The achievements of the medieval mappaemundi should be evaluated on their own terms and in the context of their purpose. Medieval mappaemundi expressed christian world view which reflected Augustinian theology. These Christian world view and Greek and Roman classical geography were combined to form the cultural barkground of the medieval mappaemundi. These maps had a function to organize physical space according to religious principles. The Christian concept of the world as a temporal phenomenon, derived from the simultaneous creation of time and space as described in St. Augustin's theology was represented in these maps. The purpose of this paper is to consider geographic characteristics of earthly paradise expressed in medieval mappaemundi and their cartographic characteristics. For this, firstly, we reviewed medieval Christian scholars' opinions on earthly paradise. Secondly, centered on geographic location and representation method, we examined cartographic characteristics of medieval paradise mapping, Thirdly, we considered the shift of paradise according to chronological change. Fourthly, we examined the reason why earthly paradise disappeared from world map after fourteenth century.

The Carte do Cassini is the first accurate topographic map of an entire country and it influenced enormously in the development of cartography in other countries. The purpose of this paper is to examine the production process and characteristics of the Carte do Cassini, and to and the place of 'Carte de Cassini' in the development of cartography. For this, firstly, the background of French national topographic mapping is examined and scientific work of the Cassini family is resumed. Second, the map production process is considered; location and attribute data collection, copperplate printing, social and economic difficulties. Third, map characteristics such as map projection, sheet numbering system, positional accuracy, legend, typographies, and depiction of cartographic signs are explored. Finally, the influence of the Carte de Cassini on cartographic development and its historical meaning is discussed.

본 연구에서는 로보트에 현재위치와 목적지가 주어지면 로보트가 가지고 있는 세계지도(world map)로부터 경로를 탐색하여 경로의 주위 환경 정보를 가진 경로지도(route map)을 생성하고 이를 해석하여 주행을 하도록 한다. 그리고, 인간은 매우 복잡한 상황을 간단하게 이행하는 능력을 갖고 있으나, 그 상황을 감지하는데 필요한 정보들은 불확실성과 모호성을 내포하고 있으며, 인간의 주관적 판단에 의한 것과 불완전 계측에 의한 것들을 처리하기 위해 퍼지 이론을 이용한 추론 및 주행 알고리즘을 제안한다.

본 논문에서는 전세계의 역사들을 시간대별로 정리하여 이용자들에게 제공하는 3차원 세계역사지도 웹페이지를 구현한다. 이를 통해, 사용자가 3차원 공간 안에서 지구본을 돌려보며 본인이 알고 있던 역사와 동시대에 일어났던 사건들을 비교해보거나, 몰랐던 사실들을 깨달음으로써 전 세계 역사를 연결 지어 인식하게 하고, 나아가 역사 학습 흥미를 일으키고자 한다. Three JS를 이용하여 웹페이지 내에 삼차원 공간을 렌더링하였고, Raycasting 기법 등의 방법으로 흥미를 유발할 수 있는 상호작용 기능을 구현하였다. 또한 실시간 데이터베이스는 구글의 Firebase 서비스를 이용하여 구현하였다.

1518년 이탈리아 출신의 선교사로 중국에 들어와 서양과학기술을 처음소개한 마테오 리치(1552-1610년)는 직업적 과학자는 아니지만. 서양의 기하학을 동양에 보급하는 업적을 남겼다. 로마대학에서 과학과 신학을 전공한 리치는 중국에서 선교활동을 하는 동안 임금에게 자명종을 바쳐 환심을 끌었으며 동문산지등 많은 수학책을 남겼다. 서양의 천문학도 소개했고 특히 세계지도를 만들어 보급했는데그가 그린 지도인 양의현람도는 현재 숭전대 박물관에 보관되어 있어 더욱 관심을 모으고 있다.

In this paper we propose an intelligent navigation algorithm for real world problem which can build a map without localization. Proposed algorithm operates online and furthermore does not require many memories for applying real world problem. After applying proposed algorithm to toy and huge data set, it does not require to calculate a whole eigenspace and need less memory compared to existing algorithm. Thus we can obtain that proposed algorithm is suitable for real world mobile navigation algorithm.
