  • Degraded shear performance of reinforced concrete members with recycled coarse aggregate (RCA) compared to flexural strength is a problem. To address this, steel fibers can be used as concrete reinforcement material. In this study, the strength and deformation characteristics of SFRC beams using RCA were to be determined by shear tests. Major experimental variables include the volume fraction of steel fiber (0, 0.5%, 1%), the replacement rate of RCA (0%, 100%), and the shear span ratio (a/d = 1, 2). As a result of the experiment, the shear strength of the specimen increased as the rate of mixing steel fiber increased. For specimens with RCA and 1% steel fiber, the maximum shear strengths increased by 1.77 - 6.25% compared to specimens with normal coarse aggregate (NCA). On the other hand, at 0-0.5% steel fiber, the shear strengths of RCA specimens were reduced by 24.2% to 49.2% compared to NCA specimens. This indicates that reinforcement with 1% volume fraction of steel fiber greatly contributes to preventing shear strength reduction due to the use of RCA.

  • In this study, in order to improve the fire resistance performance of structures in case of fire in buildings and structures, PVA fibers and the ZnO particles combined with mesoporous nano silica (MSNs) were mixed with cement mortar, and the specimen was exposed to a temperature range of 20~1100℃. Then the residual compressive strength and weight change rate were measured to determine whether the fire resistance performance changed. As a result of the study, it was found that mixing mesoporous nano silica and PVA fiber together did not contribute to improving the fire resistance performance of cement mortar. On the other hand, mixing 0.5% of mesoporous nano silica and 0.1 vol% of PVA fiber showed the best improvement test results, showing that it was advantageous for fire resistance performance.

  • In this research, The basic physical properties and EMP shielding performance by thickness were evaluated for optimum composition of EMP shield concrete that can be applied on-site by mixing carbon-based materials with high conductivity into concrete that uses electric furnace oxidized slag (EOS). As a result of the evaluation, it was confirmed that the slump decreased as the amount of mixed carbon fib er (CF) increased, and increased when milled carb on (MCF) was mixed. As for the compressive strength, it was confirmed that EOS enhanced the strength compared to NA, and it was confirmed that the strength decreased when CF and MCF were mixed. As the thickness of the EMP shielding measurement increases, the shielding rate increases, and it was confirmed that the type of conductive material and the thickness of the test specimen have a greater influence on the shielding rate than the Amount of conductive material added. As a result of a comparative evaluation, EOS CF 0.2 is considered suitable for EMP shield concrete formulation.

  • Recently the fire is happening at the tunnel and underground - structure internationally. We are socially the economy the actual circumstances which serious loss is happening due to an fire occurrence when fire happened which is closed like tunnel and underground - structure, the collapse from the burglar degradation of strength of tunnel concrete lining and human life damage happen. It causes big problem while the long time disconnects a traffic network. While the fire happened in this research at the tunnel, the paper construct a basis data to deduce the specification regulation about stability of tunnel concrete lining. In this paper, the experiment was carried out for the prevention of explosive spalling of tunnel to use a reinforced Polypropylene concrete which mixes a Polypropylene which are known for the thing by being efficient at a protect of explosive spalling of the concrete. According to the firproof test result of reinforced Polypropylene admixture mortar, Polypropylene admixture of prevention of explosive spalling analyzed 0.2%-0.25%.

  • This study examined the durability of face-slab concrete in Concrete-Faced Rock-filled Dams(CFRDs). The durability of face-slab concrete can be improved by optimizing the amount of fly ash in the cement mixture. Durability tests including plastic shrinkage, permeability, abrasion resistance, and repeated freezing and thawing were done on face-slab concrete specimens with different amounts of fly ash and blended PVA(Poly Vinyl Alcohol) fibre. When the effect of the fly ash content on concrete durability was evaluated, the results showed that a 15% fly ash content and 0.1% blended PVA fiber yielded the optimum durability level for concrete-faced rock-filled dams.

  • Four series of fiber reinforced concrete beams without shear reinforcement were tested to determine their cracking shear strengths and ultimate shear capacities. Results of tests on 36 reinforced concrete beams (including 21 containing steel fibers) are reported. Four parameters were varied in the study, namely, the concrete compressive strength, volume fraction of fibers, shear span-to-depth ratio, and the tensile steel reinforcement. The effects of fiber incorporation on failure modes, deflections, cracking shear strength, and ultimate shear strength have been examined. Resistance to shear stresses have been found to be improved by the inclusion of fibers. Based on these investigations, a method of computing the shear strength of steel fiber reinforced concrete beam is suggested. The comparisons between computed values and experimentally observed values are shown to verify the proposed theoretical treatment.

  • The effect of blending weight and fiber length on the tensile and flexural strength for Basalt fiber reinforce cement composites is discussed. The increase of physical properties is mainly affected by blending quantity of fibers instead of the fiber length. Also it is believed that the interfacial adhesion between Basalt fiber and cement matrix gives positive influence to the physical strength. Basalt fiber in saturated $Ca(OH)_2$ solution, which is similar to the alkaline hydration environment of cement, shows very low weight loss even after 3 weeks of immersion.

  • This study is reviewed fire resistance characteristics of high strength concrete according to changes in PP fiber mixing ratio and type of fine aggregate, and the results can be summarized as follows. As fire resistance characteristics, all plain crushed sands prevented spalling regardless of increase in mixing ratio of PP fiber. Mixtures other than the plain showed satisfactory spalling prevention when 0.05 % or more of PP fiber was mixed. After the fire resistance experiment, the plain showed 5.5 % of mass loss rate when fiber was not mixed and others could not be measured. According to increase in mixing ratio of fiber, river sand with fineness modulus of 2.2 showed most satisfactory result of 34 %${\sim}$42 %. Mass loss rate after fire resistance experiment was most satisfactory at about 10 % in the plain crushed sand without mixing of fiber, and all other mixes with 0.05 % PP fiber or more showed 5${\sim}$10 % loss rate.

  • This paper deals with the bonding characteristic of grouted joint connections of monopile support structures for offshore wind power facilities. For the integration of pile connection of wind power supporting structure, fiber reinforced high performance cementeous grout was developed and the ultimate compressive strength of it is 125MPa and the direct tensile strength is 7.5 MPa at 7 days. To assess the bond strength of grout filled in pile connection, small scaled direct bond tests under axially loaded was performed and analyzed according the existing guidelines. The fiber volume fraction (0%, 0.5% and 0.9%), aspect ratio of fiber (60 and 80) and the ratio of height to spacing of shear key (0.013 and 0.056) were adopted as the experimental variables. From the test results, the maximum bond strength among the all specimens was 30.8MPa and the bond strength of grouted connection was affected by the ratio of height to spacing of shear key than the fiber volume fraction.
