Construction Techniques of Earthen Fortifications in the Hanseong Period of Baekje Kingdom (백제 한성기 토성의 축조기술)

  • This paper examined the construction techniques of the earthen fortifications in the Hanseong Period of Baekje Kingdom, which has been researched most frequently among the Three Kingdoms. The construction processes of the Earthen Fortifications were reviewed and dividing into 'selection of location and construction of the base', 'construction of the wall', and 'finish, extension and repair'. The results show that various techniques were mobilized for building these earthen fortifications. Techniques which were adequate for the topography were utilized for reinforcing the base, and several other techniques were used for constructing the wall. In particular, techniques for wall construction may be clearly divided into those of the fill(盛土) and panchuk(版築) techniques. The fill method has been assumed since the 2000s to have been more efficient than the panchuk technique. This method never uses the structure of the panchuk technique and is characterized by a complex soil layer line, an alternate fill, use of 'earth mound(土堤)'/'clay clod(土塊)', and junctions of oval fill units. The fill method allows us to understand active technological sharing and application among the embankment structures in the period of the Three Kingdoms. The panchuk technique is used to construct a wall using a stamped earthen structure. This technique is divided into types B1 and B2 according to the height, scale, and extension method of the structure. Type B1 precedes B2, which was introduced in the late Hanseong Period. Staring with the Pungnap Earthen Fortification in Seoul, the panchuk technique seems to have spread throughout South Korea. The techniques of the fill and panchuk techniques coexisted at the time when they appeared, but panchuk earthen fortifications gradually dominated. Both techniques have completely different methods for the soil layers, and they have opposite orders of construction. Accordingly, it is assumed that both have different technical systems. The construction techniques of the earthen fortifications began from the Hanseong Period of Baekje Kingdom and were handed down and developed until the Woongjin-Sabi Periods. In the process, it seems that there existed active interactions with other nations. Recently, since studies of the earthen fortifications have been increasing mainly in the southern areas, it is expected that comparative analysis with neighboring countries will be done intensively.

  • 우리나라에서는 대하천정비사업을 통해 주요 국가하천마다 보와 제방을 신설 및 보축하여 홍수의 방어 및 예방에 힘을 기울이고 있으며, 근래에는 이러한 정비사업이 완료되어 가고 있는 상황이다. 제방에 대한 정비사업의 내용은 보축 및 신설이 주를 이루나, 제내지의 성토와 제외지의 보강 및 저수로의 준설 등도 함께 수행되었다. 이러한 정비사업의 영향으로 지하수 및 하천의 흐름양상은 정비사업 전과는 다르게 변화 될 것으로 추정되며, 이는 제방 안정성에 영향을 줄 수 있는 중요한 문제로 판단된다. 따라서, 이와 같은 지하수 및 하천흐름의 변화양상이 제방의 안정성에 얼마나 영향을 미칠 수 있는지 정량적으로 분석할 필요가 있을 것으로 보인다. 특히, 대하천정비사업으로 지반누수를 방지하기 위한 제내지 성토나 퇴사제거를 위한 하천준설 등이 수행되면서 제방의 외적인 환경들이 많이 변하게 되었으나 이에 대한 정량적인 연구들이 거의 수행되지 않은 것으로 판단된다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 낙동강과 회천 합류부에 위치한 율지제를 대상으로 이곳에 설치된 간극수압계의 데이터와 2차원 침투해석 프로그램인 SEEP/W를 이용하여 제내지와 제외지 표고변화에 따른 파이핑 안정성을 분석하였다. 그 결과 제내지 표고가 상승하면 파이핑 안전율이 증가하고 표고가 하강하면 안전율은 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 제외지의 표고변화는 제방안정성에 거의 영향을 주지 않으며 오히려 하천수위의 영향을 지배적으로 받는 것으로 판단된다. 따라서, 제방안정성을 확보하기 위해서는 기초지반의 경우, 제내지측을 상승시키고 하천수위를 하강하는 것이 효과적일 것으로 판단된다.

A Study on the Settlement Characteristics of Fill Dam (FILL DAM의 침하특성(沈下特性)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究))

  • In order to investigate the settlement characteristics of fill dam with decomposed granite is used as a embankment material instead of conventional clay collected behavoir of Andong dam and analyzed. Andong dam is the use of decomposed granite in the embankment material, and various type of gauges were installed in dam to measure a pore pressure, interval vertical settlement, dam crest settlement, relative settlement, surface settlement and internal horizontal movement. The results were summerized as follows; 1. With the increase of embankment loading, the settlement of core zone during construction increased with linear and under the effective stress $7kg/cm^2$ vertical settlement ratio ranged between 0.1 and 0.8% approximately and showed smaller value than that of fill dam with clay were used as a embankment material. 2. Though embankment loading was increased with about over central part of embankment height, the settlement of core zone in the lower part of the embankment was influenced slightly. 3. Pore pressure responsed sensitively with the increase of coefficient of permeability in core zone and settlement increased with pore pressure were dispersed. 4. During construction relative settlement in the lower part of the embankment has the largest influence on magnitude of the relative density and after construction settlement showed larger value in the core zone which has the largest compression height. 5. Settlement distribution of dam crest showed larger value in the central part, maximum section of dam, but smaller value in near the abutment.

A Study on the Influence Range of Lateral Movement of Abutment on the Soft Clay by MCC Model (MCC 모델에 의한 연약지반의 교대측방이동 영향범위에 관한 연구)

  • This study, using the MCC Model to consider consolidation, estimated the range within which no influences occur from lateral movement and its amount of the foundation pile and abutment on the soft ground. This study performed finite element analyses, with variations on the adhesiveness and internal friction angle, depth of soft clay, embankment height, consolidation parameters, and separation distance between the abutment and embankment. The abutment's horizontal displacement exhibits linear change with a longer separation distance, and changes into an exponential form as the embankment gets closer to the abutment. As the soft clay layer becomes 10 m deeper, the horizontal displacement tends to increase 1.5~3.0 times. However, it decreases at a rate of 0.3~0.95 when adhesiveness is increased by 10 $kN/m^2$ and internal friction angle is increased by $5^{\circ}$. The increase change rate in a lateral movement amount becomes greater if it is closer to the abutment when the abutment separation distance is long. When the distance is short, the change rate of horizontal displacement increases in similar a way, but it tends to be decreasing overall.

  • In this study, it was carried out reliability analysis and slope stability analysis in a standard cross-sectional embankment on high speed railway. It was confirmed that changing tendency of safety factor with various parameter of each soil materials properties and trends of the probability of failure according to the reliability index. The results have shown that a safety factor were relatively large affected an cohesions and internal friction angle of soil compared to the unit weight of soil. Also, most of the standard cross-sectional embankment in high speed railway was generally evaluated the level of below average (below average) by the reliability analysis according to criterion in US. Army but the 12m height of dry embankment case was shown bad condition as Poor.

Consolidation Analysis of Soft Clay by Using Modified Consolidation Theory (수정압밀이론을 이용한 연약지반의 압밀해석)

  • Consolidation behavior on soft clay was investigated by using one- and two-dimensional analysis based on original and modified one dimensional consolidation theory. For the analytical model, the embankment was simulated by applying single- or multi-surcharge loading to the surface of soft clay. Based on the results obtained, it was found that the predicted settlement by one dimensional consolidation theory was most of the time higher than the observed one at the mid- and especially lateral-zone of embankment. When compared with two dimensional analysis, the result of modified one dimensional consolidation analysis showed almost similar trend to the observed one. There fore even in case where proper selection of soil parameters, one dimensional consolidation theory like as modified one dimensional consolidation theory could be suggested due to its convenience.

  • A prototype of a Concrete-Faced Rock-fill Dam (CFRD) was constructed to evaluate the behavior of the materials in each zone within the dam. The tested materials, selected based on their grain size distribution, were used in constructing the prototype dam with layers of variable thickness, settlement ratio, and water content. We investigated the suitability of various values of hydraulic conductivity, water content, dry unit weight, and settlement ratio for zones within the dam. The test results revealed the relationships between the number of passes and the dry unit weight, between the dry unit weight and the settlement ratio, and between the settlement ratio and the number of passes. This paper focuses on the relationship between hydraulic conductivity and the number of passes. The results of the present analysis could be used to establish reasonable compaction standards for materials used in dam construction.

Analysis for Bearing Capacity of Paper Ash in Industrial Waste as Filling Material (성토재로서 산업폐기물 제지회의 지지력 분석)

  • In this study, centrifuge model tests were fulfilled to investigate the characteristics of bearing capacity of paper ash as a filling material. The model tests were done varying the footing width and gravity level. The settlement and vertical soil pressure by loading were measured. The results from the tests were compared with the one from FLAC program using finite difference method and bearing capacity theory. After all, it was shown that the characteristics of load-settlement represented the local shear failure, which the settlement ratio s/B showed inflection point around 25~30%. As g-level and footing width were increasing, the load strength was increasing. The ultimate bearing capacity from the tests was very closed the results from Terzaghi's theory. As the distance from footing center was increasing, the vertical soil pressure was decreasing. If E/B is higher than 7, the stress by loading was almost increasing. The vertical displacement from loading was the largest one around under the footing and was almost occurred when the depth>4cm and E/B is higher than 5.0.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide the ways of recycling of by-product limes as lightweight fill, backfill materials, and lightweight blocks by performing experimental study. New lightweight fill materials and blocks were devised by mixing by-product lime, weathered granite soil, small pieces of waste EPS, and Portland cement. Physical, geotechnical, and environmental properties of the lightweight mixed soils and blocks were analysed by laboratory experiments for mixed samples manufactured with various mixing ratios. KMS tests were also performed to evaluate the concentration variation of the chemical components of the light weight blocks leachates. It is expected that this study will contribute to resolving the problem of by-product lime disposal as well as to recycling the by-product limes as fill materials and blocks.

  • 절 성토사면에 구조물을 설치할 경우 가장 중요하게 고려되어야 하는 점은 사면의 안정성 여부이다. 특히, 절 성토사면에 설치된 구조물이 붕괴되는 가장 큰 원인은 뒷채움재 내에 존재하는 수압의 영향이라는 것을 우리는 이미 많은 연구와 경험을 통해 알고 있다. 만일 지하수위가 존재하는 상태에서 단시간에 발생되는 집중호우로 인해 수위가 갑자기 상승하였을 경우, 구조물을 통해 전혀 배수되지 않는다면 절 성토사면의 안정성은 급격히 저하될 것이다. 이러한 사면의 배수압을 소산시킬 수 있는 공법은 여러 가지가 있으나, 본 연구에서는 특히 제주도의 지역적 특성을 고려하여 화산석을 채움재로 사용한 Mattress/Filter를 절 성토사면에 설치함으로써 배수압을 소산시킬 수 있는 방법을 연구하였다. Mattress/Filter는 제방 또는 절 성토사면의 파괴와 침식을 방지하기 위해 사면에 설치하는 육각형의 철망구조로서 유연성, 다공성, 배수성 및 식생성과 같은 특징이 있으며, 콘크리트 구조물과 달리 별도의 배수시설을 필요로 하지 않는 장점이 있다. 또한 본 연구에 사용된 Mattress/Filter의 채움재인 화산석은 현재 제주도 지역에 방대하게 분포되어 있다. 특히 현무암은 제주도 암석 전체의 90%이상을 차지하고 있으며, 투수성이 매우 큰 암석이다. 현무암의 공극률은 그 종류에 따라 $0.02{\sim}0.36$의 범위로 나타난다. 특히, 표선리현무암의 경우 평균 공극률이 0.23으로 나타나 모래의 공극률인 $0.3{\sim}0.8$에 비교하여 볼 때, 연구에 사용된 재료는 아주 우수한 투수성을 가진 것으로 판명된다. 또한 현무암의 경우 암석의 겉 표면이 미세한 다공질 조직으로 이루어져 있다. 따라서 암석자체에 물이 정체될 수 있어 구조물을 통해 배수될 때 암석이 머금고 있는 물로 인해 추가적으로 발생하는 중력은 다른 재료가 가지지 못한 화산석의 또 다른 장점이라 할 수 있다.서는 자료변환 및 가공이 필요하다. 즉, 각 상습침수지구에 필요한 지형도는 국립지리원에서 제작된 1:5,000 수치지형도가 있으나 이는 자료가 방대하고 상습침수지구에 필요하지 않은 자료들을 많이 포함하고 있으므로 상습침수지구의 데이터를 인터넷을 통해 서비스하기 위해서는 많은 불필요한 레이어의 삭제, 서비스 속도를 고려한 데이터의 일반화작업, 지도의 축소.확대 등 자료제공 방식에 따른 작업 그리고 가시성을 고려한 심볼 및 색채 디자인 등의 작업이 수반되어야 하며, 이들을 고려한 인터넷용 GIS기본도를 신규 제작한다. 상습침수지구와 관련된 각종 GIS데이타와 각 기관이 보유하고 있는 공공정보 가운데 공간정보와 연계되어야 하는 자료를 인터넷 GIS를 이용하여 효율적으로 관리하기 위해서는 단계별 구축전략이 필요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 인터넷 GIS를 이용하여 상습침수구역관련 정보를 검색, 처리 및 분석할 수 있는 상습침수 구역 종합정보화 시스템을 구축토록 하였다.N, 항목에서 보 상류가 높게 나타났으나, 철거되지 않은 검전보나 안양대교보에 비해 그 차이가 크지 않은 것으로 나타났다.의 기상변화가 자발성 기흉 발생에 영향을 미친다고 추론할 수 있었다. 향후 본 연구에서 추론된 기상변화와 기흉 발생과의 인과관계를 확인하고 좀 더 구체화하기 위한 연구가 필요할 것이다.게 이루어질 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.는 초과수익률이 상승하지만, 이후로는 감소하므로, 반전거래전략을 활용하는 경우 주식투자기간은 24개월이하의 중단기가 적합함을 발견하였다. 이상의 행태적 측면과 투자성과측면의 실증결과를 통하여 한국주식시장에 있어서 시장수익률을 평균적으로 초과할 수 있는 거래전략은 존재하므로 이러한 전략을 개발 및 활용할 수 있으며, 특히, 한국주식시장에 적합한 거래전략은 반전거래전략이고, 이 전략의 유용성은 투자자가 설정한 투자기간보다 더욱 긴 분석기간의 주식가격정보에 의하여 최대한 발휘될 수 있음을 확인하였다.(M1), 무역적자의 폭, 산업
