산소와 아르곤 분위기에서 400-80$0^{\circ}C$, 10-120min으로 열처리하였다. 증착직후의 시편들과 열처리한 ZrO2 박막의 미세구조와 전기적 특성 변화를 관찰하였다. 우선 굴절율(RI)를 이용해 ZrO2 박막의 밀도를 예측하여 power와 기판온도에 따라 이론값 2.0-2.2 에 근접한 구조를 얻은 후 XRD, XPS, AFM, 그리고 TEM을 사용하여 ZrO2 박막의 chemical bonding, surface roughness 그리고 interfacial layer의 특성을 관찰하였다. 그리고 C-V, I-V measurement를 이용해 capacitance, 유전율, 누설전류 등의 전기적 특성을 관찰해 최적 조건을 설정하였다.

  • Membrane separation process is considered as an alternative of conventional water purification system using coagulationㆍsedimentation+sand filtration. In this study, it was examined that the application possibility of Hollowfiber Microfiltration membrane for water purification process. A $20m^3/day$ scale pilot plant was used for studying the possibility of long-term operation and the stability of water quality under the optimum conditions, 0.03m/h permeate flux, filtration for 10 minutes, pause for 2 minutes(including air-scrubbing for 30 seconds), obtained by lab-scale experiment. As a result, it was proved stability of pilot plant over one year and filtrate quality(Turbidity. SS etc). Therefore, it was proved that membrane separation process using Hollowfiber Microfiltration membrane can be applied for water purification system

Effect of Herbal Extract on Nicotine Degradation (천연식물 추출물에 대한 니코틴의 분해효과)

  • To develop a nicotine-degrading material (NDM), the natural herbal extract was studied. For the in vitro verification, the herbal extract was mixed into the dilute nicotine solution and the ability of NDM to degrade nicotine into cotinine was measured spectrophotometically. In the in vivo study, the rats in experimental and control groups were orally fed with the herbal extract and water, respectively, for 2 weeks. And then, 3 ㎎/㎏ nicotine was administered to both groups by intraperitoneal injection. In results, the ability of NDM to degrade nicotine into cotinine was shown 2.5 fold higher after 90 min reaction in comparison with the control group. In addition, a decrease of 33% in nicotine concentration and a increase of 57% in cotinine concentration were shown in rat blood. Therefore, NDM was shown to be effective in the conversion of nicotine into cotinine.

  • In order to study the process of spermiogenesis of the korean striped field mouse Apodemus agrorfus coreae, the cell differentiation of seminiferous epithelium and morphological features of mature sperm in cauda epididymis was examined and the results are as follows: Spermiogenesis was divided, according to the features of cell structure; Golgi, cap, acrosome and spermiation phases were further subdivided into two steps of early and late phases respectively, and maturation phase has only one step. Hence, the spermiogenesis consists of nine phases. in the changes of the chromatin in nucleus, the chromatin granules began to be condensed in the cap phase and the condensation proceeded to form a globular of nucleus at the acrsome phase. Finally, the chromatin regularization was completed and perfect nucleus of sperm was formed at the maturation phase. Sperm head had the falciform, and the outer dence fibers of middle piece were arranged in a horseshoe fashion. The outer dence fiber number 1, 5, 6 and 9 was larger than other fiber number 2, 3, 4, 7, 8.

  • Foreign body aspiration (FBA) is a common accident in young children. Undiagnosed and retained foreign bodies may result in severe early and late complications such as asphyxia, pneumonia, atelectasis and bronchiectasis. Moreover, because it can mimic bronchiolitis, croup or asthma, an accurate history and a high index of suspicion are of paramount importance for early diagnosis. With our experience on bronchial FBA initially misdiagnosed as acute bronchiolitis, we emphasize that a minute radiological finding should not be neglected and a repeat chest radiograph may be helpful when the initial study shows normal findings. Multidetector computed tomography is a very useful noninvasive diagnostic modality for FBA.

Disassembly and Reconstruction of Stone Pagoda Using 3-Dimensional Image Analysis : Case Study in Simgoksa Seven-storied Stone Pagoda (3차원 영상분석을 활용한 석탑의 해체와 재조립 : 심곡사칠층석탑 사례 연구)

  • This research was a technical case study for the authentic restoration of the seven-storied Simgoksa stone pagoda after disassembly and reconstruction using three-dimensional image analysis. During disassembly and reconstruction, the pagoda's properties were analyzed in terms of the overall modification and displacement of the pagoda. Distortion was minimized by ensuring structural stability during the reconstruction process. Also, the original site of the pagoda was examined in order to utilize it fully during rebuilding. Before reconstruction of the pagoda, moss and lichen on the stone surfaces were removed by scientific surface cleaning. The foundation of the pagoda was reinforced with rammed earth than was similar to the original foundation using a mixture of soil and quicklime. The results are expected to provide valuable data for the reconstruction of other stone pagodas.

Comparative Study on Subgingival Irrigation Using Some Oral Mouth Rinses on Early Healing Process of Periodontal Inflammation (수 종의 구강세정제에 의한 치은연하 세정이 치주염 초기치유에 미치는 영향에 관한 비교 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the comparative effects of subgingival irrigation using some oral mouth rinses on early healing process of periodontal inflammation. The study population consisted of 13 patients with periodontal inflammation and distributed into 4 groups. Oral hygiene instruction, delicate scaling and root planing were done and then irrigated per 3 days during 2 weeks in situ with 1 of 4 solutions ; normal saline, C31G, Benzotonium chloride and tetracycline. Examination regarding probing pocket depth, plaque index, sulcular bleeding index, gingival index, gingival recession and leukocytes differential count was performed. Evaluation was made at the baseline and 2 weeks after non-surgical periodontal therapy. The results were as follows : 1. Clinical indices including probing pocket depth, plaque index, sulcular bleeding index, gingival index and gingival recession were significantly improved from baseline to 2 weeks. But there was no significant differences among 4 groups. 2. PMNs percent on leukocytes differential count was significantly decreased from baseline to 2 weeks on all groups. Those of tetracycline and C31G were significantly decreased than those of normal saline group. These results suggest that clinical indices were not different, but the decrease of inflammation were significantly different among some mouth rinses.
