Experience of Poverty Exit across Generations (빈곤의 세대간 탈피 경험)

  • The main purpose of this paper is to understand the process of the poverty exit across generations through the live experience based on the grounded theory analysis of the in-depth interview. We find that poverty means a lack of achievement and freedom of agency that is a level of control about resource and situation. So exit of poverty across generations is the state that is not only to achieve functioning but also to recover capabilities. Based on this result, central phenomena of the intergenerational exit process of poverty are support from relation and continuous transition at each stage in life. Even if this central phenomenon is an important event, it has the incomplete attribute. Because support from relation is beyond individual scope of control and participants can't escape second labor market as they don't have enough time in the process of transition. Therefore, this paper suggests that the expansion of state welfare and strategy should support transition as policy priorities to minimize limitation of relation and risk of income loss.

Research on the Relationship between the Service Quality and Customer Loyalty of the Hair Beauty Industry for the Silver Generation : With a Focus on Relationship Quality (실버세대 헤어 미용업의 서비스품질과 고객충성도에 대한 관계성 연구: 관계품질을 중심으로)

  • The silver generation in our aging society will rapidly emergeas a new consumer group and the service industry used by silver customers will develop going forward. The beauty service sector is one of the most needed ones for the qualitative improvement of life for the silver generation. In this research, ananalysis was conducted on 244 persons of the silver generation living in Seoul, in order to examine the factors affecting the quality of the beauty service for the silver generation and their relationships with customer loyalty. For the statistical treatment of the empirical analysis, the SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 23.0 statistical programs were used. The results of the analysis showed that the service quality perceived by the silver customers who used the beauty service had significant effects on trust and flow, which are the relationship qualities, and that trust and flow had positive effects on customer loyalty. Also, it was found that, in the relationship between service quality and customer loyalty, trust had mediating effects on reliability, responsiveness, empathy, and assurance, and that flow had mediating effects on reliability, responsiveness, empathy, assurance, and tangibility. The results of this research are significant in that they present the basic data enabling the beauty industry to play an important role for the silver generation, under the present circumstances in which the beauty service industry has minimal educational programs exclusively available for the silver generation.

A Study on the Features of the Next Generation Search Services (차세대 검색서비스의 속성에 관한 연구)

  • Recently in the area of the information environment, there are lively discussions about search 2.0 which is representative of the next generation search services. In this study, we divide information search model into matching and linking models according the developmental stages. Therefore, on the one hand, we analyze the background, main concepts, related attributes and cases of the next generation search services and the other, we identify the representative keywords by the group analysis of various attributes and cases of it. The result shows that the main keywords such as social search, artificial intelligence and semantic search, and relation/network based search are representative of the search 2.0.

A Study on the Effect of IT Service Quality on User Satisfaction and Customer Loyalty: Focusing on the Perception Difference between the MZ Generation and the Existing Generation (IT서비스품질이 사용자만족과 고객충성도에 미치는 영향: MZ세대와 기성세대간 인식차이를 중심으로)

  • Globally, the baby boomer generation is economically retired, and the MZ generation is emerging as a new economic force. This study demonstrated the effect of service quality on user satisfaction and customer loyalty for IT services, and checked whether it had a moderating effect on the MZ generation's perception of service quality and its effect on user satisfaction. In addition, we tried to find implications for service satisfaction of the MZ generation. For this purpose, valid responses were obtained from 496 members of companies receiving IT services from Company A. then, a hierarchical regression analysis were performed to verify the hypothesis. As a result of the analysis, the influence relationship between service quality, user satisfaction, and customer loyalty was confirmed, similar to the results of previous studies, and it was confirmed that the negative moderating effect of lower perception of user satisfaction through interaction. Therefore, it can be suggested that there is a need to develop a new digital-based service that can share and sympathize with special experiences, consumption values and beliefs. In the future, if research is conducted on a variety of consumers, it will be possible to more accurately explore the service perception of the MZ generation.

The impact of self-esteem and unstable adult attachment on Compensatory consumption behavior among Millennials (밀레니얼세대의 자아존중감과 불안정 성인애착이 보상소비행동에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of the study is to examine the impact of self-esteem and unstable adult attachment on compensatory consumption among millennials. The survey was conducted on millennials (19~34) in June, 2018. The results revealed the static relationship between self-esteem and compliment-type compensatory consumption, while the relationship of self-esteem with consolation-type compensation consumption become insignificant when unstable adult attachment was controlled. Unstable adult attachment(anxiety/avoidance) showed significant impace on both compliment-type and consolation-type compensatory consumption. The research findings imply that compensatory consumption behaviors can be explained with psychological and relational factors among consumers in their early adulthood.

  • 세대간 통합 프로그램은 1980년대 이래로 외국 사회노년학 분야뿐만 아니라 아동학분야에서 점차 관심이 높아지는 주제이다. 이러한 프로그램은 양 세대간의 올바른 이해를 통하여 긍정적인 관계향상을 도모한다는 분명한 목표를 갖는다 일반적으로 아동은 노인에 대하여 매우 부정적인 태도를 가지며, 노화과정에 대하여도 두려움을 느낀다고 보고되고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 세대간 통합 프로그램이 아동의 노인인식에 영향을 미치는지를 조사하고자 하였다.

Study on the Effect of Individual and Job-Level Satisfaction by Generation on Turnover Intention : Focusing on the Mediating Effect of Workplace Satisfaction (세대별 개인·직무차원 만족이 이직의사에 미치는 영향 - 직장(일자리) 만족의 매개효과를 중심으로 -)

  • Turnover is an important topic in the labor market, and recently, while various generations work together, it is difficult to manage the organization due to friction between generations. The purpose of this study is to analyze the mediating role of workplace satisfaction in the relationship between personal-level variables (future prospects, life satisfaction) and job-level variables (major-job level, job satisfaction) by generation on intention to leave. To this end, the 22nd Korea Labor Panel Survey was used to select related variables, and the mediating effect was analyzed using SPSS. The main results are as follows. First, it was found that workplace satisfaction plays a complete mediating role in the relationship where individual-level variables affect turnover intention. Second, it was found that workplace satisfaction plays a partial mediating role in the relationship where job-level variables affect turnover intention. Third, in Generation Z, unlike other generations, only the variable of workplace satisfaction at the job level had a significant effect on intention to leave, and workplace satisfaction was found to play a partial mediating role.

Intergenerational contact and work meaning: The mediating effect of knowledge sharing and the moderating effect of age (세대 간 소통과 일의 의미: 지식공유행동의 매개효과와 나이의 조절효과)

  • This study aimed to examine the influence of intergenerational contact on work meaning through knowledge sharing. Additionally, based on the socioemotional selectivity theory, this study investigated whether age moderates the mediating path. We collected data from 588 full-time employees in South Korea, and analyzed the data using the latent moderated structural equation method. The results showed that knowledge sharing fully mediated the relationship between intergenerational contact and work meaning. Furthermore, age was found to moderate the relationship between intergenerational contact and work meaning via knowledge sharing. Particularly, the mediation effect was strengthened as age increased. This study holds a significant theoretical value by shedding light on the specific mechanisms underlying knowledge sharing. Moreover, the results suggest the potential for enhancing the impact of coaching programs by tailoring them to individual characteristics.

Future Scenarios Regarding Domestic Labor and Caregiving by the Baby Boomer Generation in the Age of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4차 산업혁명 시대, 베이비부머 세대의 가사노동과 돌봄의 미래 시나리오 - 시나리오 플래닝 기법 활용을 중심으로 -)

  • This study forecasts the outlook 10 years from now regarding domestic labor and caregiving by the Baby Boomer generation and the preparations needed in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The scenario-planning method was used to explore changing trends in domestic labor and caregiving, the rationale for which has been questioned by both seniors and family welfare experts. Based on the results of the survey and our researchers' opinions, it was concluded that the changing trends were caused by two factors: the probability of alterations in domestic labor and the strength of family relationships. On the basis of these conclusions, four scenarios regarding baby boomers' domestic labor and caregiving in 10 years were proposed using two axes: the "high and low probability of alterations" and the "strengthening and weakening of family relationships." The first scenario is a "preference for the self-caring form of family," which has a high probability of domestic labor alterations and weak family relationships. The second scenario is a "preference for the flexible form of family," which has a high probability of domestic labor alterations and strong family relationships. The third scenario is a "preference for the traditional form of family," which has a low probability of domestic labor alterations and strong family relationships. The fourth scenario is a "preference for the public caregiving form of family," which has a low probability of domestic labor alterations and weak family relationships. These results provide basic information about the various aspects of baby boomers' lives-including the development of various goods and services, the establishment of policies regarding seniors, and programs for successful aging-and can help equip our society to take the actions needed for a super-aged population.
