Effects of Company Trust and FLSE's Trust on Loyalty in Airline Industry (항공사 신뢰와 서비스제공자 신뢰 및 충성도의 영향관계 연구)

  • It is essential to have a trust with customer, especially in the airline context which provide the best service and movement to particular destinations. However, previous researches were performed only within restricted variables regarding this topic. Thus the purpose of this research was to investigate the relationship among trust's antecedents, trust and loyalty. A convenience sample of 298 travelers from airline customers was surveyed and 286 usable questionnaires were analyzed. According to the literature review, trust's antecedents were divided into the following variables: 'competence', 'benevolence' and 'problem solving ability'. Trust objects were divided into 'company trust' and 'front line service employee(FLSE) trust' accordingly. The findings of the study are as follows. First, company trust's antecedents which are 'competence', 'benevolence' and 'problem solving ability' yielded positive effects on company trust. Specifically, 'competence' has the strongest influence among variables. Second, as far as FLSE trust's antecedents are concerned, only 'competence' and 'problem solving ability' have positive effects on FLSE trust. Third, both company trust and FLSE trust influenced each other. Lastly, both company trust and FLSE trust have positive effects on loyalty.

Determinants of Customer Loyalty in the Context of Online Shopping: A Comparative Analysis of Internet Shopping and Mobile Shopping (온라인 쇼핑 상황에서 고객충성도의 결정요인: 인터넷 쇼핑과 모바일 쇼핑의 비교 분석)

  • This study focuses on customer loyalty that explains how firms can maintain long-term relationship with customers, in the internet shopping and mobile shopping contexts. Specifically, this study examines the key determinants of customer loyalty from two perspectives: service quality and shopping value. Concerning service quality, previous studies have long argued that it is a starting point of building customer loyalty. Shopping value is a key variable in capturing consumers' shopping motives. In this study, we consider two types of shopping value: usefulness as utilitarian value and enjoyment as hedonic value. Moreover, this study examines whether the effects of service quality and shopping value on customer loyalty differ depending on internet and mobile shopping groups. To test the proposed hypotheses, we conducted multiple linear regression analysis and chow test with a total of 199 data collected on users who have experience in internet shopping and mobile shopping. The key findings are as follows: First, in the internet shopping group, customer loyalty depends on service quality (responsiveness and empathy) and usefulness, whereas in the mobile shopping, it only depends on enjoyment. Second, the impacts of service quality and shopping value on customer loyalty are different depending on internet shopping and mobile shopping. The results imply that e-tailors should develop differential methods suitable for internet shopping or mobile shopping to enhance customer loyalty.

A Study on Influence of Antecedents and Activities within SCM on Balanced Scorecard Performance (SCM의 선행요인과 활동이 균형성과에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • This study aims at grasping the influence of antecedents within SCM to information sharing and cooperation as well as the influence of information sharing on cooperation among the small & medium-sized manufacturing industries, thus ultimately opening the way to the study on the influence of major activities such as information sharing and cooperation within SCM on the business performance by classifying such influence into low perspectives of BSC. The results of this study revealed that the antecedents such as commitment and cultural similarities exercised a significant influence on information sharing while mutual trust and the size of a corporate weighing with cooperative activities. It also identified the fact that information sharing bore a significant influence on cooperation in terms of relationships among activities. For the relationships between the SCM activities and performance, cooperation proved significant to all four balanced scorecard performances with little significant influence of information sharing on balanced scorecard performance. However, taking into consideration of the significance of information sharing on cooperation as well as the significant influence of cooperation on balanced scorecard performance, it fumed out that information sharing also effected a indirect influence on such four types of balanced scorecard performance. In this regard, based on the results of this study, it was identified that information sharing and cooperation, major activities within SCM, had either direct or indirect influence, through the influence of antecedents, on the business balanced scoreboard performance measured from a customer perspective, a business process perspective, an innovation and teaming perspective and a financial perspective.

Development of artificial intelligence-based river flood level prediction model capable of independent self-warning (독립적 자체경보가 가능한 인공지능기반 하천홍수위예측 모형개발)

  • In recent years, as rainfall is concentrated and rainfall intensity increases worldwide due to climate change, the scale of flood damage is increasing. Rainfall of a previously unobserved magnitude falls, and the rainy season lasts for a long time on record. In particular, these damages are concentrated in ASEAN countries, and at least 20 million people among ASEAN countries are affected by frequent flooding due to recent sea level rise, typhoons and torrential rain. Korea supports the domestic flood warning system to ASEAN countries through various ODA projects, but the communication network is unstable, so there is a limit to the central control method alone. Therefore, in this study, an artificial intelligence-based flood prediction model was developed to develop an observation station that can observe water level and rainfall, and even predict and warn floods at once at one observation station. Training, validation and testing were carried out for 0.5, 1, 2, 3, and 6 hours of lead time using the rainfall and water level observation data in 10-minute units from 2009 to 2020 at Junjukbi-bridge station of Seolma stream. LSTM was applied to artificial intelligence algorithm. As a result of the study, it showed excellent results in model fit and error for all lead time. In the case of a short arrival time due to a small watershed and a large watershed slope such as Seolma stream, a lead time of 1 hour will show very good prediction results. In addition, it is expected that a longer lead time is possible depending on the size and slope of the watershed.

  • With the worldwide spread of African swine fever, interest in livestock epidemics has increased. Livestock transport vehicles are the main cause of the spread of livestock epidemics, but there are no empirical quarantine procedures and standards related to the mobility of livestock transport vehicles in South Korea. This study extracted the trajectory of livestock-related vehicles using the facility-visit history data from the Korea Animal Health Integrated System and the DTG (Digital Tachograph) data from the Korea Transportation Safety Authority. The results are presented as exposure indices aggregating the link-time occupancy of each vehicle. As a result, 274,519 livestock-related vehicle trajectories were extracted, and the exposure values by link and zone were derived quantitatively. This study highlights the need for prior monitoring of livestock transport vehicles and the establishment of post-disaster prevention policies.

  • Stochastic rainfall-runoff process model which is mainly used in real-time streamflow forecasting is Transfer Function(TF) model that has a simple structure and can be easy to formulate state-space model. However, in order to forecast the streamflow accurately in real-time using the TF model, it is not only necessary to determine accurate structure of the model but also required to reduce forecasting error in early stage. In this study, after introducing 5-day Antecedent Precipitation Index (API5), which represents the initial soil moisture condition of the watershed, by using the threshold concept, the TF models in each API5 are identified by Box-Jenkins method and the results are compared with each other.

  • Design practice of the preloading method, which is one of the most used ground improvement methods, includes quite complicated problems, especially when the draining facilities such as rand drain piles are to be considered. But, such complicated problems can be easily handled once an expert system is developed. The expert system is an interactive computer program which has just succeeded in commercial application. It is a new field of CAE(computer aided engineering), which has developed on application of geotechnical problems in recent years In this study, the expert system which gives practical assistance to engineers is developed by building the knowledge base for the preloading method with vertical drains. In this study, an expert system is built by using CLIPS as a development tool. And the expert system is developed under the workstation environment using UNIX OS.

  • In this paper, we propose an adaptive genetic algorithm (aGA) approach for effectively solving the sequencing problem with precedence constraints (SPPC). For effective representation of the SPPC in the aGA approach, a new representation procedure, called the topological sort-based representation procedure, is used. The proposed aGA approach has an adaptive scheme using a fuzzy logic controller and adaptively regulates the rate of the crossover operator during the genetic search process. Experimental results using various types of the SPPC show that the proposed aGA approach outperforms conventional competing approaches. Finally the proposed aGA approach can be a good alternative for locating optimal solutions or sequences for various types of the SPPC.
