Consumers' preference about the attributes of 3rd generation device (3세대 디바이스의 속성별 소비자 선호 분석)

  • Third-generation (3G) devicesare next-generation devices that allow the use of intelligent services and applications through the Internet of Things (IoT). As the market forexisting smart devices like smartphones and tablet PCs enters the stage of stagnation, the world is now focusing on 3G devices, parts, and services. This study is intended to measure the user's benefits from the various attributes of 3G devices by applying an economic valuation method. For this purpose, the conjoint analysis method was applied, which is one of the representative valuation methods. To apply conjoint analysis, the following attributes of 3G devicesare considered: mode of use, power efficiency, life care, and price. By applying the mixed logit model, the marginal willingness-to-pay(WTP) for each attribute was derived. The results are statistically significant. Respondents showed a high preference or complete flexibility in the mode of use attribute. And they were also found to have WTP for improvements in the life care attribute. The implications and quantitative results of this study are expected to be useful for policies and strategies in the 3G device market.

Exploring user experience factors through generational online review analysis of AI speakers (인공지능 스피커의 세대별 온라인 리뷰 분석을 통한 사용자 경험 요인 탐색)

  • The AI speaker market is growing steadily. However, the satisfaction of actual users is only 42%. Therefore, in this paper, we collected reviews on Amazon Echo Dot 3rd and 4th generation models to analyze what hinders the user experience through the topic changes and emotional changes of each generation of AI speakers. By using topic modeling analysis techniques, we found changes in topics and topics that make up reviews for each generation, and examined how user sentiment on topics changed according to generation through deep learning-based sentiment analysis. As a result of topic modeling, five topics were derived for each generation. In the case of the 3rd generation, the topic representing general features of the speaker acted as a positive factor for the product, while user convenience features acted as negative factor. Conversely, in the 4th generation, general features were negatively, and convenience features were positively derived. This analysis is significant in that it can present analysis results that take into account not only lexical features but also contextual features of the entire sentence in terms of methodology.

Segmenting Korean Millennial Consumers of Sharing Economy Services on Social Networking: A Psychographic-based Approach (소셜 네트워크 기반 공유경제 서비스에 관한 밀레니얼스 소비자 세분화 연구: 사이코그래픽 관점에서)

  • The purpose of this qualitative study is to explore consumer behavioral trends, psychological characteristics and various cognitive types of Millennial Generation consumers, primarily in their 20s, who are familiar with sharing economy services based on the emerging social networking technology. Using Q methodology, this paper theoretically defines four and interprets via a social science perspective four different types of these young consumers who are skilled at state-of-the-art ICT equipment, devices or online networking services. Sharing economy services in Korea's academic and industrial services are influenced by government policy, and related research is relatively new. This study is focused on discovering unique psychographic characteristics called 'schemata' that include personal interest, preference, attitude, and opinion. On the basis of 40 Q-sorted data samples, the analysis examined 180 collected statements from meta-studies and interviews with 35 individuals born between 1997 and 1992. As a result, four consumer groups were identifies: Type 1 'Early majority', Type 2 'Laggard', Type 3 'Opinion leader', and Type 4 'Late majority'. The results of this research can be used to explore to study in greater detail the behavior and psychological aspects of Millennial General consumers'.

The Vitalization of Older Adult Education and Rawl's Justice Theory (노년교육 활성화를 위한 정의론적 탐색: J. Rawls의 정의론을 중심으로)

  • Based on Rawl's Justice Theory, the author examines the rationales for educating older adults and advocates for their needs for just distributions of educational resources and opportunities. The author also seeks policy implications for establishing just educational systems for older citizens. On the basis of Rawl's Justice Theory, the essential principles for realizing social justice are presented. The author points out the Veil of Ignorance and Rational Indifference. As the practical methods for achieving social justice, the author presents Exclusion of Coincidence, Difference Principle, Democratic Equality, and Common Asset. Implications for establishing just education systems for older adults include: 1) The least advantaged groups such as older adults, females, and the disabled should not be discriminated in the distribution of educational resources; 2) People with higher capacities are obliged to serve less capable people; and 3) Older adults should mobilize all resources to empower themselves and to develop their potentials. The author concludes that Rawl's Justice Theory can be tapped into as a useful ideological framework in order to expand educational resources and opportunities for older adults.

Types of Survival Attitudes among First-Generation Korean Immigrants in the United States: Q-Methodological Approach (미국이민 한국인 1세대의 생존 태도 유형 - Q 방법론적 접근 -)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the subjective opinions of first-generation Korean-Americans about survival. Methods: The Q-methodology which provides a method of analyzing the subjectivity of each item was used. The 34 selected Q-statements from each of 38 subjects were classified into a shape of normal distribution using a 9 point scale. The collected data was analyzed using a QUANL/WIN program. Results: Four types of survival attitudes from 38 first-generation Korean-Americans were identified. Type I was a satisfaction type based on belief, Type II was an effort type based on purpose, Type III was an isolation type based on ethnicity, and Type IV was a compromise type based on adaptation. Results of this study indicate that approaches to a minority's survival strategies need to be differentiated taking this typology and various subject characteristics into account. Conclusion: This information may provide a basic understanding for healthcare providers who work with first-generation Korean-Americans.

  • 고 해상도를 요구하는 차세대 디스플레이에서 ITO 박막은 매우 얇은 두께에서 높은 투과율과 고 전도성을 동시에 가져야 한다. 이러한 박막 물성을 함께 가지는 고품질 ITO 초박막을 제조하기 위해서 DC와 RF의 장점을 동시에 가지는 DC/RF 중첩형 마그네트론 스퍼터링법을 이용하여 다양한 $SnO_2$ 함량을 가진 ITO 초박막(~50 nm)을 증착하여 물성 및 미세 구조 변화를 관찰 하였다. 또한, 상온과 결정화 온도 이상에서 증착한 ITO 초박막의 $SnO_2$ 함량에 따른 박막의 전기적, 광학적 거동 및 미세구조의 변화를 확인하는 동시에, RF/(DC+RF) 중첩 비율에 따른 ITO 초박막의 물성 변화를 확인 하였다.

  • 이 논문에서는 사람 얼굴 표정을 인식하기 위한 여러 가지 방법론들을 비교분석하였다. 사람얼굴표정을 인식할 때 특징 추출 방법에는 크게 AAM(Active Appearance Model) 기반 방법과 비 AAM 기반 방법이 있었다. 추출된 특징에 대한 학습 및 인식에도 신경망, SVM(Support Vector Machine), 사후확률, 기타 변형 알고리즘을 이용하는 경우가 많았다. 인식되는 표정에는 크게 행복, 분노, 슬픔, 놀람에 대한 표정 인식이 주를 이루었고 추가적으로 역겨움, 두려움, 졸음, 윙크까지도 인식하려는 시도가 있었으나 인식률이 그다지 높지 않았다. 또한 현재 나와 있는 표정인식방법들은 얼굴표정을 과장되게 지을 때에만 인식할 수 있다는 한계가 있었다. 따라서 사람들이 인식할 수 있는 미세한 표정변화를 컴퓨터가 인식하기 위해서 더욱 강건한 특징추출과 새로운 표정분류에 대한 정의 방법이 필요함을 알 수 있었다.

  • This study purports to identify the factors that contribute to the classification of age groups or generations of Koreans. Independent variables such as respondents' attitudes toward welfare, attitudes toward equity, education level, perception of inequality in Korean society, tax awareness, and health status are included in the model that were put into the analysis with the main interest. Since this study does not construct any hypothesis prior to analysis, the nature of this study can be said exploratory. The data utilized for the analysis are from the 17th year of the Korean Welfare Panel collected in 2022, and a linear discrimination analysis technique will be used. First and foremost, a theoretical review of the generational classification will be conducted through domestic and international literature in the past. To date, there is no quantitative studies in Korea that have a significant influence on the generational classification. Therefore, in this study, a theoretical review of political tendencies and values, which are estimated to have a significant influence on the generational classification, that is, the difference between generations, will be significant. Causual Analysis of Public Perception on Opportunity Inequality (기회 불평등에 대한 국민 인식태도의 인과 분석)

  • In Korea, 'spoon class discourse' has attracted public attention in the press and among young people, which reflects that mass awareness that the class status structure is clearly rooted in the society becomes widespread. Although income distribution has been improved since late 2000s, it is interesting that Korean people's subjective perception concerning class mobility and social justice has been worsemed. By using the survey data on people's perception of opportunity inequality, this study finds that Korean people have by and large negative subjective awareness regarding socio-economic opportunity inequality, magnitude of opportunity inequality, and achievement by efforts, and that the degree of the negative perception is greater in accordance with the people's subjective identification. The regression analysis reveals that the social status of respondents and their parents(-), experience of discrimination(+), age(-), and high education of college and above (+) have consistent effect over socio-economic opportunity inequality, magnitude of opportunity inequality, and achievement by efforts with statistical significance. More concretely, as people have lower subjective status identification at the time of parent generation and their own generation, as they have the experience of discriminatory misconduct, and as they are young and highly educated, they have negative or pessimistic perception regarding opportuinity inequality. In addition, it is revealed that the unemployed and non-regular workers have significantly negative perception on socio-economic opportunity inequality, magnitude of opportunity inequality, while negative perception on the magnitude of opportunity inequality and achievement by efforts is noticeable among high and middle income households.
