Assessment of Midpalatal Suture Maturation by Skeletal Maturity on Hand Wrist Radiographs (성장기 아동의 수완부 골 성숙도를 이용한 정중구개봉합 성숙도 평가)

  • The aim of this retrospective study was to evaluate the correlation between the midpalatal suture maturation and skeletal maturation in growing children aged 7 - 15 years and predict the maturational stages of the midpalatal suture corresponding to skeletal maturity assessed by the skeletal maturation indicators (SMI) and middle phalanx of the third finger (MP3) stages. The group of this retrospective study was consisted of randomly selected 132 male and 135 female in age from 7 - 15 years. The maturation of the midpalatal suture was evaluated by using images from cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) while the skeletal age was assessed by hand-wrist radiography. CBCT images and hand-wrist radiographs used in this study were obtained from all subjects for orthodontic diagnosis before orthodontic treatment. The maturational stages of the midpalatal suture showed strong correlations with both SMI and MP3 stages. The correlation between the midpalatal suture maturation and SMI (Spearman's correlation coefficient, ϒS = 0.905, p < 0.05) was slightly greater than that of MP3 stages (ϒS = 0.830, p < 0.05). There was a positive significant correlation between the midpalatal suture maturation and chronological age (ϒS = 0.868,p < 0.05). CBCT for evaluation of the midpalatal suture maturational stages may be unnecessary in every pediatric patients because SMI and MP3 stages were both replaceable useful methods for assessing maturation of the midpalatal suture before orthopedic treatment. In this retrospective study, the diagnostic reliability of the SMI method for estimating midpalatal suture maturation showed better reliability than the MP3 method.

Framework for Assessing Maturity of Future Manufacturing System (미래 제조시스템 성숙도평가 프레임워크)

  • In an environment transformed by smart factories, measuring the current level of the manufacturing system, deriving improvement targets and tasks and increasing the level of manufacturing competitiveness become the basic activities of the company. However, research on the component analysis and maturity assessment to ensure the future competitiveness of the company is in progress and in the early stages. This study analyzed the existing research on various models, development process, and framework for manufacturing system. In addition, we designed a structural model by deriving the components of future manufacturing system through smart factory related maturity assessment studies. We designed a meta-model that includes an assesment model and a transformation model, and derived the framework development process to propose an integrated framework for the maturity assessment of the future manufacturing system. We verified it by applying it into an actual evaluation project of smart factory.

Skeletal Maturity Evaluation using Maxillary Canine Development in Growing Children (성장기 아동의 상악 견치를 이용한 골격적 성숙도 평가)

  • This study aimed to investigate the correlation between maxillary canine's dental maturity and skeletal maturity of growing children. Cephalometric radiographs, hand-wrist radiographs and panoramic radiographs of 299 children aged 6 - 17 years were analyzed to measure the cervical vertebral maturation stages (CVMS), skeletal maturity indicators (SMI) and Demirjian index (DI). Spearman correlation test was used to analyze the correlation between dental maturity and skeletal maturity. There was significant positive correlation between the DI and CVMS in both boys and girls (p = 0.000). Similarly positive correlation was found between the DI and SMI (p = 0.000). The results of this study suggest that the dental maturity of maxillary canine can be used as auxiliary maturity indicator in growing children.

A Study on the Development of Assessment Model for Data Maturity of Library (도서관 데이터 성숙도 평가모형 개발 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop and present a model that can evaluate the data maturity of library. To achieve this goal, library data maturity model can be applied to library was designed by analyzing previous studies related to data maturity. As a result of this study, proposed data maturity model consisting of 19 evaluation factors in 5 areas was designed, and the maturity level was set to 5 levels. In the future, it will be possible to measure the data maturity of libraries participating in the library big data project using the data maturity evaluation model, and it can be expected that in the long term, it will be possible to present a direction for data-based library operation and data utilization development.

  • Technology readiness assessment is a procedure for managing defense project risk factors based on the preemptive identification of technical risks. Under current regulations, technology readiness is determined based on considerations of the ratings of factors itemized on a checklist, whether unsatisfied factors have a fatal impact on the project, and whether countermeasures for unsatisfied factors have been established. However, objective criteria for assessing the impact of unsatisfied factors have not been presented, and thus, at present, the results of technology readiness level determinations are largely subjective. In addition, the importance of questions on the checklist is dependent on individual project characteristics and this is not considered during the assessment process. In this paper, we propose an improved technology readiness assessment procedure that considers the characteristics of each project. Using the proposed procedure, we quantitatively determined the importance of each checklist item using a weighting method. We found the devised procedure improved the reliability and objectivity of technology readiness assessment results. A case analysis of a complex weapons system is presented to demonstrate these improvements.

  • Organizations of Software development are very important issue on enhancement of a software quality as rapid progress of software industry. Especially there are diverse attempts for enhancement of test maturity of the software organization through some kinds of the test maturity model. But the current test maturity models based on CMM(Capability Maturity Model) lack part of actual testing measurement and only measure level of test maturity. To solve these problems, we suggest 'double V-model' to execute both software development process and test process simultaneously, and also 'test attributes to Maturity Levels Correlation Matrix' for evaluating level of test maturity included with definitions of test attribute and level. That is, we enhance TMM(Test Maturity Model) adopted with 'Improvement Suggestion' of TPI(Test Process Improvement) which is easy the evaluation of test maturity of organization and gives the direction of improvement to level up the test maturity for the measured organization. As a result, we will contribute to level up the test maturity of the organization.

A Study on the Evaluation Method of Defense Technology Valuation Using the Readability Level Assessment of Core National Defense Technology (국방 핵심기술의 성숙도(Readiness Level)평가를 활용한 국방기술가치평가 방안 연구)

  • This study is intended to understand defense technologies that require the convergence of various technologies and the integration of systems, and to propose valuation methods that reflect the characteristics of each field. The measure of technology level, integration (system integration technology) between technologies, preparation of manufacturing, and maturity scale of the weapons system to be valued are measured according to the items of measurement factors to verify system performance, and to present a framework for estimating the quantitative values of core technologies using system maturity. Considering the characteristics of each technology field, the research suggests a proper valuation method. In evaluating the value of defense technologies, A proposal is made to evaluate the value of defense technology by competent technical experts in each field, using SRL, which can be evaluated according to the evaluation criteria reflecting the technical characteristics of each field, and to evaluate the completion of the entire system in quantitative terms.

Evaluation of Midpalatal Suture Maturation using Cone-Beam Computed Tomography in Children and Adolescents (CBCT를 이용한 소아청소년의 정중구개봉합 성숙도 평가)

  • This study aimed to analyze the association of midpalatal suture (MPS) maturation stages with skeletal maturation and age and to obtain references for establishing a treatment plan for rapid maxillary expansion (RME). Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) images from 480 children (240 boys, 240 girls) aged 7 - 15 years were obtained. MPS maturation stages and cervical vertebral maturation indicator (CVMI) were evaluated, and the correlations between MPS maturation stages, CVMI, and age were determined using the Spearman's correlation test. The positive likelihood ratio (LHR) of CVMI for MPS maturation stages was calculated. MPS maturation stages and CVMI showed a strong correlation. Especially, CVMI 1 - 3 showed positive LHR greater than 10 for the diagnosis of stages A - C. MPS maturation stages and age were correlated strongly in girls and moderately in boys. Conventional RME produces the most favorable skeletal effect at CVMI 1 - 3 or those up to 12 years of age and fewer skeletal effects at CVMI 4 or at 13 years of age in girls and 13 - 15 years in boys. It is recommended to evaluate MPS maturation stages using CBCT before RME application at CVMI 5, 6 or at 14, 15 years of age in girls.

The Moderating Effects of Information Security Policy between Information Security Maturity and Organizational Performance (정보보호 성숙도와 조직성과 간의 정보보호 정책의 효과분석)

  • The absence of proactive information security management to ensure availability, accessibility and safety of information can bring serious risks to customers as well as to the organization's performance and competitiveness because improper security management undermines business continuity. This study analyzed the maturity of information security which affects the organizational performance. Through the literature reviews, a research model using the organizational performance as the dependent variable, the risk management process maturity and risk assessment process as independent variables and the information security policy indexes as moderate variables was proposed, and an empirical analysis was made on the basis of survey. The results showed that there was a high causal relationship between information security maturity and organizational performance. However, even if the proportions of information security staff ratio and the information security budget ratio increased, information security maturity did not affect organizational performance. It suggests that information security maturity affects organizational performance, but information security regulations have their limitation as being a catalyst to improve organizational performance.

  • 프로젝트 관리 성숙도(Project Management Maturity Model)란 프로젝트 관리 관련 업무 성숙도를 측정하는 것으로, 프로젝트 성공을 위해 관련 있는 업무가 어느 정도 수준으로 진행되고 있는가를 평가하는 목적으로 주로 사용된다. 본 논문에서는 프로젝트 관리 성숙도를 활용하여 프로젝트 관리 성숙도가 범위, 일정, 그리고 원가에 미치는 영향을 연구 하였다. 연구 결과로 프로젝트 관리 성숙도가 낮으면 범위 변경률이 커지고, 일정이 지연되며, 비용 또한 초과되는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 성과를 토대로 기업이 프로젝트 관리 성숙도 향상을 위해 투자와 노력을 해야 한다는 것을 알 수 있다.
