The Meaning of Death and Caregiving in Old Age: Reading from the Novels of Kyung-ran Jo (문학 텍스트 속의 노년 죽음과 돌봄: 조경란 소설을 중심으로)

  • This study portraits the way of self-preparation for death among the elderly and examines the meaning and values attached to the elderly-care by their family and friends through the analysis of Kyung-ran Jo's novels. First, the author describes the difficulties and inner conflict of women who provide care for the elderly, especially those facing death in the near future. She also describes how the acceptance of death and self-discovery among the caregivers can be developed from the experience of long term care. These are consistent with the arguments by Ecofemnist on positive sides of providing caregiving in an aging society. In her novels, caregiving from young women is not described as the consequences of internalized gender norms of traditional Confucian culture. Rather, it is depicted as attitude toward a life in a commune where the meaning of life and death of elderly is shared between generations. In addition, struggles of the elderly figures against diseases and the process of their death provide an opportunity for young caregivers to overcome the trauma of other's death witnessed in their childhood. They lead the young caregivers to reflect themselves by raising ontologistic questions on life and death. The author shows the communication between generations presenting the self-preparation of death from the old generation undergoing irreversible aging and caregiving activities of significant others from the young generation. In doing so, the author points out the ethical grounds for diseases and death in old age given the condition of personalization of death in the modern society.

  • Recently. many projects have been actively implementing IPsec on the various Operating Systems for security of IPv6 network. But there is no existing tool that checks the IPsec-based systems, which provide IPsec services, work Properly and provide their network security services well In the IPv6 network. In this paper, we design SERDL(Security Evaluation Rule Description Language) and rule execution tool for evaluating security of the IPv6 network, and we provide implementation details. The system Is divided into following parts : User Interface part, Rule Execution Module part, DBMS part and agent that gathering information needed for security test.

  • As the Internet is quickly evolving from best-effort networks to a very critical communications infrastructure that requires higher quality Internet services and the delivery of such communications services become competitive, large-scale NSPs or ISPs have to concern much more on the performance and efficient resource usages of their networks. This situation naturally leads the providers to seek a possible solution from traffic engineering (TE) methodologies. In this paper, we propose a TE server solution for a large-scale MPLS-based IP autonomous system, which addresses these TE requirements such as the measurement, characterization, modeling and control of Internet traffic.

  • Information Warfare(IW), a new aspect of war, is the field centralized the concern and research in the information security and national security, Both the defense and the offensive are important in the next generation IW, and so we need to do the various research to secure the network and system for gaining the superiority of IW. This paper proposes a model for IW based on software cruise to prepare the IW that is changing the offensive aspect. Software cruise is defined as a behavior of computer programs that travel toward specific destination from a source through the network. The proposed model have the cruise property and uses the cybermap to cruise toward the destination chosen in advance. Also, while self-movement, the model can function the predefined task.

  • ITU-R recommends general methodology to provide current and future mobile communication services and 12 parameters to calculate terrestrial spectrum requirements. In this paper we analyzed 12 parameters suggested by ITU-R Recommendation and provided a method to determine a specific parameter value in a specific region. We calculated spectrum requirements and network resources for year 2010 in Korean mobile environment by applying parameter values acquired in parameter analysis method of this paper. And we analyzed the variation of spectrum requirements by calculating spectrum requirements depending on variation of parameters for future mobile communication services.

  • This theory focuses on the Enterprise Portal and researches and analyzes the user requirement on as-is system. The UI Checklist Matrix is made based on the result of user analysis and evaluation of checklist. The horizontal axis of the Matrix is composed of 6 results(Layout, Navigation, Information, Function, Visibility and Interaction) of user requirement analysis. The vertical axis of the Matrix is composed of 10 subjects, Learnability, Efficiency, Accuracy, Accessibility, Consistency, Agility, Convergence, Personalization, Technology, and Standardization. At the point of vertical and horizontal items meet, indicates the graded of importance and defines a details item. The Guideline in which Matrix is reflected is set and according to the guideline, designing the business screen and assessing the Matrix.

A Workflow Enactment Model supporting Internet-scale Collaboration (인터넷 규모의 협업 지원을 위한 워크플로우 수행 모델)

  • This paper proposed a workflow enactment model to provide process management functions for the next generation Internet service environment such as Web Service and Grid Computing. The existing enterprise workflow enactment models could not meet the scalability and reliability requirements for aforementioned environments. To satisfy these requirements, this study addressed on applying P2P model to the workflow enactment model. Mathematical description and proof were employed to show the recovery based on set theory and we also showed performance enhancement through simulations, which demonstrated a comprehensive result giving more than 100 times fast response time than the existing centralized model on the same resources.

  • 전기기기 최적 설계에 있어서 결정론적 최적화 방법은 국부해를 빠른 속도로 찾을 수 있지만 최적값에 대한 보장이 어려우므로 비결정론적 방법인 진화전략 알고리즘을 많이 사용한다. 전기기기 최적화에 쓰이는 많은 확률적 알고리즘 중에서 진화 전략 알고리즘은 시뮬레이티드 어닐링과 유전 알고리즘을 결합한 방법으로, 전체 최적점 탐색이 가능할 뿐만 아니라 알고리즘이 비교적 간단하면서도 빠른 수렴 특성을 갖고 있다. 그리고, 종류 또한 다양하다. 진화 전략 알고리즘 중에서 중요한 것은 수렴속도와 성공률에 기여하는 파라미터들을 잘 선정하는 것이다. 본 논문에서는, 진화 전략 알고리즘의 중요한 인자인 자식 세대의 개수인 ${\lambda}$값과 ${\alpha}$값을 변화시켜 가면서 변수 개수에 따른 최적화된 조합을 제시한다. 본 논문의 결과는 전기기기 최적 설계에 응용하는데 도움이 될 것으로 사료된다.

  • 차세대 집적회로 제조공정에 있어 핵심기술인 선택적 단결정 실리콘 성장공정에 대한 이동현상, 열역학, 미시적 전산모사를 수행하여 다각적인 분석과 이해를 시도하였다. 첫째, 실리콘 단결정 성장 공 정에 가장 많이 사용되는 배럴 반응기를 대상으로 유한 요소법을 이용하여 이동현상적 이론연구를 수행 하였다. 반응기내의 기체속도 분포, SiH2Cl2 농도분포를 각각 구하였으며 압력, 기판온도, 총유량 HCl 유 량변화 등의주요공정변수가 증착율과 균일도 지수에 미치는 영햐을 고찰하였다. 이러한 연구를 통하여 저온, 저압, 총유량이 많고 첨가되는 HCl 유량이 작은 경우가 균일도 확보를 위하여 적합한 조업조건임 을 알수 있었다. 둘째 Si-H-Cl 계에 대한 열역학적 기체의 Cl/H비가 낮은 경우가 선택적 실리콘 증착 에 적합함을 알수 있었다. 셋째, Monte Carlo법을 이용한 선택적 실리콘 미세박막 성장패턴에 관한 이 론 연구를 수행하여 종횡비, 재방출, 표면확산에 따른 박막증착 패턴의 변화를 고찰하였으며 표면확산이 선택도 상실 현상의 중요한 원인이 될 수 있음을 발견하였다. 또한 최상의 선택도 확보를위해서는 낮은 부착계수와 낮은 표면확산계수를 유지해야 됨을 알수 있었다.
