Evaluation on the Shear Performance of U-type Precast Prestressed Beams (U형 PSC보외 전단거동 평가)

  • Shear tests were performed on four ends of full scale U-type beams which were designed by optimum process for the depth with a live load of 4903Pa. The ratio of width to depth of full scale 10.5 m-span, composite U-type beams with topping concrete was greater than 2. Following conclusions were obtained from the evaluation on the shear performance of these precast prestressed beams. 1) Those composite U-type beams performed homogeneously up to the failure load, and conformed to ACI Strength design methods in shear and flexural behaviors. 2) The anchorage requirements on development length of strand In the ACI Provisions preyed to be a standard to determine a failure pattern within the limited test results of the shallow U-type beams. 3) Those all shear crackings developed from the end of the beams did not lead to anchorage failure. However, initiated strand slip may leads the bond failure by increasing the size of diagonal shear crackings. 4) The flexural mild reinforcement around the vertical center of beam section was effective for developments of a ductile failure.

Lateral Resisting Capacity for CFT Column to RC Flat Plate Slab Exterior Connections (CFT 기둥-RC 무량판 슬래브 외부접합부의 횡저항 성능)

  • A combination of CFT column and RC flat plate without formworks is very effectively rapid constructions. This paper verified the lateral resisting capacity of CFT column-RC flat plate exterior connection in comparison with general RC column-flat plate connection and detected moment capacity and ductility capacity of connection according to moment-displacement ratio. We made and tested specimens which have different variables respectively and as a result derive a following conclusion. In CFT-E2 specimen a critical section was extended and maximum moment increased 20% respectively in comparison to general RC column specimen. In BME and CFT-E1 specimens generally shear governed behaviors and CFT-E2 specimen complemented with seismic band, flexure behavior region of slab was extended and also ductility ratio and energy absorptance increased.

Experiments of the Lateral Loading Capacity of Exterior Joints of Non-seismically Designed RC Frames in Korea (비내진설계된 우리나라 RC 외부 접합부의 횡저항 능력에 관한 실험)

  • To investigate the cyclic characteristics of exterior joints in RC frame buildings which are typically used after 1988, 70% scaled T-shaped beam-column subassemblies were designed and tested with a displacement control that is composed of 9 steps, until 3.5% story drift was reached. Axial forces are applied to columns during the experiment to simulate a real situation. The results show that the non-seismic detailed specimens failed before reaching 0.85% story drift, and their strengths are less than 0.85 times the nominal flexural strength which beam or columns should reach. The relationship of principal stress and story drift of exterior joints is similar to the one that Priestly proposed.

Moment-Curvature Relationship of Structural Wells with Confined Boundary Element (단부 횡보강된 구조벽의 모멘트-곡률 관계)

  • For performance-based design using nonlinear static analysis, it is required to predict the inelastic behavior of structural members accurately. In the present study, a nonlinear numerical analysis was peformed to develop the method describing the moment-curvature relationship of structural wall with boundary confinement. Through the numerical analysis, variations of behavioral characteristics and failure mechanism with the arrangement of vertical reinforcement and the length of boundary confinement were studied. According to the analysis, the maximum moment-carrying capacity of structural walls with adequately confined boundary elements is developed at the moment the unconfined concrete reaches the ultimate compressive strain. Walls with flexural re-bars concentrated on the boundaries fails in a brittle manner. As vortical re-bars in the web increases, the brittle failure is prevented and a ductile failure occurs. Based on the findings, moment-curvature curves for walls with a variety of re-bar arrangement were developed. According to the proposed relationships, deformability of the structural walls wth boundary confinement increases as the compressive strength of the confined concrete increases compared to the applied compressive force.

  • The uniform truss mechanism is widely accepted as a shear transfer mechanism in reinforced concrete members. However, the uniform truss action cannot be expected when the bond stress distribution is not constant along longitudinal bars. A test method in which only the truss action takes place is developed and conducted to investigate the truss actions under various bond contributions. Based on the experimental results and analysis, the following findings can be obtained: 1) The bond stress distribution depends on the axial compression force, the amount of shear reinforcement and loading conditions. 2) The analysis using the combined truss model consisting of uniform and fan-shape trusses can predict the experimental results

  • Fiber-reinforced composite materials due to their high specific strength, high stiffness and light weight are becoming increasingly used in many engineering industry, especially in the aerospace, marin and civil, etc. In this paper, the buckling load and mode shapes of composite laminates with elliptical cross-section including transverse shear deformations are analyzed. For solving this problems, a versatile flat shell element has been developed by combining a membrane element with drilling degree-of-freedom and a plate bending element. Also, an improved shell element has been established by the combined use of the addition of enhanced assumed strain and the substitute shear strain fields. The combined influence of shell geometry and elliptical cross-sectional parameter, fiber angle, and lay-up on the buckling loads of elliptical cylinder is examined. The critical buckling loads and mode shapes analyzed here may serve as a benchmark for future investigations.

Engineering Properties of Permeable Polymer Concrete with Rice-Husk Ash (왕겨재를 혼입한 투수성 폴리머 콘크리트의 공학적 성질)

  • This study was performed to evaluate the engineering properties of permeable polymer concrete with rice-husk ash. The following conclusions were drawn; 1. The highest sterngth was achieved by 50% filled rice husk-ash permeable polymer concrete, it was increased 24% by compresseve, 123% by tensile and 90% by bending strength than that of the normal cement concrete, respectively. 2. The static modulus of elasticity was in the range of $1.27{\times}10^5{\sim}1.75{\times}10^5kgf/cm^2$, which was approximately 58~70% of the normal cement concrete. The higher elastic modulus was showed by 50% filled rice-husk ash permeable polymer concrete, relatively. The poisson's number of permeable polymer concrete was less than that of the normal cement concrete. 3. The ultrasonic pulse velocity was in the range of 2,503~3,083m/sec, which was showed about the same compared to that of the normal cement concrete. The higher pulse velocity was showed by 50% filled rice-husk ash permeable polymer concrete. 4. The water permeability was in the range of $4.612{\sim}5.913{\ell}/cm^2/hr$, and it was largely dependent upon the mix design. These concrete can be used to the structures which need water permeability.

Pull-out Capacity of Cast-in-place Anchor for Construction of Precast Concrete Segment Arch (프리캐스트 콘크리트 패널 분절 아치 시공을 위한 선설치 앵커의 인발 강도 평가)

  • Precast concrete segment arch system has an economic and construct ability that combined with advantage of precast concrete and arch behavior. A precast concrete segment arch system with outrigger is consisted of segmented precast panels, a steel outrigger rib, and V-strip to connect precast panels with a steel outrigger rib and cast-in-place anchors in precast panels to connect V-strip should have sufficient pull-out capacity to form its arch shape by site lifting for assembled precast panels and outriggers. However, it is difficult to secure its embedment depth due to the relatively shallow thickness of precast panel. It can be also occurred that flexure deformation of precast panels caused by its pull-out behaviors. In this study, pull-out capacity of cast-in-place anchor was examined for construction of precast concrete segment arch system with outriggers. Therefore, a total of 24 precast panel specimens were fabricated to examine pull-out capacities of cast-in-place anchor in precast panels, and installation depth of anchors, diameter of anchors and wire mesh effects for the precast panel were examined. From this pull-out tests, its pull-out capacities and failure modes were evaluated and the type of the cast-in-place anchor applicable to the precast concrete segment panel arch system with outriggers was determined from comparison of the design specification values.

An Experimental Study on the Engineering Properties of Lightweight Aggregate Concrete (경량골재 콘크리트의 공학적 성질에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • 건설기술과 산업의 발전에 따라 구조물은 대형화되어 가고, 건설공사의 급격한 팽창으로 골재 수용량이 급증함에 따라 천연골재자원은 점차 부족현상을 면치 못할 처지에 있다. 또한, 무리한 천연골재의 채취는 자연환경을 훼손시킬 뿐만 아니라 자연보호 측면에서도 심각한 공해문제로 대두되고 있어 공급량 부족현상은 날로 심화되고 있다. 이에 세계 몇몇 나라에세는 산업부산물을 이용한 골재 생산으로 공해예방과 폐기물 활용방법을 연구하고 있다. 산업부산물중 플라이 애쉬 생산량은 전 세계적으로 매년 약 2억여톤에 달하고 있으나 이중 일부만 활용되고 있는 실정이다. 이와같은 부산물을 활용하기 위한 일환으로 산업부산물인 PFA(Pulverized Fuel Ash)로 만든 인공경량골재의 년생산량이 영국은 600,000$m^3$, 미국은 300,000$m^3$이며, 매년 증가주세에 있다. 고성능 경량골재 콘크리트는 단위중량의 증가없이 내구성과 강도를 향상시켜 실용화 측면에서 경제적인 효과가 있으며, 플라이 애쉬로 만든 경량골재는 시멘트와의 친화력이나 접착면에서 우수한 것으로 알려져 있다. 본 시험에 사용한 골재는 플라이 애쉬로 만든 인공경량 조골재와 강모래이고, 결합제로서 프틀랜드 시멘트를 사용하였다. 부수적인 결합재로서는 플라이 애쉬, 슬래그, 실리카 흄을 사용하였으며, 고성능 경량골재 콘크리트를 개발코자 재령 28일과 180일의 압축강도가 각각 50MPa와 60MPa가 되도록 배합설계를 하였다. 본 연구에서는 플라이 애쉬, 슬래그, 시리카 흄과 같은 산업부산물을 혼입했을때 경량골재 콘크리트의 압축강도, 휨강도, 동탄성계수, 공극체적, 공극률, 단위중량, 공극 크기별 분포등의 변화를 실험적으로 구명하여 재반 구조용 콘크리트에 활용하기 위한 기초자료를 마련코저 한다.있어 특정한 발육단계의 난포 사망기전을 연구하기 어렵다. 또한 난포는 생체 내에서 다양한 호르몬을 동시에 분비하기 때문에 특정한 난소국부호르몬이 사망기전에 미치는 영향을 조사하기 힘든 점이 있다. 최근 들어 난포체외배양이 다양하게 개발되면서, 이러한 어려운 점을 극복할 수 있게 되었다. 본 논문은 각 발육단계의 난포를 절단해 체외배양하면서, apoptosis DNA 절단 현상을 이용하여 각종 난소국부 호르몬들이 난포발육단계별로 사망기전에 미치는 영향을 요약해 보였다. 난포는 발육하면서 점차 복잡한 호르몬 경로를 생존을 위해 필요로 한다. Prevulatory난포생존에 필요한 난소국부호르몬들은 early antral 단계의 난포에서는 그 미치는 영향이 감소되다가 preantral단계의 난포에서는 영향을 전혀 미치지 못했다. 단지 예외는 cGMP처리로써, 세포내 cGMP수준을 일정하게 유지시켜주는 것이 난포발육단계에 무관하게 생존에 중요한 인자로, 장래 연구는 난포 세포내의 cGMP수준을 조절하는 기작을 규명하는데 있을 것이다.인정되지 않았다. 7. 농지보전 처리구인 배수구와 초생수로구는 비처리구에 비해 낮은 침두 유출량과 낮은 토양유실량을 나타내었다.구보다 14% 절감되는 것으로 나타났다.작용하는 것으로 사료된다.된다.정량 분석한 결과이다. 시편의 조성은 33.6 at% U, 66.4 at% O의 결과를 얻었다. 산화물 핵연료의 표면 관찰 및 정량 분석 시험시 시편 표면을 전도성 물질로 증착시키지 않고, Silver Paint 에 시편을 접착하는 방법으로도 만족한 시험 결과를 얻을 수 있었다.째, 회복기 중에 일어나는 입자들의 유입은 자기폭풍의 지속시간을 연장시키는 경향을 보이며 큰 자기폭풍일수록 현저했다. 주상에서 관측된 이러한 특성은 서브스톰 확장기 활동이 자기폭풍의 발달과 밀접한 관계가

Performance Evaluation of Encased-Concrete Bridge Plate(Deep Corrugated Steel Plate) Member (콘크리트 충전 브릿지 플레이트(대골형 파형강판) 부재의 성능평가)

  • The current encased-concrete deep corrugated steel plate has an arch type plate structure, which is a compressive strength-dominant structure that has a small moment due to its arch shape. Therefore, it increases the strength against compression by adding reinforcements to make concrete-filling spaces for increasing the compressive strength and forming cross sections that contain reinforced concrete. In this study, the safety factor of the new-concept encased-concrete bridge plate member was evaluated by comparing the compressive strength obtained from the compressive tests, flexural tests and the design compressive strength determined by using the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC, 2003), which is a design standard for the encased-concrete bridge plate structures. The results of the safety factor evaluation using the design compressive strength and the test results showed that the safety factor was well above the appropriate value 2.0, which could be adjudged very conservative. If the safety factor based on this study results is considered and applied to the design, economical construction will be possible due to the reduced cross section and construction cost.
