  • The most common way to control a target point using artificial intelligence is through reinforcement learning. However, it had to process complicated calculations that were difficult to implement in order to process reinforcement learning. In this paper, the enhanced Proximal Policy Optimization (PPO) algorithm was used to simulate finding the planned flight trajectory to reach the target point in the virtual environment. In this paper, we simulated how this problem was used to find the planned flight trajectory to reach the target point in the virtual environment using the enhanced Proximal Policy Optimization(PPO) algorithm. In addition, variables such as changes in trajectory, effects of rewards, and external winds are added to determine the zero conditions of external environmental factors on flight trajectory learning, and the effects on trajectory learning performance and learning speed are compared. From this result, the simulation results have shown that the agent can find the optimal trajectory in spite of changes in the various external environments, which will be applicable to the actual vehicle.

  • This paper presents a CMOS interface circuit for vibration energy harvesting. The proposed circuit consists of an AC-DC converter and a DC-DC boost converter. The AC-DC converter rectifies the AC signals from vibration devices(PZT), and the DC-DC boost converter generates a boosted and regulated output at a predefined level. A full-wave rectifier using active diodes is used as the AC-DC converter for high efficiency, and a schottky diode type DC-DC boost converter is used for a simple control circuitry. A MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking) control is also employed to harvest the maximum power from the PZT. The proposed circuit has been designed in a 0.35um CMOS process. The chip area is $530um{\times}325um$. Simulation results shows that the maximum efficiencies of the AC-DC converter and DC-DC boost converter are 97.7% and 89.2%, respectively. The maximum efficiency of the entire system is 87.2%.

  • In the present study, vanadium oxide($V_2O_5$) films for electrochromic(EC) application are fabricated using sol-gel spin coating method. In order to optimize the EC performance of the $V_2O_5$ films, we adjust the amounts of polyvinylpyrrolidone(PVP) added to the solution at 0, 5, 10, and 15 wt%. Due to the effect of added PVP on the $V_2O_5$ films, the obtained films show increases of film thickness and crystallinity. Compared to other samples, optimum weight percent(10 wt%) of PVP led to superior EC performance with transmittance modulation(45.43 %), responding speeds(6.0 s at colored state and 6.2 s at bleached state), and coloration efficiency($29.8cm^2/C$). This performance improvement can be mainly attributed to the enhanced electrical conductivity and electrochemical activity due to the increased crystallinity and thickness of the $V_2O_5$ films. Therefore, $V_2O_5$ films fabricated with optimized amount of PVP can be a promising EC material for high-performance EC devices.

  • This paper suggests an advanced 8T SRAM which can operate properly in subthreshold voltage regime. The memory cell consists of symmetric 8 transistors, in which the latch storing data is controlled by a column-wise assistline. During the read, the data storage nodes are temporarily decoupled from the read path, thus eliminating the read disturbance. Additionally, the cell keeps the noise-vulnerable 'low' node close to the ground, thereby improving the dummy-read stability. In the write, the boosted wordline facilitates to change the contents of the memory bit. At 0.4 V supply, the advanced 8T cell achieves 65% higher dummy-read stability and 3.7 times better write-ability compared to the commercialized 8T cell. The proposed cell and circuit techniques have been verified in a 16-kbit SRAM array designed with an industrial 180-nm low-power CMOS process.

  • Various two-dimensional nano materials such as graphene, zeolite, and metal-organic framework have been utilized to develop an ultra-thin high-performance membrane for water purification, gas separation, and so on. Particularly, in the case of graphene oxide, synthesis methods and thin film coating techniques have been accumulated and established since early 2000s, therefore graphene oxide has been rapidly applied to membrane field. The multi-layered graphene oxide thin film can filter molecules separately by the molecular sieving of interlayer spacing between adjacent layers, and it is also possible to separate various materials depending on the surface functional groups or the degree of interaction to intercalated materials. This review mainly focuses on the nanofiltration application of graphene oxide. The major factors affecting the separation performance of graphene oxide membrane in solvent are summarized and other technical elements required for the commercialization of graphene oxide membranes will be discussed including stability issue and fabrication method.

  • Existing dozer productivity computation models use different input variables, formulas, productivity correction factors, and experimental data source. This paper presents a method that characterizes the productivity outputs obtained by the PLS model and the Caterpillar model that are accepted as industry standards. The method identifies the input variables to be collected from the site, the performance charts to be referenced, and the formulas and implements them in a single computational tool. This study verifies that the PLS model may replace the manual computational process of Caterpillar model by eliminating reliance on graphics manipulation. Replacing the Caterpillar model with the PLS model and implementing the process as a function contributes to assess the productivity of a dozer timely by encouraging to utilize real-time information collected directly from the site. This study allows researchers and practitioners to effectively deal with the values of productivity correction factors collected from the job site and to control the productivity. The practicality and effectiveness of the method have been validated by applying to a project case.

  • A design study of gas turbine engine simulation duct was conducted to investigate the operating characteristics and control gain tunning of the Altitude Engine Test Facility(AETF). The simulation duct design involved testing variable spike nozzle and ISO standard choking nozzle to verify the measurements such as mass flow rate and thrust. The simulation duct air flow area was designed to satisfy Ma 0.4 at the aerodynamic interface plane(AIP) at engine design condition. The test conditions for verifying the AETF controls and measurement devices were deduced from 1D analysis and CFD calculation results. The spike-cone driving part was designed to withstand the applied aero-load, and satisfy the axial traversing speed of 10 mm/s at whole operation envelops.

  • Recently, GPU expands application domains from graphic processing to various kinds of parallel workloads. However, current GPU systems focus on the maximization of each workload's parallelism through simplified control rather than considering various workload characteristics. This paper classifies the resource usage characteristics of GPU workloads into computing-bound, memory-bound, and dependency-latency-bound, and quantifies the fine-grained bottleneck for efficient workload allocation. For example, we identify the exact bottleneck resources such as single function unit, double function unit, or special function unit even for the same computing-bound workloads. Our analysis implies that workloads can be allocated together if fine-grained bottleneck resources are different even for the same computing-bound workloads, which can eventually contribute to efficient workload allocation in GPU.

  • In the precedent study, the retractable-roof spatial structure was selected as the analytical model and a tuned mass damper (TMD) was installed to control the dynamic response for the earthquake loads. Also, it is analyzed that the installation location of TMD in the analytical model and the optimal number of installations. A single TMD mass installed in the analytical model was set up 1% of the mass of the whole structure, and the optimum installation location was derived according to the number of change. As a result, it was verified that most effective to install eight TMDs regardless of opening or closing. Thus, in this study, eight TMDs were installed in the retractable-roof spatial structure and the optimum mass ratio was inquired while reducing a single TMD. In addition, the optimum mass distribution ratio was identified by redistributing the TMD masses differently depending on the installation position, using the mass ratio of vibration control being the most effective for seismic load. From the analysis results, as it is possible to confirm the optimum mass distribution ratio according to the optimum mass ratio and installation location of the TMD in the the retractable-roof spatial structure, it can be used as a reference in the TMD design for large space structure.
