The study is based on the actual experience and understanding of the hands-on workers toward its case management, who are working at the organization for preventing prostitution. To do this, data collected for the research is analyzed by an inductive approache. Participants are selected in the Counseling Centers for Prostitution, General Supporting Facilities, Supporting Centers for Self-help, and Youth Facilities. Three organizations in each type of the centers or facilities are respectively chosen. Twelve participants are composed of six hands-on workers in charge of the case management and six managers supervising it(called the director of the Center in some Centers). According to the analysis, the main issues of their case management experiences are divided into 5 topics and then sub-divided into 12 ones in 3 areas. Each theme of the topics is 'Steady & ordinary, not special tasks', 'Co-existence of a burden & thrilling', 'Sad, but pretending to be serene', 'Know-hows through practical experiences', 'Nevertheless, fill my future with hopes'. On the basis of the result, some policies and instructions necessary to actively revitalize the case management are suggested: expanding professional training centers based on the field, preparing government level customized-services in medical treatments and laws, creating jobs & intensifying job training, setting up various cooperative systems with local organizations via active networking, establishing super-vision systems, and so on.

  • The study aims to examine how exposure to phonography on the internet affects adolescents' behaviour toward sexual assault and the sex trade industry based on the social learning theory. A nationwide survey was conducted on adolescents between the ages of 14 to 19. Responses from a total of 2,829 adolescents were obtained and utilized in the analysis. The analytic findings showed that Korean adolescents are heavily exposed to phonography on the internet. Students use the internet to search for pornographic web sites, and they periodically look for updated materials. The study showed that between 1.8% to 16.5% of adolescents, who were exposed to or watched pornographic materials, committed sexual assault and were guilty of sexually harassing others. 3.5%(95) of those who were surveyed experienced sex trade. Internet chat rooms are considered to be a contributing factor. The results show that adolescents who were exposed to phonography are more prone to committing the acts of sexual assault and sexual harrassment, and tend to be more influenced toward sexual violence.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the differences in men's thinking and attitude on prostitution and gender based on the previous experience of buying sex. It was an exploratory survey for planning future studies and movements for changing a way of thinking in relation to prostitution. A total of 1328 male adults(above 19 years) completed a questionnaire consisting of general thinking of buying sex, tolerance limit of sexual behavior, and sex role egalitarianism. The respondents answered differently in the probability of paying for sex in future and the way how to get a sex information according to the previous experience of buying sex. Those respondents who had paid for sex, had higher scores on three types of sex attitude measures than those who did not. The previous experience of buying sex was significantly correlated with sub-factors of buying sex, tolerance limit of sexual behavior, and sex role egalitarianism except for the sub-factor on recognizing a sex worker as a victim (factor 4 of buying sex). These results suggest that men who had paid for sex had more traditional gender-stereotypes and attitudes. Implications and limitations of this study were discussed in a feminist perspective.
