A Position control of Ball-Beam using CDM (CDM을 이용한 Ball-Beam 위치제어)

  • 제어 시스템에서 제어기를 설계하는 방법에는 기존 PID 설계 기법인 Ziegler-Nichols와 Jung, R. C. Dorf 방법들이 있다. 본 논문은 Shunji Manabe의 계수도법(CDM Coefficient Diagram Method)을 이용하여 Ball-Beam 시스템을 제어하기 위한 PID 제어기를 설계한다. PID 제어기의 각 파라메터인 P, I, D 계수는 시스템의 속도와 안정성에 기인하는 표준 안정도 지수$(\gamma)$와 등가시정수$(\tau)$ 로부터 얻 어진다. 등가시정수$(\tau)$와 안정도 지수$(\gamma)$는 제어기 파라메터의 대수적 형태와 절대적인 관계가 있다. 그러므로 설계된 제어기로부터 빠른 상승시간과 안정된 정상상태 응답을 얻을 수 있다. Ball-Beam 시스템에 CDM 제어기를 적용한 결과 시스템의 안정도, 정확성 그리고 강인성에 있어서 퍼지 제어기나 PID 제어기에 비해 뛰어난 응답 특성을 확인하였다

  • 퍼지제어기를 실제 플랜트에 적용할 경우, 모델링 오차와 플랜트에 대한 관련지식의 부족으로 만족할 만한 제어 결과를 기대하지 못한다. 이러한 경우 제어기 성능을 향상시키기 위해 제어인자를 다시 조정해야 하고, 이 조정과정은 시행착오방법으로 수행되기 때문에 많은 시간과 비용을 필요로 한다. 본 논문에서는 퍼지 논리를 사용하여 스케일링 계수를 자동조정하는 퍼지 레귤레이터를 제안하였다. 스케일 계수의 출력 범위와 오차, 오차 변화량 따라 퍼지 레귤레이터는 적절한 스케일링 계수값을 결정함으로써 퍼지제어기의 성능을 향상시키게 된다. 제안한 방법의 타당성을 확인하기 위해 2차 플랜트에 적용하여 모의실험을 수행하였다.

  • Firstly the problems of existing foreign code concerning wheel load distribution factor for skew box girder bridges have been examined, and the main parameters which have effects on wheel load distribution factors are evaluated in this study. Further finite element analyses on various skew steel box girder bridges are carried out. Based on the analysis results, formulas to determine wheel load distribution factors are proposed using multiple regression analysis. It is found when using the proposed formulas in this study weak points of existing specifications could be improved and also time spent at structural analysis should be saved a lot, so that the validity and practicality could be verified.

  • This paper aims to investigate the effects of cable rupture on the dynamic responses of concrete cable-stayed bridges in comparison with those of steel composite ones. It examines an adequate analysis method for simulating cable rupture using a time history function and evaluates the design guidelines for dynamic amplification factor (DAF). The computed DAFs from a concrete cable-stayed bridge are compared with those from a steel composite one based on the design guideline. As a conclusion, the current design guidelines for DAF may be reliable in overall but show some unstable cases despite satisfying the design guidelines, especially for concrete cable-stayed bridges.

  • This study analyzes the effects of the curvature friction coefficient, the wobble friction coefficient, and the increased strength of concrete, reinforced tendon on optimum de signs by using the optimum-design program, to minimize the cost of a PSC box girder bridge using the full staging method. The objective of this study is to find a proper tendon for the friction coefficient, and thereafter, to indicate the direction of the study development about tendons and to indicate the direction of a study on the increased strength of used materials. This program used the SUMT procedure and Kavlie's extended-penalty function to allow infeasible design points in the process. Powel's direct method was used in searching design points, and the gradient approximate method was used to reduce the design hours.

  • The estimation of total travel time on highway link for a day or year is the most important process for the feasibility analysis of highway or railway. Most of current guidelines for feasibility studies have been based on the time-traffic volume relationship from the BPR, and the traffic volumes have been determined by the application of the design hour factor to the annual average daily traffic volume. Both of the BPR function and the application of the design hour volume may result in the over-estimation of travel time due to the fact that the traffic volume on the large portion of highway links in Korea are close to the capacities. This study proposed a new way which is based on the distribution of hourly volumes for a year. It could be closer to the real situation, and provide more reasonable estimation. This methodology was validated for the national highways, but may be applicable for any type of highway with the AADT.

  • This paper presents the method for the automatic tuning of a design weighting polynomial parameter of a generalized minimum-variance stochastic self tuning controller which adapts to changes in the system parameters with time delays and noises. The self tuning effect is achieved through the recursive least square algorithm at the parameter estimation stage and also through the Robbins-Monro algorithm at the stage of optimizing a design weighting polynomial parameters. The proposed self tuning method is simple and effective compared with other existing self tuning methods. The computer simulation results are presented to illustrate the procedure and to show the performance of the control system.

Creep-Fatigue Life Design with Various Stress and Temperature Conditions on the Basis of Lethargy Coefficient (응력 및 온도 변화시 무기력계수를 이용한 크리프-피로 수명설계)

  • High temperature and stress are encounted in power plants and vehicle engines. Therefore, determination of the creep-fatigue life of a material is necessary prior to fabricating equipments. In this study, life design was determined on the basis of the lethargy coefficient for different temperatures, stress and rupture times. SP-Creep test data was compared with computed data. The SP-Creep test was performed to obtain the rupture time for X20CrMoV121 steel. The integration life equation was considered for three cases with various load, temperature and load-temperature. First, the lethargy coefficient was calculated by using the obtained rupture stress and the rupture time that were determined by carrying out the SP-Creep test. Next, life was predicted on the basis of the temperature condition. Finally, it was observed that life decreases considerably due to the coupling effect that results when fatigue and creep occur simultaneously.

Storm-Centered Areal Reduction Factors by Durations and Return Periods Using Rain Fields with Composite of Radar and Gauge Rainfall (레이더 및 지상 합성강우장에 대한 지속시간-재현기간별 호우중심형 ARF)

  • 설계홍수량 산정 시, 지점강우량을 대상 유역 내 면적강우량으로 환산하기 위해 면적우량환산계수(ARF, Areal Reduction Factors)를 적용한다. ARF를 산정하는 방법은 크게 면적고정형법(Fixed-Area Method)과 호우중심형법(Storm-Centered Method)로 나뉜다. 면적고정형법은 현재 국내 하천설계기준에서 활용하고 있는 방법이지만, 공간적 관측밀도의 제약으로 정확한 ARF 산정에는 한계가 있다. 또한 연 최대치계열의 독립적인 빈도해석을 통해 지점강우량과 면적강우량을 산정하므로 동시간(Synchronized)에 발생하는 강우 사상이라고 볼 수 없기 때문에 산정된 ARF는 실제 강우사상으로부터 산정된 값과 편차를 보인다. 반면 호우중심형법은 각각의 강우사상을 분석 대상 유역 중심에 공간전이 시켜 최대 강우량이 발생하도록 하는 방법으로, 레이더 강우 자료를 활용하면 현실적 ARF값의 산정이 가능해진다. 레이더 강우는 기상청에서 제공하는 2007-2012년 홍수기(6-9월)의 10분 단위 단일편파 전국합성 레이더 자료를 활용하였으며, 대상지역으로는 한강 권역을 선정하였다. 그러나 기상청 레이더강우 자료의 경우 가용기간이 아직까지 충분하지 않아 다양한 빈도의 강우사상을 확보하는데 한계가 있어, 보조적으로 한강 권역의 지상강우 관측 자료를 수집하여 높은 재현기간의 강우사상이 부족한 문제점을 해결하고자 하였다. 산정된 레이더 및 지상강우 호우중심형 ARF는 통계적 분석을 통해 비초과확률 90%, 95%의 값을 추출하였으며, 지속시간 1시간, 3시간, 6시간, 12시간, 24시간과 재현기간 0~10년, 10~20년, 20~50년, 50~80년, 80~100년에 대한 호우중심형 ARF 회귀상수를 제시하였다. 비초과확률 95%에서 기존 국토해양부(2011)에서 제시된 ARF와 호우중심형 ARF는 대체로 유사한 경향을 보이고 있었으나, 지속시간이 비교적 긴 12시간, 24시간에서는 호우중심형이 기존 ARF보다 다소 작게 산정되는 패턴을 보이고 있어 설계적용 시 유의해야 할 것으로 사료된다.

An Experimental Study on the Design Factors of Raw-water Supply System in Floodplain Filtration (홍수터여과에서 원수공급체계의 설계요소에 대한 실험연구)

  • Sand tank experiments were performed along with on-site supplier experiments in order to obtain design factors for the raw-water supply system in floodplain filtration. Results of the sand tank experiment elucidated that the infiltration rate was approximately proportional to the soil permeability and was not significantly influenced by short periods of rest. The average daily infiltration rate calculated by taking both flood and rest periods into account increased with increasing flood period, and was observed to reach an asymptote. Under the conditions of this study, the maximum infiltration rates obtained for both Daegu and Mulgeum soils with 15 min/ 30 min of rest/flood periods were 6.3 m/day and 1.4 m/day respectively, which were 42% and 70% of their hydraulic conductivities, respectively. The process of soil filtration resulted in a gradual decrease of hydraulic conductivity; a decrease of 27% was observed for the soil of Mulgeum over a period of 8 days. From the data obtained from the supplier experiment, it was evident that the radius of the flooded area increased as the supply rate increased for soils of Gumi and Sangju, however, there was an inverse correlation between hydraulic conductivity and the rate of increase in the radius. Results also showed that the time required to cover the entire soil surface with water, in other words, the time to reach the maximum flood radius from the commencement of the water emission was as short as 3 to 4 minutes for all the soils. Also, the average infiltration rate for the entire flood period did not change significantly when the rest period was shorter than an hour.
