Characteristic Analysis of a Linear Induction Motor considering Static and Dynamic End Effect (정적 및 동적 단부효과를 고려한 선형유도전동기의 특성 해석)

  • Linear induction motors have static and dynamic end effects due to its finite core length, so that per-phase impedances are asymmetric and the air gap flux distribution is distorted. Because of these points the d-q equivalent circuit model considering both end effects has not been exactly completed. So this paper proposes a characteristic analysis method considering both static and dynamic end effect of the LIM. This method is to utilize asymmetric d-q equivalent circuit model with dynamic end effect coefficient. As a result, it is shown that the simulation results have a good agreement with experimental ones.

  • In the case of long secondary (applied in long distance), as it is established horizontal, the defects of droop arises resulting damage of entire system. Actually, it is difficult to expect reasonable characteristics and desirable operating in that case. This paper is about numerical analysis of secondary droop, non-symmetric and position displacement problems. In the base of this paper, the correction of mechanical difficulties in practical manufacturing and optimal design of TLIM considering these aspects can be progressed successively.

  • In this paper, a controller design for ironless linear synchronous motor is proposed. The designed controller is mainly composed of speed and current control, which are carried out by the high-speed digital signal processor(DSP). In addition the PWM inverter is controlled by space voltage PWM method. This system is implemented using by 32-bit DSP(TMS32OC31), a high-integrated logic device(EPM940), and IPM(Intelligent Power Module) for compact and powerful system design. The experimental results show the effective performance of controller for careless linear synchronous motor.

  • This study deals with the characteristic analysis of slotless PMLSM based on the analytical method. Slotless PMLSM produces the thrust ripples due to the harmonic component of back-EMF. Therefore, this paper presents the thrust ripple minimization technique, by modifying the pole ratio and the coil width. The results of the proposed mehtod are compared the ones of FEM.

  • This paper deals with propulsion system for the UTM-01(Urban Transit Maglev). We experiment about the LIM and the inverter at 4 running test maglev vehicle. It is measured voltage, current, power factor for inverter output. And we discussed about efficiency of the LIM about maglev system.

  • The problem in improving the positioning precision of a permanent magnet linear synchronous motor(PMLSM) is the large detent force caused by the permanent magnet. The detent force is thought to arise from the difference of the position of a permanent magnet end and a tooth position. In this paper, Three methods of reducing detent force is presented The first method is adjusting the width of permanent magnet. The second method is varying the shape of armature teeth. The third method is the arrangement of the permanent magnet end. This paper compares with the ratio of reducing the detent force according to the three methods.

  • Detent force is produced in a permanent magnet linear machine. It is generally an undesired effect that contributes to the output ripple of machine, vibration and noise. This paper analyzes detent force in a Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor (PMLSM) by using various detent force minimization techniques. A two-dimensional Finite Element Method(FEM) is used to predict detent forces due to structural factors and non-linearity. And moving node technique for the drawing models is used to reduce modeling time and efforts.

  • This paper describes the direct thrust control of permanent magnet linear synchronous motor (PMLSM) with the secondary aluminium sheet. The time stepped finite element method and moving mesh technique are used for simulating dynamic characteristics of the PMLSM. The secondary back-iron conductivity as well as the initial flux linkage due to permanent magnet are considered in the simulation.

  • Linear metro with single sided linear induction motor is applied to the urban transit system because of non adhesion drive. But linear induction motor is required to reduce the energy consumption to maximize efficiency of LIM. In this paper, design requirements such as pole pitch, motor length, air gap, overhang length and the material of secondary sheet are investigated as major parameter of SLIM. It is effective for increasing the efficiency to adopt the copper reaction plate and decrease the mechanical air gap as small as possible.
