An engineering design problem involving Multi-Disciplinary Analysis(MDA) generally requires a large amounts of computing time for the entire design process, and therefore it is essential to introduce a Multiple Processor System (MPS) for reducing the computing time. However, when applying conventional parallel processing techniques, all of the CAE S/W requited for the MDA should be installed on all the servers making up MPS because of characteristic of MDA and it would be a great expense in CAE S/W licenses. To solve this problem, we propose a Weight-based Multiqueue Load Balancing algorithm for a heterogeneous MPS where performance of servers and CAE S/W installed on each server are different of each other. To validate the performance, a Computational experiments comparing the First Come First Serve algorithm and our proposed algorithm was accomplished.
In this paper, an energy efficient clustering scheme using self organization method is proposed. The proposed scheme selects a cluster head considering not only the number of neighbor nodes but also the residual battery amount. In addition, the network life time is extended by re-selecting the cluster heads only in case the current cluster head's residual energy falls down below a certain threshold level. Accordingly, the energy consumption is evenly distributed over the entire network nodes. The cluster head delivers the collected data from member nodes to a Sink node in a way of multi-hop relaying. In order to evaluate the proposed scheme, we run computer simulation in terms of the total residual amount of battery, the number of alive nodes after a certain amount of time, the accumulated energy cost for network configuration, and the deviation of energy consumption of all nodes, comparing with LEACH which is one of the most popular network clustering schemes. Numerical results show that the proposed scheme has twice network life-time of LEACH scheme and has much more evenly distributed energy consumption over the entire network.
Islands are vulnerable to outer influences due to their small size and isolation. Tourism often becomes an important development focus because of their unique culture and nature. Jeju-do, as well as other islands, has experienced such development mostly led by central government, and the regional change was understood as the outcome of global influences without much concern with the local response or strategy. Thus, vulnerability has been the key theme in island development studies. This paper examines the current state of island development as an outcome of locals' alternating strategy in which the islanders accept the central government's plan, but express their demands to modify them. It is reflected in the electoral preference for ruling or oppositional parties, local movements against central government's development plans, and the spatial organization of tourism sites from a few growth centers to more dispersed, balanced development. These suggest that the current state of island development is not derived from unidirectional global forces, even if islands are peripheral. Rather, it is the outcome of an alternating strategy of Jeju locals accepting the central government development plans while managing them for local benefits.
The existing cluster-based routing protocols have some problems. Firstly, because of selecting cluster head at random, they occur a node concentration problem. Secondly, they have a low reliability for data communication due to the less consideration of node communication range. Finally, data communication overhead is greatly increased because of sending all sensor node information to sink node for constructing clusters. To solve these problems, we in this paper, propose a cluster-based routing protocol using message reception success rate. Firstly, to solve the node concentration problem, we design a cluster head selection algorithm based on node connectivity and devise cluster spliting/merging algorithms. Secondly, to guarantee data communication reliability, we use message reception success rate. Finally, to reduce data communication overhead, we use only neighbor nodes information at both cluster construction and cluster head selection.
PEGASIS, a chain-based protocol, forms chains from sensor nodes so that each node transmits and receives from a neighbor. In this way, only one node (known as a HEAD) is selected from that chain to transmit to the sink. Although PEGASIS is able to balance the workload among all of the nodes by selecting the HEAD node in turn, a considerable amount of energy may be wasted when nodes which are far away from sink node act as the HEAD. In this study, DERP (Distance-based Energy-efficient Routing Protocol) is proposed to address this problem. DERP is a chain-based protocol that improves the greedy-algorithm in PEGASIS by taking into account the distance from the HEAD to the sink node. The main idea of DERP is to adopt a pre-HEAD (P-HD) to distribute the energy load evenly among sensor nodes. In addition, to scale DERP to a large network, it can be extended to a multi-hop clustering protocol by selecting a "relay node" according to the distance between the P-HD and SINK. Analysis and simulation studies of DERP show that it consumes up to 80% less energy, and has less of a transmission delay compared to PEGASIS.
With the dynamic and mobile nature of ad hoc networks, links may fail due to topology changes. So, a major challenge in ad hoc network is dynamically to search paths from a source to destination with an efficient routing method, which is an important issue for delay-sensitive real-time application. The main concerns of graph theory in communications are finding connectivity and searching paths using given nodes. A topology of the nodes in ad hoc networks can be modeled as an adjacency matrix. In this paper, based on this adjacency matrix, we propose new path search algorithms using a sequence of matrix calculation. The proposed algorithms can search paths from a destination to a source using connectivity matrix. Two matrix-based algorithms for two different purposes are proposed. Matrix-Based Backward Path Search(MBBS) algorithm is designed for shortest path discovery and Matrix-Based Backward Multipath Search(MBBMS) algorithm is for multipath search.
Important Java network application services have been rapidly increased along with the growth of the Internet. So, it is desirable for such applications to serve transparently, continuously and safely even if the network is temporally partitioned or certain hosts running those services are crashed down. To satisfy such requirements, many group communication systems have been developed. However, existing Java-based group communication systems do not support both the extended virtual synchrony and various types of message delivery such as FIFO, causal, total and safe delivery service. In this paper, we present the design and implementation of a Java group communication system, named JACE, supporting various types of message delivery between group members and the extended virtual synchrony model. The JACE system consists of a number of protocol modules which can be stacked on top of each other in a variety of ways. In addition, using the JACE system, we have developed an experimental UDDI registry for discovering and publishing information about Web services.
This study was designed to investigate the correlation between the degree of knowledge in regards to the importance of oral health and the smile scores as well as the correlation between their actual oral conditions and smile scores. The author surveyed the knowledge and the actual oral health condition of the subjects, 150 high school students (80 males and 70 females), and their frontal pictures were taken when they had full smiles. After evaluation of the smiles of the subjects by five dentists, the results were analysed. This study showed that there was neither a correlation between the smile score and the knowledge of oral health nor the actual oral condition. The investigation showed that the actual oral condition and care was performed well even if there were some wrong answers in the questionnaire, which asked about proper oral health. In conclusion, the smile could be related to the repetition of the habit of smiling rather than being related to the knowledge of oral health or their actual oral condition.

According to EMEP/EEA Emission Inventory Guidebook, the emissions produced by vehicle in cold start phase should be calculated differently compared to hot start phase. In this study, considering this driving cycle, more appropriate procedures for estimating Environmental Benefits was suggested. Using Tier 3 standard, all links within the impact area were included in estimating emissions. Traffic volume and travel distance were analyzed using EMME/3 software. For application of the procedures in this study, the case study was carried out with real transportation project. As a result, the Environment-Benefits increased by 30%. If the methodology suggested in this study is applied to feasibility study it will help to activate the investment of the environment-friendly modes like railway in the future.
21st century has become an era can design human's image. By designing the each human's images it is possible to express the hidden abilities of their mind. Modern society changes rapidly where the elements such as consideration, sympathy, understandings, and female leadership of communication emerge as a spur rather than speediness or complexity. In a lot of global conglomerates, it is very common for women to be selected as CEO, and even more, the rate of woman who are the member of Congress is almost 40%. The fashion of female leader has come to the fore with an improvement of female leadership, and the fashion colour which is suitable to P.O has been developed as a significant image strategy. I am going to conduct the research and analyse the fashion of a female political leader through the colour image which is equivalent to a visual image and sensitive language. I will analyze the human image which female leaders present through fashion colors.
