The study of cooperation and reciprocity mechanism in MMORPG games -focused on 'World of Warcraft: Classic' (게임에서의 협력과 호혜성 메커니즘 연구 - '월드 오브 워크래프트: 클래식'을 중심으로)

  • This paper studied cooperation and reciprocity mechanism by analyzing game mechanics of MMORPG 'World of Warcraft: Classic'. MMORPG is the genre of game where social interaction vigorously occurs. This study figured out the structure of cooperation based on evolutionary psychology, anthropology and social psychology through participatory observation. Four cooperation and reciprocity mechanism were drawn through investigating game mechanics like instance dungeon, clear role setting, item, soulbind. In addition, this paper suggests providing ideas of making cooperation mechanism in the field of game design.

  • 본 논문에서는 입체 영상 재현을 위한 한쌍의 이미지 스트림 데이터를 MPES-4 표준을 기반으로 효율적으로 인코딩하는 방식을 제안하고, 이에 대한 인코더를 분석, 설계하였다. 최근 하이비전 보다 더욱 인간의 감성에 호소하는 영상 시스템으로서 3차원 입체 영상에 대한 기대가 고조되고 있고, 영상 정보의 현실감 부여와 정보 전달의 리얼리티에 관한 많은 정보론 요구하고 있다. 또한 현대의 정보 통신 분야는 방송, 통신 및 컴퓨터가 통합되고, 무선과 유선이 융합되는 새의운 정보 통신 기술로 진화하고 있다. 이러한 변화의 영향으로 영상 서비스에 대한 기술 개발 경향도 영상 정보의 효율적인 전달 및 저장이라는 기존의 동영상 압축 표준이 갖는 기능뿐만 아니라, 보다 더 향상된 기능을 제공하는 방향으로 나아가고 있다. 기존 입체 영상 인코딩 방식은 상관 관계가(Correlation) 높은 각각의 입체 영상을 독립적으로 인코딩하는 반면, 본 논문에서는 한 인코더에서 동시에 인코딩하는 방식을 제안하였으며, 이 방식은 저장 공간과 이미지 스트림 전송에 효율적일 것이나 MPEG-4는 현재 각광받고 있는 인터넷 등의 멀티미디어 서비스에 있어서 효율적이고 필수적인 핵심기술로 본 논문의 기반이 되었다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 방식은 MPEG-4를 이용한 입체 영상 관련 응용에 적용될 수 있다.

Minimum Weight Design for Watertight and Deep Tank Corrugated Bulkhead (수밀 및 디프탱크 파형 격벽의 최소중량설계)

  • Corrugated bulkheads for a bulk carrier are divided into watertight bulkheads and deep tank bulkheads. Design of the watertight bulkheads is principally determined by the permissible limit of Classification and IACS requirements. But, the verification of strength through finite element analysis is indispensable for design of the deep tank bulkheads. A stage for stress evaluation of corrugated part is required for optimum structural design of the deep tank bulkheads. Since the finite element analysis for real model requires excessive amount of calculation time, in this study one corrugated structure is replaced with beam element and is idealized as 2 dimensional frame structure connected to upper and lower stool Minimum weight design of the deep tank bulkheads is performed through generalized sloped deflection method(GSDM) as direct calculation method. The purpose of this study is the development of design system for the minimization of steel weight of deep tank bulkheads as well as watertight bulkheads. Discrete variables are used as design variables for the practical design. Evolution strategies(ES) is used as an optimization technique.

Extended Hub-and-spoke Transportation Network Design using a Symbiotic Evolutionary Algorithm (공생 진화알고리듬을 이용한 확장된 hub-and-spoke 수송네트워크 설계)

  • In this paper, we address an extended hub-and-spoke transportation network design problem (EHSNP). In the existing hub location problems, the location and number of spokes, and shipments on spokes are given as input data. These may, however, be viewed as the variables according to the areas which they cover. Also, the vehicle routing in each spoke needs to be considered to estimate the network cost more correctly. The EHSNP is a problem of finding the location of hubs and spokes, and pickup/delivery routes from each spoke, while minimizing the total related transportation cost in the network. The EHSNP is an integrated problem that consists of several interrelated sub-problems. To solve EHSNP, we present an approach based on a symbiotic evolutionary algorithm (symbiotic EA), which are known as an efficient tool to solve complex integrated optimization problems. First, we propose a framework of symbiotic EA for EHSNP and its genetic elements suitable for each sub-problem. To analyze the proposed algorithm, the extensive experiments are performed with various test-bed problems. The results show that the proposed algorithm is promising in solving the EHSNP.

A Controller Design for Active Suspension System Using Evolution Strategy and Neural Network (진화전략과 신경회로망에 의한 능도 현가장치의 제어기 설계)

  • In this paper, we propose a linear quadratic regulator(LQR) controller design for the active suspension using evolution strategy(ES) and neural network. We can improve the inherent suspension problem, the trade-off between ride quality and suspension travel by selecting appropriate weight in the LQR-objective function. Since any definite rules for selecting weights do not exist, we replace the designers trial-and-error method with ES that is an optimization algorithm. Using the ES, we can find the proper control gains for selected frequencies, which have major effects on the vibrations of the vehicle. The relationship between the frequencies and proper control gains are generalized by use of the neural networks. When the vehicle is driven, the trained neural network is activated and provides the proper gains for operating frequencies. And we adopted double sky-hook control to protect car component when passing large bump. Effectiveness of our design has been shown compared to the conventional sky-hook controller through simulation studies.

  • Recently, the evolution of V2X (Vehicle to Everything) technology is accelerating. In particular, it can be seen that C-V2X (Cellular V2X) technology and services combined with mobile telecommunication network are developing rapidly. However, in Korea, e-Call and emergency communication services are inferior to the developed communication technologies and the proportion of vehicles arriving at Golden Hour is considerably low. Therefore, this paper designed the communication architecture with C-V2X and Android operating systems, and presented ways to improve existing e-Call services using V2N (Vehicle to Nomadic Device) communication based on it.

  • 슈퍼컴퓨팅센터는 현재 Cray T3E, NEC SX-5, Compaq SMP, IBM p690 등의 시스템을 보유하고 있으며, 1년 평균 600구좌 이상의 슈퍼컴퓨팅 서비스를 제공하고 있다. 이에 따라 사용자의 기본 시스템 사용법, 프로그램 컴파일, 디버깅 및 상용 프로그램 사용 관련 질의가 하루 평균 수십 건씩 이루어지고 있다. 이러한 사용자 상담 창구의 일원화 및 효율화를 위해 이미 HelpDesk를 운영하여 사용자 질의를 진화, 웹 게시판, 메일 등을 통하여 접수받아 처리하고 있다. 하지만, 이와 같은 방식은 같은 질의가 빈번할 경우 담당자가 동일한 질의 해결에 많은 시간을 소비하게 한다. 이러한 슈퍼컴퓨터 사용 시 발생하는 문제를 체계적으로 상담하기 위해 각 사용자 질의를 티켓(Ticket)이라는 한 개의 이벤트로 표시하고, 이러한 티켓에 의거 문제를 해결하기 위해 여러 관련 담당자 상호간에 협력할 수 있도록 사이버 HelpDesk 시스템을 구현함으로써 사용자에게 신뢰성 있는 서비스를 제공할 수 있게 하였다.

  • For the effective operation of manufacturing system, FMS(Flexible Manufacturing System) and CIM(Computer Integrated Manufacturing) system are developed. In these systems, a machine tool is the target of integration in last 3 decades. In nowadays, the conventional concept of machine tools is changing to the autonomous manufacturing device based on knowledge-evolution through applying advanced information technology in which open architecture controller, high speed network and internet technology are contained. In this environment, a machine tool is not the target of integration but the subject of cooperation. In the future, a machine tool will be more improved in the form of a knowledge-evolution based device. In order to develop the knowledge-evolution based machine tools, this paper proposes the structure of knowledge evolution in M2M(Machine To Machine) and the scheme of a dialogue agent among agent-based modules such as a sensory module, a dialogue module, and an expert system. The dialogue agent has a role of interfacing with another machine for cooperation. To design the dialogue agent module in M2M environment, FIPA-OS and ping agent based on FIPA-OS are analyzed in this study. Through this, it is expected that the dialogue agent module can be more efficiently designed and the knowledge-evolution based machine tools can be hereafter more easily implemented.

  • Web 2.0/3.0 in accordance with the evolution of information technology environment to meet the expansion needs to order, a wide range of mobile internet devices spread in mobile app, mobile web, mobile webapp and hybrid app environment that is based on all the information technology industry in the mobile painter been progressing rapidly. However, the need to gradually ensure compatibility of mobile services in the life cycle of the appearance and reality of these devices is becoming increasingly diverse mobile devices has emerged shortened. Therefore, in this study to suggest the best infographics design the structure and framework of the future mobile environment through a study of the use of the N-Screen convergence in mobile wepapp environment.

Design of Optimized Fuzzy Controller for Rotary Inverted Pendulum System Using Differential Evolution (차분진화 알고리즘을 이용한 회전형 역 진자 시스템의 최적 퍼지 제어기 설계)

  • In this study, we propose the design of optimized fuzzy controller for the rotary inverted pendulum system by using differential evolution algorithm. The structure of the differential evolution algorithm has a simple structure and its convergence to optimal values is superb in comparison to other optimization algorithms. Also the differential evolution algorithm is easier to use because it have simpler mathematical operators and have much less computational time when compared with other optimization algorithms. The rotary inverted pendulum system is nonlinear and has a unstable motion. The objective is to control the position of the rotating arm and to make the pendulum to maintain the unstable equilibrium point at vertical position. The output performance of the proposed fuzzy controller is considered from the viewpoint of performance criteria such as overshoot, steady-state error, and settling time through simulation and practical experiment. From the result of both simulation and practical experiment, we evaluate and analyze the performance of the proposed optimal fuzzy controller from the comparison between PGAs and differential evolution algorithms. Also we show the superiority of the output performance as well as the characteristic of differential evolution algorithm.
