  • In this paper, we analyse and present mechanical dynamic characteristics of a micro-machined vibrating silicon ring gyroscope which can measure rates of turn about three orthogonal axes. The ring gyroscope has a ring connected to the gyroscope main body by support-ligaments which are arranged with cyclic symmetry. The natural modes of its vibration can be distinguished into the in-plane motion and the out-of-plane motion which are coupled by the gyro-effect due to the rotation of the gyroscope main body. Prediction of Hydrodynamic Coefficients for Underwater Vehicle Using Rotating Arm Test (강제선회시험을 이용한 수중운동체의 유체력 미계수 추정)

  • In this study, hydrodynamic coefficients were obtained from a Rotating Arm (RA) test, which is one of the captive model tests used to provide accurate coefficients in the control motion equation of an underwater vehicle. The RA test was carried out at the RA facility of ADD (Agency for Defense Development), and the forces and moments acting on the underwater vehicle were measured using a six-axis waterproof gage. A multiple regression analysis was used in the analysis of the measured data. The experimental results were also verified by comparison with the theoretical values of the previous linear coefficients. In addition, the stability indices in the horizontal plane were calculated using the linear and nonlinear coefficients, and the dynamic stability of the underwater vehicle was estimated to have a good dynamic performance with a depth ratio of 6.0.

  • 해양사고 원인규명 통합 분석 시뮬레이션 시스템은 해양사고가 발생하는 과정(선회)을 포함하여 충돌, 좌초, 접촉, 전복, 침수 및 침몰 등의 해양사고를 유체-구조 연성 해석기법의 고도 정밀 M&S 시스템을 사용하여 과학적으로 해양사고의 원인을 분석하고 사고의 손상과정을 체계적으로 재현할 수 있는 시스템이다. 해양사고는 육상과 공중에서 발생하는 자동차와 비행기 등의 충돌이나 추락사고와는 달리 공기의 밀도보다 천배의 물에서 발생하므로 물에서 부양되고, 운동하고, 선내에 물이 침수되고, 운항 중일 때 파도도 생성시키고, 두 물체가 근접할 경우에는 압력이 압착되고, 두 물체가 스쳐 지나거나 안벽이나 해저를 근접하여 운항할 경우에는 압력이 저하되는 등 물에서의 연성효과(interface effect)를 충분히 고려하여 재현할 수 있어야 정확하게 해양사고의 원인을 규명 및 분석할 수 있을 것이다. 또한 황천에서 발생하는 해양사고일 경우에는 강한 조루, 강풍 및 해일성 파도 등을 불규칙 스펙트럼을 사용하여 정확히 구현하여야 황천에서 발생하는 해양사고의 원인을 충분히 분석할 수 있을 것이다. 이러한 해양사고 통합 분석 시뮬레이션 시스템을 이용하여 과학적이고 정확한 해양사고의 원인규명 및 분석으로 심판의 획기적인 신뢰 구축과 심판 지연에 따른 사회적 비용을 최소화하고, 해양사고의 원인과 과실 책임, 나아가서 사고 재발방지 대책수립 등에도 활용하는데도 크게 기여할 것으로 사료된다.

Study on induction air swirl in D.I. diesel engine (직접분사식 디젤기관의 흡입공기 선회강도에 대한 고찰)

  • 직접분사식 디젤기관의 성능과 배기가스 문제에 여향을 주는 실린더 내에서의 연소형태는 크게 연료분사계와 흡입공기 유동계 두 가지에 의해 결정된다. 즉 분사율, 부사시기, 분무형태와 같은 분사계의 특성과 공기선회, 스퀴시(squish), 난류와 같은 공기 유동 특성에 의하여 연소형태가 결 정된다. 이러한 복잡한 연소형테를 기관 특성에 맞게 조정한다는 것은 대단히 어려운 문제인데 이것은 연료화 공기의 혼합이 연소실형상과 흡기계의 형상에 큰 영향을 받으며 연료가 액체 상 태로 연소실내로 들어와 분무과정을 통하여 증발이 되어야만 연소가 가능하기 때문이다. 특히 흡입공기 유동계에 있어서 현재의 직접 분사식 대젤기관의 흡입구 형상은 흡입공기의 운동에너 지에 모멘트를 가하여 연소실내에서 공기의 선희(swirl)를 발생시켜 줌으로써 연료와 공기의 혼 합기를 형성시키는 Helical type이 많이 이용되고 있다. 그러나 기관 성능과 배기가스 특히 NOx는 상반관계를 이루기 때문에 연소실내로 들어오는 흡입공기의 선희강도(swirl ratio)를 너무 강하게만 한다고 하여 좋은 결과를 얻을 수는 없다. 따라서 설계하고자 하는 각 기관에 있어서 요구되는 성능과 배기가스 문제를 만족하는 흡입공기의 선희강도가 얻어질 수 있도록 흡입구 형상을 설계한다는 것은 많은 연구와 경험이 요구되고 있다. 본 자료에서는 직접분사식 디젤기 관에 있어서 흡입공기의 최적 선희강도에 대한 설정방법과 흡입구 형상 설계를 위한 설계 이론 및 정상류 Rig test상에서의 흡입공기 선희강도의 평가방법을 소개하고자 한다.

The Experimental Study on the Lift-off Height due to Momentum Ratio in Swirl-Coaxial Injector (2유체 동축인젝터의 공급 운동량비가 화염부상거리에 미치는 영향에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • The experimental study on the lift-off height of diffusion flames was conducted to investigate the damage of swirl-coaxial injector used in $GO_2$/kerosene rocket engine during initial stage of ignition. To investigate the causes of damage and to prevent further damage of the injector, experimental injector was designed and hot fire tests were performed with varying propellant momentum ratio($\frac{Momentum of {GO_2}}{Momentum of Kerosene}$) from 1 to 12. In experimental coaxial injector, kerosene is sprayed from the central nozzle with swirl and $GO_2$ sprayed around the kerosene nozzle in the direction parallel to the axis of combustion chamber. Chamber pressure are close to the atmospheric condition. Lift-off height was measured by still images from camcoder and average values were used as data.

  • This paper describes the parachute dynamics modeling and simulation results for the development of training simulator of a HALO (High Altitude Low Opening) parachute, which is currently in use for military purposes. The target parachute is a rectangular shaped parafoil and its dynamic model is derived based on the real geometry data as the 9-DOF nonlinear equations of dynamics. The simulation was conducted through the moment of inertia and its aerodynamic derivatives to reflect the real characteristics based on the MATLAB/Simulink. In particular, its modeling includes the typical characteristics of the added mass and moment of inertia, which is shown in the strong effects in Lighter-Than-Air(LTA) flight vehicle. The proposed dynamic modeling was evaluated through the simulation under the spiral turning flight conditions of the asymmetric control inputs and compared with the performance index in the target parachute manual.

  • In this paper, we study the propulsive behavior related to the flagellar motion of bacteria using a spring model. A commercial program was used to conduct simulations, and we verified the numerical technique by setting an additional rotating domain and conducting a parametric study. The numerical results are in good agreement with slender-body theory, although overall, they are not in agreement with resistive-force theory. We confirm the effect of the rotational velocity, pitch, helical radius, fluid viscosity, and, in particular, the distance from the wall on the propulsion of the spring.

  • Data Fusion algorithm is essential in Target Detection using radar, and it has more reliability. In this paper, Multi Radar Fusion algorithm using IMM(Interacting Multiple Model) filter is suggested. This well-known IMM filter has better performance than Kalman filter has. In this simulation, Distributed Data Fusion process was applied, and three sub-filters and one main filter were employed. In addition, this simulation was evaluated by virtual radar data which include constant velocity, constant accelerate, turn rate. The result of an evaluation shows better performance in the maneuvering section of aircraft.

  • Recently it is tried to use load control for maneuver moving object. MIN design method proposed to solve control problem of nonlinear system using load concept. Min design method shows direct method for finding control value on the load control model. In this paper, is shown load control value for problem of line of sight on missile guidance. The load control value keep given velocity of missile and angle of attack for tracking target.

Turning Behavior of Tractor-Trailer System by Computer Simulation (컴퓨터 시뮬레이션에 의한 트랙터와 트레일러의 선회운동)

  • Turning behavior of tractor-trailer system was studied to guide the tractor and trailer. Based upon kinematic relationship between the tractor and the trailer, a mathematical model was developed and analyzed by computer simulation. A field test was carried out to verify the mathematical model. Following conclusions were drawn from this study. 1. A mathematical model and a simulation program for turning behavior of tractor-trailer system were developed. 2. The results of the field tests showed that the RMS errors were less than 0.33m and the mathematical model based upon kinematic relationship can be used for mapping guidance system for tractor and trailer. 3. As the steering angle was increased, the turning radius was decreased. When the tractor travelled at the low speed, the travel speed of the tractor did not affect turning radius but did affect running time and stability for steering. 4. When the tractor travelled under the critical velocity, the towed trailer followed smoothly. When the the tractor travelled faster than the critical velocity, the towed trailer oscillated. The critical velocity was determined from the specification of the tractor and the trailer.
