표준어와 방언사이에는 위계가 존재하지 않고 열등하지 않다는 사상을 기반으로 방언을 보존하기 위한 다양한 노력들이 이루어지고있다. 또한 동일한 국가내에서 표준어와 방언간의 의사소통이 잘 이루어져야한다. 본 논문은 방언 연구보존과 의사소통의 중요성을 바탕으로 한국어 방언 기계번역 연구를 진행하였다. 대표적인 방언 중 하나인 제주어와 더불어 강원어, 경상어, 전라어, 충청어 기반의 기계번역 연구를 진행하였다. 공개된 AI Hub 데이터를 바탕으로 Transformer기반 copy mechanism을 적용하여 방언 기계번역의 성능을 높이는 모델링 연구를 진행하였으며 모델배포의 효율성을 위하여 Many-to-one기반 universal한 방언 기계번역기를 개발하였고 이를 one-to-one 모델과의 성능비교를 진행하였다. 실험결과 copy mechanism이 방언 기계번역 모델에 매우 효과적인 요소임을 알 수 있었다.

Unlike the conventional dramas, most of characters of tvN drama speak dialectic from Chonnam province. I could predict that watching this drama would influence the feelings, cognitions and behaviors of youth from that province. By interviewing 7 participants, I found that they felt strong familiarity with little exceptions. They recognized the being of dialectic and discovered the attractiveness of dialectic, and the necessity of preservation also. After watching the drama participants made a resolution to speak dialectic more, and made active actions to meet contents and people about dialectic. In conclusion, dialectic could be developed as an important element for interesting contents. The drama has a power to influence youths to change the feelings, recognitions, and actions. So I assert that the use of dialectic in the drama should be considered discretely and positively.

미국 남부 방언은 그 지역의 광대함과 아울러 그 지역에 속하는 언어사용자들의 언어 문화 및 역사적인 다양성에 의해 결코 한 가지 방언으로 취급할 수 없는 것임에도 불구하고 많은 경우에 그렇게 다루어져 왔다. 특히 소위 '남부 방언의 특징적 요소'로서 몇몇 자질들에 대한 연구가 많이 이루어져 왔다. 본 논문의 목적은 텍사스 지역방언에 이러한 남부 방언의 특징적 자질이 어느 정도 유지되고 있는가를 알아보고, 아울러 두 세대간에 언어적 차이가 있는지, 있다면 그 변화의 방향은 어느 쪽으로 전개되어가고 있는지를 밝히려는 데 있다. 이를 위하여 토박이 텍사스 인에 한하여 한 가정에서 두 세대(늙은 세대와 젊은 세대)를 대표하는 정보제공자 두 명씩을 각각 추출하여 네 가정 모두 여덟 명에게서 얻은 언어자료를 녹음하여 이를 분석, 정리하였다. 텍사스 지역방언에 대해 밝혀진 주요 내용은 다음과 같다. 1. /l/앞에 나오는 단순모음 /i/는 [$r{\partial}$] 또는 [$r{\partial}$]로 이중모음화된다. 2. 강세음절에서 비음 앞에 나오는 /e/와 /I/는 중화된다. 3. 늙은 세대에서는 /a/와 /${\supset}$/가 융합되어 쓰이나, 젊은 세대에서는 융합이 일어나지 않는다. 4. 이중모음 /ar/는 /a:/또는 /a/로 단순모음화하는 것으로 보인다. 5. 이중로음 /$a{\mho}$/ /$o{\mho}$/의 앞모음이 전설화한다. 6. [u], [ju] 와 [${\mho}$]는 모두 [${\mho}$]로 된다. 7. [w] 와 [M]는 일관성 없이 교대로 사용되나 [M]는 특히 늙은 세대에서 더 많이 사용된다.

Based on the importance of dialect research, preservation, and communication, this paper conducted a study on machine translation of Korean dialects for dialect users who may be marginalized. For the dialect data used, AIHUB dialect data distributed based on the highest administrative district was used. We propose a many-to-one dialect machine translation that promotes the efficiency of model distribution and modeling research to improve the performance of the dialect machine translation by applying Copy mechanism. This paper evaluates the performance of the one-to-one model and the many-to-one model as a BLEU score, and analyzes the performance of the many-to-one model in the Korean dialect from a linguistic perspective. The performance improvement of the one-to-one machine translation by applying the methodology proposed in this paper and the significant high performance of the many-to-one machine translation were derived.

이 논문은 21세기 세종계획 중 1998년부터 2007년까지 한민족언어정보화 분과 사업의 성과와 그 활용을 제시한 것이다. 이 사업에서는 국어 어문규정 검색 프로그램, 남북한 언어 비교사전, 한국 방언 검색 프로그램, 국어의 어휘 역사 검색 프로그램, 문학작품에 나타난 방언 검색 프로그램, 한국 전통문화 어휘 검색 프로그램, 남북한 정서법 변환 프로그램 등을 만들어 활용하였다. 국어 어휘와 관련된 정보화 작업을 시행하여, 국어를 다양하게 정보화하는 인력을 양성하고, 국어 어휘의 종합적 연구와 국어 발전에 크게 기여하였고, 국민들이 어문규정을 손쉽게 검색하여 국어생활에 큰 도움이 되도록 하였다. 특히 남북한 어휘 연구를 통하여 언어 통일 문제를 다루었고, 국어의 역사적 연구, 각 지역 방언 및 문학작품에 나타난 방언의 연구 및 이해에 큰 도움이 되도록 하였다.

This study aims to enhance English pronunciation education for Korean students by examining the impact of standard Korean and Gyeongsang regional dialect on the articulation of English vowels. Data were obtained through the Korean-Spoken English Corpus (K-SEC). Seven Korean words and ten English mono-syllabic words were uttered by adult, male speakers of standard Korean and Gyeongsang regional dialect, in particular, speakers with little to no experience living abroad were selected. Formant frequencies of the recorded corpus data were measured using spectrograms, provided by the speech analysis program, Praat. The recorded data were analyzed using the articulatory graph for formants. The results show that in comparison with speakers using standard Korean, those using the Gyeongsang regional dialect articulated both Korean and English vowels in the back. Moreover, the contrast between standard Korean and Gyeongsang regional dialect in the pronunciation of Korean vowels (/으/, /어/) affected how the corresponding English vowels (/ə/, /ʊ/) were articulated. Regardless of the use of regional dialect, a general feature of vowel pronunciation among Korean people is that they show more narrow articulatory movements, compared with that of native English speakers. Korean people generally experience difficulties with discriminating tense and lax vowels, whereas native English speakers have clear distinctions in vowel articulation.

음성 인식 기술은 상당 기간 연구 개발이 계속적으로 되었는데 최근에 이르러 스마트 폰이 급속히 확산되면서 그 필요성, 즉, 고품질의 상용 서비스에 대한 욕구가 널리 확산되고 있다. 이런 환경에서도 사실 한국어는 상대적으로 소홀히 다뤄 질 수 있는 가능성이 매우 높다. 이러한 소외는 기술적인 문제로만 남겨지는 것이 아니라 언어라는 측면에서 문화와 직결된다. 이에 한국어 음성 인식 연구는 꼭 필요한 것이고 많은 부분 국가가 정책적으로 지원을 하는 것이 마땅하나 현 상황은 많이 미흡하나 아마도 곧 그 필요성이 대두 될 것이라 예상하며 그를 준비하는 연구로 특화된 분야, 즉, 표준어와 방언들 그리고 감정 표현 언어에 관한 연구를 한다.

The purpose of this paper is to find out the nature of language variation by exploring the ways of the progress of the language variation that produces all English-lects, i.e., the World Englishes. The study of language variation in linguistics is a hybrid enterprise, so the study of World Englishes has led to the recognition of a highly diverse set of all English-lects, encompassing regional dialects, sociolects, ethnolects and (post-)colonial dialects of World Englishes. In this paper, we propose a hybrid language variation model with three interacting factors of social distancing, on/off-contact, and linguistic diversity to examine the characteristics of language variation. In the context of World Englishes, the social distance is typically low in terms of their local location (country/speech) for local purposes. The social distance also varies based on online/offline communication modes and other social factors like gender, age and ethnic groups, resulting in all English-lects. To clarify the nature of World Englishes, the core Englishes, BrE, AmE and CanE are discussed here.

구음마비환자의 특징적 문제로는 조음 명료성의 저하오 kdns율의 장애등이 논의되어왔다. 지금까지 조음 명료성을 진단하고 치료하기 위한 연구는 활발히 진행되어 왔으나 운율 장애를 측정, 치료하기 위한 연구는 극히 소수이며 특히, 우리나라의 경우는 전무한 상태이다. 이에 본 연구자는 정상군과 이완성 구음마비환자군의 운율적 차이를 음폭, 음도차, 지속시간, 강도의 측면에서 기술하여 진단과 치료를 위한 기초 자료를 제시하고자 한다. 실험 대상은 이완성 구음마비환자군 6명과 정상군 6명이다. 정상군은 환자군과 성별, 나이, 학력, 방언을 맞추어 선정한다. 본 연구는 억양 대비가 분명히 나타나는 의문형 어미와 서술형 어미를 선택한다. 예문은 억양 곡선을 잘 나타내기 위해 유성 자음과 모음으로 구성된 것으로 한다. 종결형 어미가 분석 목표이나 예문의 길이가 너무 짧은 경우 경도환자의 특징이 잘 나타나지 않을 수 있으므로, 주어+목적어+서술어로 구성된 3어절로 구성된 예문을 사용한다.
